Car is a 1968 96, V4, with round mirrors. The chrome guy said if I heat up the housing, the glue will melt, and the mirror glass will come out of the housing. I hit the housing with a hot air gun, and put a suction cup on the glass so I could pull it out of the housing, but no go. The glue melted, and I can spin the glass in the housing, but the inner diameter of the housing is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the glass. I know I could just break the glass, but I have two mirrors with perfectly good glass and was hoping to reuse them in the mirrors that I end up getting rechromed. I wonder how someone got the glass in there in the first place.... Even though you all know what a mirror looks like, I attached two photos for those older guys like me who might have trouble remembering...
