Boost version number query

<pre>There appears to be some inconsistency regarding the version of boost:

For the 'boost' package itself, 1.53.0 is current, with 1.50.0 marked as
previous.

For other boost libraries (i.e. 'libboost-devel',
'libboost_python-devel', 'libboost_python3-devel') 1.50.0 is current
with 1.53.0 marked as test.

Is this correct?

BTW, thank you for updating Boost recently. I use Boost quite a bit and
really appreciate your efforts in keeping it up-do-date.

Cheers,

Dave.

I'm seeing the following behavior with make, PATH on cygwin. Google
brought up a related post [with PATH and same error]
http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.os.cygwin/137168 with reference to
http://cygwin.com/acronyms/#BLODA as the issue - but I don't
understand how this would apply to this case. Hence this post.

Attaching a makefile that demonstrates this problem. The following are
my observations.

- The breakage is observable - when I have 2 commands invoked via 'make'
either as 'cmd1|cmd2' or 'cmd1; cmd2'. The same command executed directly
by a shell script runs fine. Or single command from make runs fine as well.
- It appears to be related to the huge length of one of the commands - and
  length of PATH
- I tried it on 3 different machines [with differences in default installed software]
win2008/x64 - breaks when PATH is over 1.5K chars
win2003/x32 - breaks when PATH is over 2K chars
win7/x32 - breaks when PATH is over 20K chars.

Any ideas on how to debug this further to better unde</pre>

python aborts

<pre>Hello,

With the current snapshot (20130521) on Windows XP, the following fails
(with an empty stackdump):

% /usr/bin/python pyfoo
Abort (core dumped)
% cat pyfoo
import xml.sax
xml.sax.make_parser()
% cat python2.7.exe.stackdump
Stack trace:
Frame Function Args
% /usr/bin/python --version
Python 2.7.3
%

With some dichotomy, i found that under the 20130430 snapshot it works
(no "abort", no stackdump), but under 20130501 it does the same
as today (ie abort).

My original python program (from which i extracted this test case)
seems
to run correctly until the end of it, where the abort occurs.

<pre>Version 1.8.4-1 of doxygen has been uploaded.

CHANGES:
========

This version contains support for "clang assisted parsing", which allows
the code to also be parsed via libclang (C/C++ frontend of LLVM) and can
improve the quality of the syntax highlighting, cross-references, and
call graphs, especially for template heavy C++ code. Hence, starting
with this release, doxygen is dependent on libclang.

This version also introduces an experimental feature which stores data
gathered by doxygen in a sqlite3 database. As this is still
experimental, this feature is *not enabled* in this build.

There are many other changes and improvements. For the full change log,
please see: http://www.doxygen.org/manual/changelog.html#log_1_8_4

DESCRIPTION
===========

Doxygen is a documentation system for C++, C, Java, Objective-C, Python,
IDL (Corba and Microsoft flavors), Fortran, VHDL, PHP, C#, and to some
extent D.

Patch for shutdown

<pre>Hi Corinna,

Since nobody made real objections about changing the short flag for
hibernate from -h to -b to make room for -h for halt [1], I created a
patch to change the shutdown program. The patch was created back in
March, but with all your work being done on cygwin64, your holiday and
myself being very busy with life it was held back.

There were no change to the shutdown CVS since then so here is that
patch, including a changelog.

Note that I didn't change the programs version number in this patch. I
don't know if changing an existing option would require/justify to
change the version from 1.9 to 2.0 instead of simply to 1.10?

Regards,
Frank

Setup.exe - pending view does not show all pending packages

<pre>Hi!

If I start Setup.exe v2.774 on a PC where cygwin is already installed
and I select to install new package (not yet installed), then the
Pending view only shows this selected package and misses all the other
pending packages (they would be upgraded as a newer version is
available).

Without selecting new packages to install, the Pending vie shows a
list of existing packages that will be updated.

So this is inconsistent and confusing/misleading.

Regards,
David

<pre>Hi!

I started the latest setup.exe (version 2.774), clicked Next,Next,Next
(aka "update my cygwin installation", a less clicking way would be
welcome) and at the end it printed:

Package: cygutils
    cygutils.sh exit code 127

/var/log/setup.log.full has this at the end:
