Kali linux in VMs?

Turning learned stuff into certification efficiency

So after a few years of taking extensive notes on my certification 
videos for RHEL, I look at the objectives for the LPIC Cert and go oh 
shit- it must be more granular to pass the exam. I am now going through 
each segment of the exam, taking from my notes and trying to anser every 
test objective with a memorizable set of memory keys.

Example output:

101.1 Determine and configure hardware settings
Weight - 2
Description - Candidates should be able to determine and configure 
fundamental system hardware.

Key Knowledge Areas:
- Enable and disable integrated peripherals.
BIOS>Integrated Peripherals
- Configure systems with or without external peripherals such as keyboards.
Disable in BIOS- keeps keyboard from halting system to do so
- Differentiate between the various types of mass storage devices.
SATA/IDE/SSD/USB/Firewire = /dev/sd* - older systems show as /hd*
RAID arrays = sd* or sc*, CD/DVD /dev/sr* /dev/cdrom and /dev/dvd

Topics and Presentation Request

Greetings!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend and I'd like to thank everyone
that came to last week's meeting.  While at the meeting, there was
discussion on possible future topics and/or topics we'd like to see.

A few topics that could be given in the first half of 2013 include:
- FreeNAS
- Zenoss
- Backups (using rsync and other tools)
- Steam (native client for Linux, beta)
- Lightworks (beta)
- Razor

Also at the meeting, the following topics were mentioned that people would
like to see a presentation on if possible:
- GIMP
- InkScape
- Provisioning tools (i.s. cobbler, etc.)
- Desktops (any -- would be very informational given the multitude of
choices these days!)


In addition, I'd like to ask that if anyone out there has a topic they'd
like to see more information on or present about please let me know so we
can work on scheduling it.
