Conventional calculator software manipulates numbers. Computer Algebra
Systems (CAS) manipulate symbols. Free software CAS should begin to
replace propriety CAS. One of the most powerful Free Software CAS,
SAGE, is available online.

    <description>&lt;pre&gt;Greetings!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend and I'd like to thank everyone
that came to last week's meeting. While at the meeting, there was
discussion on possible future topics and/or topics we'd like to see.

A few topics that could be given in the first half of 2013 include:
- FreeNAS
- Zenoss
- Backups (using rsync and other tools)
- Steam (native client for Linux, beta)
- Lightworks (beta)
- Razor

Also at the meeting, the following topics were mentioned that people would
like to see a presentation on if possible:
- GIMP
- InkScape
- Provisioning tools (i.s. cobbler, etc.)
- Desktops (any -- would be very informational given the multitude of
choices these days!)

In addition, I'd like to ask that if anyone out there has a topic they'd
like to see more information on or present about please let me know so we
can work on scheduling it.

Again thank you to everyone who showed up at the meeting and I look forward
to seeing you next week!
