<pre>At last night's meeting we discussed ubnutu for netbook.

It seems that Ubuntu Netbook Edition has been merged into
general Ubuntu.

Beginning with version 10.10, Ubuntu Netbook Edition used the
Unity desktop as its desktop interface. The classic netbook
interface was available in Ubuntu's software repositories as
an option.[7][8]

Because Ubuntu's desktop edition has moved to the same Unity
interface as the netbook edition, starting with Ubuntu 11.04,
the netbook edition has been merged into the desktop
edition.[1]

<pre>Hi all,

As some of you know, I have been spending this last year looking over
RHEL administration material, and most recently Bash and Perl scripting
materials using LinuxCBT training videos and taking alot of notes. I
also played around with installing some stuff on CentOS VMs

The reason for this initiative spawned from having a job which is a
non-technical role and having downtime to study and stay up to speed the
best I can on my own. I have been in this position for about 6 years
and I know it won't look too hot on an IT resume. I am quite eager to
get into a junior position where I can get some practice and build my
skills. I have a strong interest in TCP/IP and lean toward that rather
than software development (although I dabble in a number of languages
C/C++, Java, etc). Learning Cisco stuff is another goal of mine, but I
am focusing now on Linux administration.

I have been out of an IT job for some time, but managed computer labs at
UT in the 90's for about 5 years (mainly Mac and</pre>

There are questions on it qualifying as true OOS
Sorry for the blabbing:

I have had other adventures the last two days so I am taking a break.
Spring Break: Movies: Silent Running, Star Wars, someone is getting me
back into Babylon 5

After celebrating Pi Day on 3-14-2012, I last night (next evening) was
carrying out trash and fell down the stairs which marked the top of my
nose with a little T for Tristan (my name) scratching by the concrete so
i will now have an identifying mark as a scar. Initially I was angry but
maybe it will heal ok and go well with my Marvel-like Pi outfit with my
ThinkGeek tshirt and Punisher-like leather jacket (someone's asking me
to do it so I think I will!)

One thing I found this Spring Break is Rush's music videos. I am not a
big Rush fan- I stopped looking at them in 1984- but this stuff isnt
bad! Retrospective 2009 dvd (I got overloaded and and to stop)

<pre>Hey Team,

Some of you inquired recently about Texas Linux fest this year. It
looks like they're planning it out now and looking for venues to host
it at.

There's a survey they're asking people to take so they can get an idea
of what it will cost and where to have it.. I've included the links
below.

disassembling an Expresscard

<pre>Hi List,

Although not specifically Linux related, I'd imagine a number of you tinker
with hardware as well.

I've got an audio Expresscard (RME) that is most certainly broken. Before
sending it to be repaired, though, has anyone ever taken one apart? It
seems they're all build from the same spec, and I guess I don't have
anything to lose by wrenching on it, but it doesn't seem to have any seams
that I can exploit.

In general, I hate Expresscards anyhow - they're super flimsy.

Anyhow, thanks in advance.

- Ian
