<pre>As there is still no official FreeBSD pkgng repository, and a lot of us
are hacking on BeagleBones and Raspberry Pis, Steve K and I took it upon
ourselves to create a very *unofficial* and *untested* selection of
packages:

mirrors.nycbug.org/pub/FreeBSD_ARM/pkg

If you want to use this, put the following line:

PACKAGESITE: http://mirrors.nycbug.org/pub/FreeBSD_ARM/pkg/

in your /usr/local/etc/pkg.conf

Hopefully, we can keep building packages and keep them reasonably
updated. At least for some of us, it will save a lot of time.

If there's anything in particular you need, please feel free to ping the
list, as we or someone else might have the package built.

Also, no guarantee on security, checksums, integrity, etc., so use at
your own risk.

Since there is no /dev/ttyUSB2, I have no idea how I address this

Any ideas?

Thoughts? Is tomorrow morning's commute to work going to look like that new Brad Pitt movie, *or*, are we looking at a dopey expose of well-known widespread worst-practices in cryptographic misunderstandings?

There were some questions around the history of Xapain, a complete(ish)
history is available:

The project has it's roots in the Muscat project, dating back to 1984.

There seemed to be some interest in making a real port of this tool. I may
try to spend some time cleaning it up and wrapping it in a port if there is
interest. Ultimately a C++ implementation would probably be best.

<pre>Hi talk --

As the subject line says, I have a bunch of minipci (not minipci-e; what
I have are the bigger, older) wifi cards that I don't need anymore, so
I'm offering them to nycbug people for free. These cards are good for
soekris and mikrotik boards, and older laptops. Please check to make
sure you can use them.

Other OpenBSD devs (and free/net/dfly devs) get first priority (if
you're a f/n/d dev, let me know so you can get the dev bump); other than
that, first come first served.

All cards are used but presumed working (I no longer have the hardware
to test, but there's no reason these cards should not work).

Here's a list of what I have, plus their corresponding OpenBSD driver:
* ALPHA Networks WMP-N06SA.03, Atheros AR5008+AR5416 (athn)
* Broadcom BCM94318MPG Rev 4 (bwi - may not work on OpenBSD/other BSDs)
* Intel WM3B2200BG (iwi)
* Unknown AR5212A (ath)
* Unknown RTL8185L (no OpenBSD [no BSD?] driver - write your own!)
* Unknown WL-850R/E, RT2561T (ral - should work but never tested)

He mentions Ku-Band transmitters , I assume he is talking about satalite microwave based communication but what system , is there or was there some form of this available to common users or just governments ? Also tamper-proof boxes , is he referring to hardware or the concept of say tar&amp;#x27;ng up a file encrypting it and signing it ?

In any case I wonder what today&amp;#x27;s readers take away from this text .

<pre>For those of you attending BSDCan this year, there will be a doc lounge each evening (May 15-18) from 19:00-21:00. For the FreeBSD folks, there will be committers on hand to help get people started, review doc patches, and commit them for you. If you've ever wanted to help improve the docs or have a particular man page or Handbook chapter in mind that needs improving, this is a great opportunity to get it done.

This room is not limited to FreeBSD docs. If anyone else is interested in improving docs for any of the BSD projects (or derivatives), feel free to make use of this space. If you have a doc commit access for any BSD project, consider making use of and promoting this space as a way to get people interested in docs involved with your project.
