<pre>Hello.

I recently came across the chandler project and signed up for
https://hub.chandlerproject.org/ -

I was very impressed (and I'm not easily impressed) -
especially by the design philosophy and the thought behind this.

I read http://chandlerproject.org/Projects/Vision this has several
very insightful comments
also http://chandlerproject.org/Notes/MimiYinNotes

Is this project still active?

Could MiniYin mail me - I have a load of questions.

Cheers

[chandler-dev] Build fails on Ubuntu with error

<pre>Hi:

I like the Chandler package, but, running under wine is just too slow,
so I decided to compile the native form under Kubuntu 11.04.

There are a number of issues. First, the debian/control file has to be
edited. Change all occurrences of python-zopeinterface to
python-zope.interface to comply with new package names.

The build command then becomes:
svn-buildpackage -rfakeroot --svn-verbose --svn-ignore-new

However, this also fails with a compile error:
chandler/build-area/chandler-1.0.4~svn16701/external/icu/icu-3.6/icu/source/layoutex/ParagraphLayout.cpp:801:6:
error: #elif with no expression
make[4]: *** [ParagraphLayout.o] Error 1

First of all, I shouldn't even be building the external packages. How
do I turn them off? That might solve the problem.

Second, this file doesn't exist on my computer. How am I supposed to
fix this problem?

Jim D.

<pre>Hi All,

I was working on porting chandler to FreeBSD some time ago, but ran into the limit of my abilities and ran out of time. I was wondering if there is anybody else working on this or if anybody has already finished it, I would like to assist in any way I can but I'm afraid the whole task is beyond me at the moment. If there is no one already working on it I will continue on my own, but any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

version of Chandler available which can run on later releases of
Ubuntu. Is this correct, because it puts me in a quandary - I'm fond
of Chandler and it would be a blow to change, but I need a task
scheduler that can run on all my machines (Win 7 and Ubuntu).

There were some posts a while ago from some people trying to compile
Chandler on later versions of Ubuntu, but it seemed that they ran into
problems that they could not overcome.

Can anyone give me an update on the situation ?

is far too out of date to be likely to work, so I have not tried it.

Any chance of re-packaging the client for 10.04? Since this is an LTS
version, I think it is a good opportunity for the project to remain
relevant and keep a reasonable install base.

I have a background of programming (pre web dinosaur, but able) and am

is going to be a "must have" for her. Then again I'm new to Python
and plug ins (have installed "Hello World", but that's all so far!).
So thought I would join list and ask if there are any plans in this
arena or even anything out there already?

<pre>Hi - I would like to import .ics files into a Chandler server. Having looked
through old posts to this list, it looks like this is not currently possible.

http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/chandler-users/2008-May/001776.html

Rather than use a GUI for importing, I would like to do it through a Perl
script. A cursory glance at Chandler server suggests there are three ways of
doing it.
1. Use the cURL library to emulate the action of manually populating the
server with events. Horrid solution.
2. Hack the server database directly. This would be my preferred solution if
there is a published database API. Is there?
3. Use the caldav protocol (Perl's Cal::DAV module which isn't well
documented).

Any thoughts? Am I covering ground already covered?

Thanks in advance.
