<pre>We'd like to deploy mapiproxy using RPC-over-HTTP (Outlook Anywhere) for
all communications end-to-end. I have Outlook communicating with the
mapiproxy using the RPC-over-HTTP WSGI module provided in the OpenChange
package, but the connection from mapiproxy to the Exchange server is using
standard RPC. Is there a RPC-over-HTTP package available or in the works
for the mapiproxy to Exchange server link? If not what would it take to
build one? Would some form of financial or other incentive make this happen?

Thanks

<pre>I understand that Exchange has a reliance upon Active Directory. I do use
Samba 4.0.6 and love it, but I am curious (can't seem to find the answers
on the internet) about whether the Active Directory implementation HAS to
be Samba, or whether is can be Windows Server, or even a mix of the two.

For instance...
A domain that only has Windows AD DCs
A mixed Samba DC and Windows DC domain? Does Openchange support this?
What if the schema master role isn't on the DC the Openchange is installed
on, will the Schema update still work?

Thanks!

<pre>Hi,

It's generally not considered best practise to email out clear text
usernames and passwords in the same email along with login URL - even if the
password is only used for this list.

Would it be possible to change the config of the list to stop this?

One assumes members of this list can keep track of their passwords without a
monthly clear test reminder of the password :)

[openchange][PATCH] Samba compilation fix for samba gitmaster

<pre>Hi List,

While playing with latest samba git master, I've noticed that our
script/installsamba.sh script was failing to compile samba master
properly.

We were hitting an undefined reference error for hash_any symbol in some
source3 files. The attached patch removes ccan from the list of
builtin-libraries.

I am yet unsure if we will hit the issue with 4.0.6 because master !=
from samba-4.0.x releases (backport of patches to stable) which also
explains why the patch doesn't enter openchange master yet.

Cheers,
Julien.

<pre>I am attempting to deploy mapiproxy but I am running into some problems.
I'm trying to proxy between an Outlook 2010 client and an Exchange 2010
server using delegated credentials. I have joined samba as a domain
controller to the exchange server's domain. Outlook is able to connect to
the exchange server, through the proxy, and download the profile. But when
I launch Outlook it never successfully connects. The outlook status reports
"trying to connect" or "disconnected".

From wireshark traces and mapiproxy debug output it appears that initial
NTLMSSP authentication is succeeding but the following rpcs are failing
with "access denied". There is one thing I find puzzling in the wireshark
trace. I see the Outlook-client issue an "Auth3" request to the proxy but I
don't see the proxy send a corresponding "Auth3" request to the exchange
server. Could this be the reason the exchange server is returning "access
denied"? I've attached the wireshark and debug logs below.

I've googled and searched the mail-list arc</pre>

<pre>Hello,

I am searching how to develop/contribute to a backend for openchange. I
start by analyse how Sogo backend works and i am in front of some
difficulties.

Firts it seems that we have to create a library with a
mapistore_init_backendentry point. This function initialise a structure
mapistore_backend and call mapistore_backend_register.
This library will be installed in /usr/lib/mapistore_backends (in my
case because i use fhs folder type).
*This part is working now* (i make a new dummy backend : registering well )

Making make doxygen reveals how backend work, i can get some view of
what to do, but how do we link top-folder and backend ? I am installing
a new virtual machine with Sogo following http://iabsis.com/
documentation. I will have opportunity to put triggers on Sogo
backend... but seems big work.

My trouble is due to the fact that Inverse doesn' t comment all
functions. A lot are a bit confuse to me

examples:
sogo_backend_create_context I suppose that it serves to initialise

[openchange][patch] A couple of mapiprofile patches

<pre>Julien, team,

Please find attached a couple of patches for the mapiprofile utility.

The 0001 patch changes the status message for the --default option to
make it read a little better.

The 0002 patch fixes the sanity check for an existing profile that has
the same name, when creating a new profile. The "profile" argument to
OpenProfile needs to be talloc'd, but we were just passing on the stack.
This results in an error like:
Bad talloc magic value - unknown value
Aborted

I'm obviously a little rusty with OpenChange, so would like a review if
you have time.

<pre>Hi all,
I'm trying to upgrade an existing Samba4 domain for functionality
OpenChange + SOGO. The aim is to obtain a configuration: Server 1 - S4 &amp;OC,
server 2 - postfix, server 3 - SOGO working together.
But I'm not able to build OC based on the existing working setup (Ubuntu
13.04 + Samba 4.0.0 + BIND 9.9.2).
I tried the --with-samba, samba4.conf added to ld.so.conf.d, I
checked several versions --prefix= but without success.

Please help the noob.

[openchange]a question to setting up openchange server

<pre>Hi, All,

I need to set up an openchange server to simulate MS Exchange server to
do some experiment.

I follow the instructions at
http://www.openchange.org/cookbook/index.html and saw following issues:
1. |git://git.openchange.org/openchange.git is inaccessible.
2. |In page http://www.openchange.org/cookbook/configuring.html,

| '--*dna*-backend=BIND9_DLZ' should be '-*dns*-backend=BIND9_DLZ'

|||

|3. But when I restart 'bind9' I got following error:
     # /etc/init.d/bind9 restart
  * Stopping domain name service... bind9
rndc: connect failed: 127.0.0.1#953: connection refused [ OK ]
  * Starting domain name service...
bind9 [fail]

I reinstalled 'apparmor' and 'bind9' packages after failure. (Do I need
to install them at beginning? If so,
I suggest to point these out in the document.)

Can anyone tell me how to resolve this issue?

Thanks

Boying

<pre>Hi! First of all, thank you for that project, you done a great work!

I hope for your help, to find where I'm stuck.

My task was, for beginning, to create a basic mail server, that
user can send/receive a email. It was done - user connected to IMAP
and all works fine. After that I found a openchange project... And I
thought, to try to configure the imap server that support exchange
connection.

Configured SOGO with mysql - SOGo working. When connecting to
mydom.com, I can see an email in inbox, send mails, in short - all
working.

   Configured samba4 from this article:
http://www.openchange.org/cookbook/configuring.html,
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_HOWTO, and
http://www.alexwyn.com/computer-tips/centos-samba4-active-directory-domain-controller
- with internal dns. Samba is working apart from "rpc", but I'm not
thinking that it is my problem.

I did a steps for Configure OpenChange from
http://www.openchange.org/cookbook/configuring.html and from
http://www.sogo.nu/files/docs/SOGo%</pre>
