Hi All,

I am switching my mail server from sendmail to qmail, currently installing
qmail in debian and i am following this link http://qmailrocks.thibs.com/

I Have a problem in creating domains using vpopmail, below is the error
thrown when i am trying to create a domain.

"Unable to chdir to vpopmail/domains/domain directory"

Can any one suggest me to overcome this, quick response is highly
appreciated.

I think this was addressed before but I'm wondering if any patches
exist...

Basically if your username has a dash in it and you have QMAIL_EXT (
ension ) enabled, vdelivermail will never check if you have a .qmail
file in your mail directory. It will check for .qmail-EXTension.

The problem lies in the code that checks if the current user is an
extension or not and simply goes by a dashboard being present or
not...

LDAP module documentation

module backend for authentication? I assume it is called via the
vchkpw interface. I have re-compiled vpopmail with the

--enable-auth-module=ldap

option. I am using vpopmail ver. 5.4.33

It's been some time since I've had to dig into any vpopmail issues as we have a box that's been "frozen in time" for years.  It's quite the frankenbox at this point and I'll be having to get myself up to speed in the coming months to deal with a move to new hardware, moving to dovecot from courier, and fronting the whole qmail mess with postfix.

So I decided to start small and verify I can still rebuild the current vpopmail version we run (5.4.7) in a VM and alter a few options.

I opted to enable the "last login" function.  It was turned off long ago to alleviate some db load, but that's no longer an issue for us.  I've rebuilt 5.4.7 with "--enable-auth-logging" but I'm not seeing all logins show up in the "lastauth" table.  We use courier (4.0.6) and authdaemond (0.58) with vpopmail auth enabled.

In my testing, I tried a pop3, pop3s, imap, and imaps login and found no errors logged and no logins show up in the lastauth table.  To complicate matters, I do see a handful of users showing up in the table, bu

We are having some issues with Vpopmail , vdelivermail more precisely  
- in the function is_spam()

There is this code that is charged with finding out when the headers end:

              case '\r':

Basically it assumes that if it finds spaces or \n or \t or \r that  
it's a 'blank' character which means the headers are over and it can  
append the Spamassassin tags.

I think this is a problem because there are messages which have for  
example white spaces(WS) followed by newlines in the header:

         \n

That code assumes that line is the end of the headers, but shouldn't  
the end be a new line that contains only \n ( or \r\n ) ?

Dear all,

I am trying to install a toaster and got into an issue with vpopmail  after
issuing make command

gcc     -o vchkpw vchkpw.o md5.o hmac_md5.o libvpopmail.a -Xlinker -R
-Xlinker /var/lib/mysql -L/var/lib/mysql  -lmysqlclient -lz -lm -lcrypt
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lmysqlclient

I am trying to install vpopmail 5.4.33 to mysql-5.5.30 on a CentOS 6 64bits
system

I have a qmail server running and for some reasons qmailadmin does not install, I have rebuild a new qmail server and the qmailadmin works fine same version of OS pretty much same configuration but does not want to listen about having qmailadmin running. So is there a way to use the new qmail server and run the qmailadmin from there to access the production qmail server?

mysql 5.1 and myisam to mysql 5.5 and innodb for tables.

qmail-inject closes pipe before vdelivermail has finished sending.

this causes a sigpipe error in vdelivermail, and gets feed back into 
qmail-inject as a signal 13 ( sigpipe ). The causes qmail-inject to 
think that the child ( vdelivermail ) crashed.

in the qmail log file:

Apparently qmail-inject stops processing the input file ( via pipe from 
vdelivermail:435 if ( write(write_fd, msgbuf, file_count) == -1 )) at 
the bogus line that cant be parsed any further.
Once the pipe is closed by qmail-inject, any further writes will get a 
sig-pipe error, and the process ( vdelivermail ) will die, as the signal 
processing is set to default ( ie terminate process ).

Somehow, qmail-inject has to process the rest of the file, even if there 
are parse errors, or vdelivermail has to recognize that a pipe can 
suddenly close up.

The qmailadmin list is getting spammed, so I thought I'd post this here 
as well.

I'm running qmailadmin 1.2.16 (with vpopmail 5.4.33), and when I click 
on an account's catchall button or otherwise attempt to change the 
catchall status for the domain, it simply returns a blank page without 
having changed anything. The url appears to be properly formatted, and I 
see what appears to be a normal message in the apache access log. I'm 
running QmailToaster on several hosts, and they all have this problem.

Will someone be so kind as to tell me how I might troubleshoot this?

I am using gentoo and installed netqmail from portage.

My mysql database is created and all of the vpopmail stuff inside but in
'no' way does vpopmail appear to be communicating with mysql

weird autoresponder behaviour

Dear all,
 
I don’t know if it is appropriate to post question on autoresponder here. 

I am experiencing an issue with autoresponder 2.0.5.
I had setup Send Vacation Auto-Response on my email account. 
The autoresponse works great.
When 2 accounts have turn on Auto-Response and send mail to each other 
it does not loop.
 
delivery 10: success:  AUTORESPOND:__Stopping_on_mail_from_[]./did_0+0+1/
 
But immediately, both the accounts are over quota.
 
delivery 12: failure: user_is_over_quota//

2 files are generated in the folder Maildir maildirsize and quotawarn

maildirsize contains
0S
24864 23

And whereas quotawarn is an empty file

Any idea what had caused this? Please enlighten me.

Hi All, I've setup a vpopmail at a svr and wish to perform smtp auth to 
another mysql svr at other host.

I've changed the /home/vpopmail/etc/vpopmail.mysql as below:
<remote_ip>|3306|vpopmail|vpoppass|vpopdb

but I keep on receiving this err msg:
vchkpw-submission: vpopmail user not found abc< at >test.com:127.0.0.1

However if I perform vuserinfo abc< at >test.com, I can retrieve the result.

Note, the vpopmail svr has no mysql installed.

after some "bad" migration my vpopmail "dir_control" table have some 
problems and need to be fixed but I don't know how.

I'm hosting, on this installation, 1000 domains so the cur_users value 
should be 1000, right?

[SPAM] Dovecot-lda for vpopmail

As many users of vpopmail we switched to dovecot for POP and IMAP.

I would like to switch also from maildrop to dovecot-lda. Many 
configuration are possibile but the best way is to patch vdelivermail to 
use dovecot-lda directly.

Has anyone solved the problem?

If someone wants to write a patch for me, I am willing to make a bid.
