<pre>Hi all,

I'm trying to configure an autoresponder for v1.4.22, and Paul sent me
here as a more appropriate place to ask my questions. I'm currently
using the Autorespond plugin, but I understand it's deprecated in
favor of the Server Settings plugin. Am I understanding that
correctly?

The Server Settings plugin seems to be much more complicated than
necessary for me. I've read through the README for that plugin, and am
confused about whether the functionality is included within the plugin
itself, or somehow is leveraged by another plugin? It says that it's
only an API, but it was released well after any of the plugins on the
Vacation page, so I was confused how it works.

If I were to chose a standalone vacation plugin instead, would it be
the "Local User Autoresponder and Mail Forwarder" plugin? I'm noticing
now that, although it doesn't have as many downloads, it was released
much more recently.

<pre>

Greetings,

Recently, due to a disk failure I made a quick decision to move our site
to a new machine running a fresh installation of CentOS 6 from a degrading
machine that was built on CentOS 5.

Since this was sudden, enough issues developed, but we've managed to
resolve a number of them. One that is still outstanding relates to
squirrelmail's html_plugin

In Squirrelmail, you can install a plugin called html_mail that allows you to
compose html-formatted email.

This plugin functions with Firefox and Internet Explorer; it doesn't function
in Google Chrome.

In CentOS 5 with PHP5.1 using html_mail, I would toggle the HTML source button.
Then, I could copy and paste html-formatted text with complicated html
(tables, css, etc) from a text editor into the the html-formatting pane of
squirrelmail, and the message would be delivered as html-formatted to the
recipients.

In CentOS 6, with PHP5.3, using Squirrelmail with the html_mail plugin, using
this same procedure (toggle html source to bring </pre>

As a squirrelmail / email administrator with root access, how do I determine which squirrelmail plug-ins have been installed?

There are several available "mail filter" plug-ins and I need to find out which one was installed in my installation.

Thanks...

<pre>Back in 2003, I collaborated with the original plugin author to improve this plugin,
adding import and better usability in released version 2.0.3. In 2006, I had an
idea for some enhanced functionality. Fredrik Jervfors coded that new functionality
(thanks Fredrik!), and posted two updated files to replace those in the Bookmarks
archive. The new code:

- Enables deletion of a folder with recursive deletion of any subfolders. - Enables
function to delete all bookmarks (to prepare to import a fresh set).

Fredrik's updated files were never added to the SM site. His update makes this a
much more useful tool, so I think that a revised package containing these new files
should be added to the SM plugins site.

How can we get this "latest" Bookmarks plugin package added to the site? (Perhaps it
doesn't conform to current plugin release standards, but it is nonetheless the most
recent release with better functionality than what's currently on the plugins page.)

I also have ideas and code regarding a possible new </pre>

<pre>Hi.
Hoping for a little help with the above mentioned plugin.

I'm using version 3.3-1.2 of the change_sqlpass with SquirrelMail 1.4.21

The plugin seems to work really well but when I change a password it logs me
out of squirrel mail with the error message :-

"ERROR
This page request could not be verified and appears to have expired.
Go to the login page"

I can then log in with the new password, so its updating the database fine
but I think there should be a message.
I'm using the en_US language configured in Squirrel.

Any pointers would be great.

I need to let my users know there is no problem, just log in with the new
details.

Thanks

Rob

<pre>Hi,

If we send an email composed in HTML with some body text and an attachment
from squirrel mail to squirrel mail, at receiving end the body text is not
received but it is added as an attachment "ATT-2.dat" along with the actual
attachment. In short, In my case, for some reason the text part of the body
text gets lost and only the attachment part arrives.

When we disable the html composition option in Squirrelmail, the mail
arrives with both the body text and the attachment fine. So the problem
seems to be related to the html_mail plugin. I installed the Standard
Squirrel Mail Version 1.4.22 and html_mail plugin and reproduced the issue
and can send the webmail URL for testing if required (in Private Only). We
are using PHP 5.2.14 on IIS7 and using hMailserver as Mailserver.

Any suggestions?

CAPTCHA plugin with captcha_php backend and PHP 5.4 -no image

<pre>Hi all,

I think I found a small issue with CAPTCHA plugin with captcha_php backend
using PHP 5.4.x. The issue is that the captcha image does not display on
the login page. The error in the apache error log:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Sun Jan 20 16:37:12 2013] [error] [client X.X.X.X] PHP Warning:
imagejpeg(): Filename cannot be empty in

on line 328
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't have the issue with PHP 5.3.x. It seems that the imagejpeg()
function behaviour has been changed with PHP 5.4.x.

The fix is simple (edit line 328 in
&lt;SQUIRRELMAIL_HOME_DIR_PATH&gt;/plugins/captcha/backends/captcha_php/captcha.php):
----------------------------------------------
   from: imagejpeg($img, "", (int)$quality);
     to: imagejpeg($img, NULL, (int)$quality);

Probably this could be fixed in the</pre>

"Yellow Sticker" Plugin -- any demand?

<pre>Today I implemented a "yellow sticker" functionality for SquirrelMail in
a plugin -- show some eye-catching text as a "yellow sticker" above the
folder list *if* a certain file is present, using the text (HTML,
actually) from that file.

We have been using functionality like this for a while, mainly to notify
our users of planned service outages and the like. The main idea is to
make it easy to use by just putting a file with a text somewhere, and
the contents is displayed; remove the file and the yellow sticker is
gone. Automation via at(1) can make it appear and disappear without
human intervention, if necessary.

I had implemented a previous version by hacking the code directly into
the SquirrelMail proper, but in between I have learned more about
plugins and what you can do with them, so I put that code into a plugin
I have written for some local things.

Now I wonder -- do other people feel the need for such a functionality?
I could extract the "yellow sticker" code to a separate, independent
plugin, wh</pre>

HEADS UP -- archive_mail plugin may delete messages

<pre>Summary:
In our installation, the archive_mail plugin has shown to cause the
unexpected deletion of e-mail messages. This may or may not apply to
other installations. I am not motivated to investigate the problem
further by myself, but am willing to help if someone else is interested.

The day before yesterday I received a report from one of our users who
had tried to use the archive plugin on the over 3000 messages in her
Inbox. She set the option to make SquirrelMail display 4000 messages at
a time, clocked on "Toggle All" to select all messages, and clicked on
"Archive". Several seconds later the message list simply appeared again,
only with all messages after March 7 2012 deleted.

Investigating the issue, I found I could reproduce it reliably with a
large number of messages in a mail folder -- when I click on "Archive",
the message list reappears after a short while -- suspiciously short,
actually -- and quite a number of messages is deleted, something like
1000 in this scenario. (I did not encounter t</pre>

PHP was recently upgraded to PHP 5.4. It appears that the custom_from
plugin is no longer working correctly with my environment.

I removed the existing custom_from directory from the plugins directory.
I downloaded custom_from-2.0-1.4.0 from squirrelmail repository. I
extracted the tarball to plugins directory, copied
config/config_example.php to config/config.php, and ran the squirrelmail
configure to ensure the custom_from was selected in the "Installed
Plugins" section. No changes were made to config.php. As I am running
version 1.4.23, I am under the impression the compatibility plugin is not
