I started getting this error from some of my users the only thing in common
with the users is I had to go into there .qmail file and pull out a second
copy of preline.

Which I believe came from importing there domain names from the old server.
And my qmail admin didn't show a check mark in the spam box, so when they
put a check in the box it added a second line. I'm not sure if the space
before preline is why the check mark didn't show up but easy enough to fix I
just deleted the first line.

But now those users are getting this error if they send to someone else in
there same domain.

Hi guys.. it's again me.. i have again the same problem, somebody is
sending alot of spam from my qmail server, looking
tail -f /var/log/maillog, I can't find any strange emails, it seems
everething ok.. last time i found some users which their passwords was
hacked, and from these accounts the spam was sending...
i thought the problem was solved, unfortunately it's still spamming

Hi,

I have a Qmail server running in a corprate enviroment since 3 years.  I
have 3 queries.. Somebody please suggest me if these can be solved :-)

1. I have set the attachment size in  in /var/*qmail*/control/databytes.
Now the size what I have specified in the databytes applies to all the
users. Is there a way I can specify different attachment size for different
catagory of users, say for developers is 4M, executives, is 8M, and
something which is how possible on MS exchange?

2. Marking on the above point, since we have attachment size set globally to
all the mailboxes, there are situations when there is possibility of choking
our internet bandwidth when every body are sending mails with attachments.
This is effecting our business mails to reach the recipients on time as it
is a first come first out.  Is there a way I can defer all the mails other
than the business mails which are in the queue?  LIke ex.  If in queue I see
so many mails to Yahoo, hotmail & the client domains too & I just need to
defer

Blocking mails to external id's

Id like to keep the separation on port 25, but instead of using 465 with ssl
use port 587.

 

Freebsd using the 3.0 qmailrocks installation.

ssl combining keys

New qmail rocks 3.0 server runs like a champ. But need help with combining
keys.

 

I requested a new certificate no problem, cat the new cert. and matching
.key file together no problem. But on the client end I get an ssl error .

 

The certificate's CN name does not match the passed value.

 

If I change the outgoing mail server in the client to the servername it goes
through in a blink of an eye. Like it is supposed to no message at all and
send the email on its way.

 

The problem is I have 80 or so domains and all there respective email
accouts setup with mail.theredomainname.xxx as the incoming and outgoing
servers.

 

Is there some way of passing the clients domain name through to the
certificate.

When a sender sends a mail with an attachment where the attachment size is
exceeding the limits mentioned in databytes, the sender will get a
notification that the size exceeded.  Is there a way even the recipient is
also notified. If so please help me.

451 qq temporary problem (#4.3.0)" when trying to send mail from qmail. and
logs in the " tail -f /var/spool/qmailscan/qmail-queue.log" says that
"error_condition: X-Antivirus-MYDOMAIN-1.25-st-qms: clamdscan: corrupt or
unknown clamd scanner error or memory/resource/perms problem - exit status
-1/72057594037927935". Kindly hep me.

I recently Installed a qmailrocks 3.0 installation on my freebsd8.2 server
took me about 5 attempts, all to do with my 2 years + but it runs great its
bullet proof and I love it. I am just writing this to let yawl know that you
can run John Simpsons migrate domain script from one wacked out older than
dirt vpopmail with sqwebmail no virus no spam, to a brand new vpopmail
qmailrocks server with no problems. It just created all the sqwebmail
folders but did not hurt any of the squirmail folders are my new lovely spam
folders or mess anything up at all. All of the dovecot and sqwebmail folders
are just sitting there waiting for me to delete them.

 

Just FYI because in reading all the material it seemed like the servers had
to alike.

Mr. was a victim of an attack. As I saw in the logs was used my qmail server
to spam. I wonder how I can do to prevent addresses that are not local
accounts from sending mail through of my smtp.

 

I hear suggestions of safety measures should I take.

Random broken email headers with Outlook

Hi to everybody

I subscribed to the list to ask about a problem that is bringing me
more of a headache

I run a mail server at work (a medium-sized university, with no so
heavy mail traffic). Basically, the problem is with all clients using
M$  Ooutlook 2003. All emails sent from there get the message  headers
broken or missing, both HTML or plain text e-mails.

This problem is not present when sending e-mail with other clients or
using RoundCube webmail

We are running QMail 1.03 + SpamAssasin + ClamAv + RBL

mails getting stuck in queue

Hi All,

I just setup a qmail server using qmailrocks.org. i'm having an issues
wherein some e-mails get stuck in the queue.

I check the logs i see these:

deferral: qmail-inject:_fatal:_unable_to_parse_this_line:

i think this one due to type error by the user.

may i know where do i start checking why some mails are getting stucked
in the queue? some e-mails can go out to the recipient ok, but some just
gets stuck.

to receive many messages from clients that use Hotmail, so...
