Because of this, slime-apropos-package fails. (apropos-symbol-face and
apropos-label-face are undefined).

For now I've set them to NIL but I hope there is a better solution
compatible with both emacs23 and emacs24.

providing swank-media

So I was trying to Nicolas Martyanoff's example of using slime-media up and running and I ran into a problem where swank-media wasn't providing swank-media. A trivial fix is attached, but perhaps I'm doing something else wrong. Anyone else see this?

Slime autocompletion for Common Lisp code

Hi,
I am trying to use slime-fuzzy-complete-symbol for common lisp code auto
completion. The Lisp dialect I am using is Allegro CL and Emacs is the IDE.
Under its common lisp mode, I use "M-x slime-mode" to enable slime for code
editing. My problem is, for example
(defun foo ()
  (form)
However, after pressing the tab key, it only prompts me (defun name varlist
&rest body) rather than the desired format function. I also note that under
*slime-repl allegro*, tab key generates a fuzzy completion list. What am I
missing here?

Hello everyone,

I've recently started using SLIME with SBCl on Debian, where SLIME 
defaults to using SBCL, at least when it is installed. So far I am very 
impressed. I haven't been able to take off and fly yet, but I'm on the 
runway.:-)

I'm particularly impressed by the underlining source which has compile 
errors, and doing a popup on mouseover feature. I don't know whose idea 
this was, but it is pretty damn cool. Does anyone know the history of this 
feature?

So, I have a question about SLIME. When debugging, or indeed otherwise, I 
find it useful to copy and paste S-expressions from a buffer to the REPL. 
I've been using the mouse for this, which is decidedly sub-optimal. I hate 
using the mouse. I was thinking that it would be handy to have a command 
which would copy and paste S-expressions from a buffer to the REPL, while 
at the same time switching the buffer to the REPL. The S-expression would 
be chosen by having the cusor to the right of the closing expression. I'm 
not sure if this positio

Swank Client and Swank Crew

I'd like to call your attention to two packages that leverage
SLIME's swank debugging protocol.  The first

 https://github.com/brown/swank-client

is an implementation of the client side of swank.  With Swank
Client one Lisp process can send forms to a remote Lisp for
evaluation.  If a condition is signaled in the remote Lisp, you
can see the stack trace in Emacs and debug it.  Here's some ASCII
art that shows the swank connections:

 Emacs/Slime ---- Master Lisp ---- Remote Lisp

Swank Crew uses Swank Client to create worker pools of remote
Lisp jobs.  You can then use functions like PARALLEL-MAPCAR
or PARALLEL-REDUCE to evaluate forms across many worker Lisp jobs.

backward-sexp and slime-pprint-eval-last-expression

I've been using slime-pprint-eval-last-expression on some expressions in .files in slime and came across the following:

works fine, but

#2A((0))

doesn't, as slime relies on emacs' backward-sexp to compute the sexp to eval. Would it be desirable to extend this to be reader-macro aware?

I had a desire for a slime-pprint-eval-region and cobbled together the following patch. It's bound to C-c C-f and allows one to highlight a region and then evaluate it. This is helpful in particular when dealing with forms with reader macros in them that aren't properly read by emacs' backward-sexp function.

Any interest in seeing something like this in the canonical slime.el?

at the end of every line in the slime repl on Windows?
