<pre>
Just in time for Mother's day (for those geeking Mom's everywhere), we
have yet another snapshot in a long line of monthly snapshots.

Only a few changes this month since the April snapshot was delayed for
quite some time:

* Clean ups of the Config file and removal of some outdated and unused
 Configs.
* Some speed ups in gencgc on most platforms.

Binaries will be uploaded soon.

The April snapshot has been tagged and binaries will be uploaded
shortly.

The delay in the snapshot was caused by a move of common-lisp.net to a
new place. I think everything has been restored and working as
before. Certainly the git repo has been restored along with trac.

Sorry for the delay.

A new snapshot

<pre>Due to a mistake I introduced in the 2013-02 snapshot that persists in the
2013-03 snapshot, that I just released, I'm taking the unusual step of
generating a new 2013-03-a snapshot.

The error is in the new function do-unary-byte-bash that is used in replace
and other places. The problem is that replace doesn't do what it's
supposed to do. This breaks lots of things, so rather than wait until
April, I've decided to do another snapshot.

The tag is snapshot-2013-03-a and is based on the current git code which
has the fix and an update to unicode 6.2.

Sorry about that.

ASDF support for deferred warnings in CMUCL?

<pre>Dear CMUCL developers,

I've been adding support for ASDF to save deferred warnings
(typically, forward function references) in a file,
so that if you do an incremental compilation, warnings
from previously compiled files are still correctly handled
at the end of the virtual with-compilation-unit.

I've added support for SBCL and CCL myself, which was made
much easier by being able to read the source code to their compilers,
but I don't feel like groveling through four more free sofware compilers.
Would you be interested in implementing the same feature for CMUCL,
or at least in guiding me on how to do so?
The code is mainly in asdf/lisp-build.lisp functions
reify-deferred-warnings unreify-deferred-warnings reset-deferred-warnings.

CMUCL bug when compiling defclass

<pre>While trying to upgrade ASDF from 2.017 to 2.26 on CMUCL 20c,
we observed a bug that we believe is due to how CMUCL compiles defclass.

CMUCL fails on the defmethod shared-initialize :after, because, says it,
operation-forced-not is not a defined function.
Yet the function is defined two forms above as an accessor in defclass
operation,
and it doesn't error out when compiling the file from clean
rather than from a situation where a previous asdf was loaded.
Presumably, CMUCL fails to properly process the defclass
because it believes the defclass already happened.

Yet, and this is probably a second bug:
why should an undefined function in this case be an ERROR and not just
a style-warning?

If I fix this problem, then similar issues crop up with %system-source-file.
I issued a workaround in ASDF 2.26.5.

<pre>Just in time for Labor Day weekend, yet another cmucl snapshot.
Binaries will be uploaded shortly.

Just a few minor changes, including an update to asdf 2.24 and some
microoptimizations.

<pre>Just in time for the Olympics, the August snapshot has been tagged.
Binaries will be uploaded soon.

The main changes for this snapshot are:

o full support for compiling cmucl with clang[1], and Mac OS X 10.7
(Lion) can build cmucl without problems.
o Updated ASDF
o Some cleanups in allocation which simplified the allocation.

This snapshot requires a cross-compile on x86 due to the allocation
changes. Use src/bootfiles/20c/boot-2010-07-1-cross-x86.lisp as the
cross-compile script.

[1] The problem with clang was that the C allocation routines did not
save the xmm registers so that under certain conditions the C code would
trash a live xmm register, producing totally bogus results.

<pre>The July snapshot has been tagged and binaries have been uploaded.

Only a few minor changes for this month, including an update of asdf2,
and some minor changes to support building with clang, which currently
still doesn't quite work.
