<pre>Hi everyone,

Inspired by the post from Benjamin Kerensa to this list, I asked him
to write up an Oregon progress story for the ubuntu-us.org blog.

The result is here:
http://ubuntu-us.org/2011/09/26/ubuntu-oregon-progress-can-be-made/

Thanks bkerensa!

<pre>Hi Ubuntu MA Team,

OpenStack/Rackspace will be holding a conference in October:
http://www.openstack.org/blog/2011/09/openstack-conference-registration-are-you-coming

OpenStack's Community Manager is very friendly to the Ubuntu Community
and in fact sponsored some t-shirts for our Global Jam. I think it would
be very likely that he would be able to make it possible for some Ubuntu
MA people to be there and I know Canonical has a handful of people going.

Their Community Manager's name is Stephen Spector and his e-mail is
Stephen.Spector (at) OpenStack (dot) org

Best of Luck!

Ubuntu Oregon: Progress Update

<pre>Hi LoCo Council &amp; Ubuntu Americas,

I wanted to provide a update on Ubuntu Oregon for your review:

Ubuntu Oregon had gone pretty silent for a number of months due to what
I believe was a lack of motivation from anyone to lead the team. I
personally was disappointed about the lack of events and during OSCON I
took the lead and have been working hard to bring things together.
Ubuntu Oregon had multiple members at OSCON and worked with the Ubuntu
Washington Team to man a booth every day of the expo and we also pulled
off a popular Ubuntu Global Jam and had approximately 15+ people in
attendance. Myself and one other member ran a Ubuntu Booth at PuppetConf
this entire past week which went very well and we distributed nearly 50
Desktop CD's and 30 Server CD's and Four Bags of Ubuntu Lanyards.

Some Improvements in Ubuntu Oregon:

    * Ubuntu Oregon's IRC grew from 4 users to 26 since the end of July
      of this year
    * Ubuntu Oregon holds regular monthly meetings on IRC and had not
      done this</pre>

<pre>Hi everyone:

Just in case you're not on Ubuntu Loco-contacts, We've picked dates
for the Ubuntu Global Jam for this cycle, 2-4
September 2011. Here's the details:

http://loco.ubuntu.com/events/global/1011/detail/
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuGlobalJam

This give us a full 6 weeks to prepare for events. As always, anyone
is encouraged to run prep sessions prior to the event in order to make
them fun and inclusive. Woo!

Interested in writing for ubuntu-us.org?

<pre>Hi everyone,

Over the past year or so the burden of writing articles for
ubuntu-us.org has been on Amber of the North Carolina LoCo and myself.
We're both quite busy so that means the site isn't updated much!

Have interest in writing an article for it from time to time? Want to
talk about the awesome work your LoCo is doing? Have an idea for an
article you think I should write? Know of an awesome wiki page that
you think other LoCos should know about? Please let me know and we'll
get you set up as a contributor.

Also, we still run planet.ubuntu-us.org, so if you're a member of a US
LoCo team that has an rss feed but isn't aggregated there let me know
and we'll get your team's feed added.

How do I make a Copy to install later?
