Dear everyone,

The problems corrected are the following:
1/ The driver failed to compile under 3.3.4 kernel.
2/ Worked upon kernel oops.

Now both $ efax -vewinchmart and $ stty -F /dev/modem -a work correctly
without any kernel oops. This has been tested with a 536EP modem.

Because we switched to VoIP for cost reasons, I am unable to test with
wvdial, kppp, hylafax, minicom. If someone is willing to make tests, his
feedback remains welcomed. Also if someone else is owning a 537EP modem,
I'd be glad to hear from.

Yours truly,

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to make my modem work as phone but I found a lot of issue:

I don't know the AT command to stop AT+VRX.

Don't know how to do full duplex:
(if i use AT+VTX+VRX it let me just send, AT+VRX+VTX just receive)

Need a full AT command list but really don't know where to find it after
hours and hours of research...

When i try to call someone:
AT+FCLASS=8\r
AT+VLS=1\r
ATD <NUMBER>;\r (or ATD<NUMBER>\r)
It starts calling, but if i give ANY command it tells me: "NO CARRIER"
and stop calling... I don't know how to disable carrier detection and
ATS10=255 doesn't work. (Even some other commands i tried [AT&C0/1] etc...)

I'm really going mad!

These are my informations:

intel 537. system halted

Hi:

I am trying to install the intel 537 modem under Ubuntu Oneiric. I am
following the linmodem, Philippe Vouters and other guides. I have experience
with Agere and Conexant modem but I need to install a intel 537.

I have the intel 537 code, it was downloaded from:
<http://vouters.dyndns.org/Intel/intel-536EP-537EP_2011_12_11.tar.bz2>

I solved the problem with Ubuntu distributions about the autoconf.h missing.
My solution is:
ln -sf /lib/modules/3.0.0-16-generic/build/include/generated/autoconf.h
/lib/modules/3.0.0-16-generic/build/include/linux/autoconf.h

Also, I edited the 537_inst script and modified the "Kernel Version"
detection for to accept the version 3.x, see:
   2.6* | 3.*)
      KMS="ko"  # Kernel Module Suffix
      ;;

The code was compiled successfully BUT the wvdialconf don't detect my modem.
I edited the wvdial.conf with the requirement options manually and executed
the wvdial BUT the system is halted (freezes).

I tested with other version with the same result; they are like:
intel-53

Installed kppp despite VoIP and played with

Dear Jacques, Wolfgang,

I just downloaded the adequate RPM for Fedora 16 containing kppp. From a
root account, I ran strace over kppp. Because there are numerous open
calls, I edited the file and searched for the "kppp" string.

First kppp attempts to open /root/.kde/share/config/kppprc. From this it
knows what it must do, therefore directly proposing for me a connection
my old tiscali provider. Next as I previously specified /dev/modem in
this configuration, it opens /dev/modem and tries to connect. Because
the modem is no longer connected to an analog phone line, kppp fails
with a NO DIALTONE. So its sounds so far very sane.

Yours truly,
Philippe

Suse 12.1

Hello,

I have a USB Modem and a PCI Modem-Card. My system is a Suse 12.1 with
the following characterisrica:

Linux twisrv 3.1.9-1.4-default #1 SMP Fri Jan 27 08:55:10 UTC 2012 (efb5ff4) i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

The characteristica of the Modems can be seen in the attached file
(any more necessary?). The USB-Modem is working like a charme. But the
PCI-Modem not. The slmodem and ungrab-winmodem sources I found are
only for kernel 2.x. Are there any versions for 3.1 Kernels?

Thanks in advance,
Thomas Only plain text email is forwarded by the Discuss< at >Linmodems.org List Server,
