there are none.

Internet Explorer 9 vs iDRAC7 remote console

<pre>We've been seeing intermittent issues with this -- the remote console fails to start, or once started then stops with "session disconnect" in the bottom left-land-corner of the screen. Sometimes it just hangs (for hours -- I have a lot of patience). Restarting IE seems to resolve this, but then I only start IE just to connect to the iDRAC so it seems wrong. Resetting the iDRAC also helps often.

IE 8 seems not so bad.

We've updated to latest 1.37.35 firmware. We use native access (activeX not java). These are Enterprise iDRAC with their own Ethernet interface, we have 6 on various models (r620 r720), all seem to show similar symptoms.

Is there any magic to getting remote console to reliably work?

<pre>Hello all,

I would like to convert a single-drive RAID0 to a two-drive RAID1.  On
page 237 of v7.1 of the OMSA guide[1], it mentions that it may be
possible to convert drives to a different RAID level using omconfig.

The RAID0 was created with this command:

# omconfig storage controller action=createvdisk controller=0 raid=r0
size=max pdisk=0:2

I would now like to convert that to a RAID1 using the drive at 0:3
using this command:

# omconfig storage controller action=reconfigure controller=0 vdisk=1
raid=r1 size=max pdisk=0:2,0:3

However, when I try that, I get this error:

have configured trunk mode. I have named the etho and eth1 as em1 and em2,
If I configure bonding, the network gets up, I can ping the gateway and can
reach internet. The problem is after I configure bonding and bridge the
interfaces are getting up but I cannot ping the gateway, cannot ping the
server from the switch also. Any idea what is going wrong? Below is the
ifconfig output:

I'm already running BIOS A07, which (AFAIK) is the latest/last available for a PE2850.

I can add "force_function_unhide=1" to the options for e752x_core, but will that interfere with other Dell components? This server does have a DRAC 4/I card installed, but is not (yet) running OMSA. [In fact, I think 7.2 drops support for the 2850, so it might never run OMSA...]

<pre>Hello,

We have several PowerEdge T310 servers with an iDrac6 Enterprise card. All work fine, except the one server which has a very peculiar problem. I called Dell tech support, but they did not have an answer for me and recommended I posted to this list.
The problem is as follows:
When executing "racadm" with any subcommand except for help, it does not provide any visible output. The return code is "2".

Sample output:
[root&lt; at &gt;sv1 ~]# racadm getniccfg
[root&lt; at &gt;sv1 ~]# echo $?
2

The card itself seems to work fine, I can log into the Drac web interface. Openmanage is installed on the server and that webpage is also working. Both webpages provide no warnings or errors that something should be wrong.

We have (among others) the following pieces of software on this system:
dell-omsa-repository-2-5
srvadmin-all-7.2.0-4.9.1.el5

Linux version as follows: 2.6.18-164.15.1.el5, it's a CentOS 5 system.

Firmware versions:
IDRAC6 ENTERPRISE: 1.95.00 (Build 5)
BIOS: 1.8.2

Dell tech support asked me to try a remote rac ses</pre>

<pre>Hello,

I have a PowerEdge 1850 with a fresh install of CentOS 6.4. Today I
successfully installed OMSA 7.2.0, but when I start it, I get the following
IPMI error:

Starting DSM SA Connection Service: [ OK ]

I've installed and am running OpenIPMI, and I've tried adding "Nahant" to
my redhat-release file, but the error remains. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Brad

<pre>Hi All,
The OpenManage 7.2.1 yum repository has been posted and latest symbolic link is updated.
http://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/latest/

You can use this repo to install OMSA 7.2 and update latest firmware's on PowerEdge servers.

Known Issue:-
iDrac support on RHEL5-32 bit OS for 10G modular systems (M600, M605, M805 and M905) is not available in this release. Please use the DUPs from support site.

Thanks,
