    <title>Why don't you donate a few euros to Gammu?</title>
    <link>http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.linux.drivers.gammu/5896</link>
<description>Finally Michal has started a pledge for donations in order to buy a
second-hand Nokia phone.

A donation, now that is needed, is really deserved. He is asking for
just €100: that is 5 euro for 20 persons (18, I just donated 10 euro), that
is probably less than 10% of our monthly cell phone bill.

Michal is developing gammu and wammu without a S40 Nokia phone to
test his progresses. I wonder how he made this far without a real phone
in his hands. There are still rough edges that Michel is willing to smooth
but it is obviously too hard and cumbersome to develop extensive support
for our phones without having any testing hardware to play with.

I, like many of you, use gammu on a daily basis. I also filed a dozen of
bugs that have been closed pretty soon. I think you have similar
experiences to share.

I hope we will raise that little sum quickly. Go donate ;)

Bye,

    <description>Hello,

I've tried to use filesystem oriented commands with Siemens A60 and had no luck at first. But after investigating original Siemens Data Suite behavior I found out that it always used AT^SQWE=0 before issuing AT^SQWE=3. I've tried to issue AT^SQWE=0 in minicom before launching gammu and indeed it works. Another issue with OBEX was that to leave this mode you should disconnect using +++ and drop DSR/DTR/RTS/CTS (whatever).

Hope this helps,
Victor Shkamerda

    <title>Sierra AirCard 860 question</title>
    <link>http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.linux.drivers.gammu/5827</link>
<description>Hi everyone! I'm new to this list, but I've been using python-gammu for
several months now--love it.

I have a weird question about one of the devices I'm trying out with
python-gammu. I was able to my little Sony Ericsson phone to work
brilliantly over bluetooth AT. I also tried out a Sierra AirCard 860.
It, too, works--for the most part. I can send and receive and so forth.
I ran into a weird issue, though, with the SMS callback. The callback
works fine on all the phones I've tried, but I don't seem to get a
response from the AirCard. The messages show up in the UnSent folder
when I check there, but, for some reason, there's no event that gets
fired.

My question is, is there a specific event that the hardware throws out
when an incoming SMS happens? Is that what Gammu reads? Or is Gammu
polling the inbox and creating its own event when something new shows
up? I'm curious to see if there's something I can test on the AirCard
with an AT command--maybe the AirCard is missing a "callback event"

using the at interface via USB, I can synchronize phone numbers, dates,

Is this a known issue? Is this expected? Is there a workaround?

I am not at the box where it happened on, so I can't check version

If you need information from me, if I should trace the file or whatever
