<pre>Dear linux-dvb users,

A long time ago, we've merged analog and digital ML's into just one list.
As result, a new mailing list were created, at kernel.org facilities, meant
to be used by those envolved on adding open source support on Linux for
all sorts of radio, analog TV, digital TV and webcam support. The traffic
at the video4linux and linux-dvb ML's were gradually moved to the new ML.

However, still today, people sometimes send useful messages to this ML, believing
that the list is still active. However, no developers are reading from this ML
anymore, and any comments send to this ML will probably be just not read.
The same were happening with video4linux ML.

To avoid frustating people that are sending messages to this ML, I'm removing all
subscribed users from this ML, and blocking and further subscriptions.

If you're interested on Linux DVB, please use linux-media&lt; at &gt;vger.kernel.org.

To subscribe, all you need to do is to send a message to: majordomo&lt; at &gt;vger.kernel.org
with "subscribe linux-media" at t</pre>

Terratec Cinergy C HD - CAM support.... Need help?

<pre>Hi All,

I need something but willing to help out!

I just got my Terratec Cinergy C HD card. After relatively minor issues I got
the card running on my Mandriva 2010.2 (kernel 2.6.33) myth box.

But... I am getting my DVB-C signal from the Ziggo (former Casema) network. I
found a post that claims that all channels are encrypted (except for Nederland
1). Even though these are the standard channels that you also get when you
just have an analog subscription.

So. I need CAM support. After a couple of nights swimming the net I come to
the conclusion that

a) CAM support is currently not implemented
b) This support has been not implemented for quite some time
c) There are more people that would like it to work...

So, dear people, is anyone working on getting the CAM to work on the Terratec
Cinergy C HD card, but having problems? Is there any way, shape or form that I
can assist in getting this support done?

Or have we given up on this card and should I just take my loss and go for
another card... If s</pre>

<pre>Hello All,

I've tried to use my A306 board on my system. All the main chips are fully
supported by linux.

At this stage the CX23385 and the tuner: xc3028 seem to respond properly. But
the DVB-T chip (af9013) is silent. Nevertheless both chips are visible on the
I2C bus.

I've no full datasheet of theses chips. with exception of the af9013 where this
information is available:
http://wenku.baidu.com/view/42240f72f242336c1eb95e08.html

At this stage the CLK signal of the DVB-T chip may be missing or something is
wrong elsewhere.

If you have the datasheets... Any help will be appreciated.

Best Regards,
Wallak.

The card is detected and seem to work. I am able to watch existing
channels, and even found some DVB-S2 transponders.

But the machine is very unstable. After a while, I get a lot of

Or can someone help me make it work? Is it necessary to make a module

necessary? I can't find any .bin file to begin with...Is it even
possible for linux to support it?

Thanks in advance and keep the fantastic work you've done

analog OTA tuning

<pre>Hi,

I need to tune analog OTA channels from a pci-e card. I bought the
following card:

http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_WinTV-HVR-2200 (I actually have
the 2250)

after installing and downloading the firmware etc, this works fine when
tuning the digital OTA signal that I can see locally.

I am unsure how to change the frontend to attempt to tune analog tv input or
even if this is supported, can someone point me in the right direction to do
this? It looks like I would need to change the tuner type in the driver code
(if analog is supported)

I am aware that no analog broadcasts exist anymore in the US, but where this
will eventually be used still has analog OTA broadcasts.
My test setup for now includes a digital to analog converter, which i would
like to tune with this card, once this works I would test with the actual
OTA signal.

Looking at the tuner chip on the card, suggests that it is possible. The
link on the wiki for the chip is outdated it seems, this is what I found on
the nxp site:

05:00.0 Multimedia controller [0480]: Philips Semiconductors SAA7146
[1131:7146] (rev 01)
        Subsystem: KNC One Device [1894:0022]
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 16
        Memory at ff700000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=512]
        Kernel driver in use: budget_av
        Kernel modules: budget-av

As you can see, the device is detected and modules loaded :

v4l AverMedia M115S Tuner Problem

<pre>Hello

i have a Sony-Vaio VGN-AR31S with a Avermedia M115S ( hybrid-tuner).
has anyone get this card working ? I have tried many tuners with saa7134 card=137 tuner=XX.

But no tuner works/loads.

The video-capture for Sony VCC4 cam (r5u87x) works perfect. The Vaio can not boot to any other operationg system
like windows. Ubuntu/OpenSuse only works with kernel-params “nolapic”.

Has anyone a hint or a tip for me?

Best regards

Sven

<pre>Good day to you all.
My question is simple:
it would be possible to write a program like ndiswrapper for dvb drivers?
Just think: only a small initial effort to write a program that can use
hundreds of DVB drivers taken from the Windows world...

<pre>Pinnacle PCTV Dual DVB-T Pro PCI 2000i (http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB-
T_PCI_Cards#Pinnacle) was introduced in 2006 and after 5 years it is still
unsupported in linux!
Unbelievable!
Yet its chips Zarlink ZL10353 (http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.
php/Zarlink_ZL10353) and Microtune MT2060 (http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.
php/Microtune_MT2060) are supported (http://www.linuxtv.
org/downloads/drivers/linux-media-LATEST.tar.bz2)!
So, what is missing?
Probably this is the reason why Linux is not so widespread: LACK OF DRIVERS!
And this is the reason why a lot of users cannot migrate to Linux and are
forced to use that stupid O.S. called Win****!
If anyone wants to have a look at Windows' drivers and is able to develop
drivers (I'm not), here are the drivers:
ftp://ftp.pctvsystems.com/TV/driver/PCTV%202000i/PCTV%20250i%202000i.zip

Sorry for the outburst.

Technisat Cablestar HD2 not automatically detected bykernel > 2.6.33?

<pre>Good evening,

I got this card and it doesn't seem to be detected by Ubuntu 10.4.2 with
kernel 2.6.35(-25-generic #44~lucid1-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jan 25 19:17:25 UTC
2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux)

The wiki seems to indicate that this card is supported as of kernel
2.6.33, however it doesn't show up as a dvb-adapter.

I checked if it is the same card as on the wiki and it seems to be
looking at the device-id:

01:0a.0 Multimedia controller: Twinhan Technology Co. Ltd Mantis DTV PCI
Bridge Controller [Ver 1.0] (rev 01)
     Subsystem: Device 1ae4:0002

Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 15
     Region 0: Memory at cbfff000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=4K]

I performed "modprobe mantis" and it seems to load op the correct
modules just fine:

Good day all
Hello;

1- I(humble) want alsa "forward" the sound from tvtime to hw:1,0 .How to
map the analog output to the digital output using alsa ?

2 - I(humble) use this command to see a TV channel with VLC :

vlc v4l2:///dev/video0 :input-slave=alsa://hw:1,0 :v4l2-standard=1
:v4l2-tuner-frequency=583250

OR

mplayer -ao alsa -tv
alsa:adevice=hw.1,0:immediatemode=0:forceaudio:chanlist=us-bcast tv://

How to create a list of channels (with different frequencies) in VLC or
Mplayer?
