<pre>Dear Bug Team!

When I view some simple HTML using the new w3 (package versions 1.37,
1.38), lists have an excessive amount of indentation. This is bad
enough to make w3 unusable IMO.

For example:

21.5.31 Mule and the ’ symbol (input method?)

<pre>

Hello

I sent this mail to the list via gmane and it did not pass it seems, so I
send it again.

symbol ’ is used, as in j’ai instead of j'ai.

Now this is perfectly displayed (en encoded via UTF8) in
21.5.31 Mule, however I cannot find any input method for
this symbol.

Well this is not entirely true. latin-ltx includes it:
typing \rq results in ’
but this looks cumbersome.

Hi XEmacs team:

I'm running
XEmacs 21.5 (beta31) "ginger" [Lucid] (x86_64-pc-linux) of Thu Mar 22 2012 on x201

I've gotten the same crash a few times in the last few days. I believe
that a patch for this exact problem has been submitted (not by me).

What would it take to get this patch applied?

     Thanks,

     - Charles

Dear Bug Team!

This is a corefile from a spontaneous SIGBUS crash in xemacs. It was
connected to an Open Text Exceed X server (ver 14.0.3.453) running on a
WinXP box. The xemacs window was minimized, and it crashed when I
clicked on it in the Windows taskbar to restore it. The X server's log
file contains nothing useful.

Hope this helps...

Subject: [Bug: 21.4.22] crash on loading new tex file
--text follows this line--
================================================================
Dear Bug Team!

I have been running xemacs on my OS-X Lion laptop for about one month with
no problems. Today xemacs crashed when I tried to open a new tex file
with it. After some experimentation, I found that it was crashing
whenever presented with a tex file that it had not written, including an
empty file. It continues to operate normally with files that it had
previously edited.

I will append a gdb backtrace, obtained by

gdb /opt/local/bin/xemacs

then starting xemacs in gdb, then trying to open a non-existent tex
file new.tex:

Yours,
David Vogan

Want to add go-mode to prog-modes, OK?

<pre>Hi,

With the recent support of character classes, thanks Aidan, go-mode
almost works out of the box now. With box meaning being part of the go
lang distribution.

I have submitted a patch to the go-project that makes it work under
XEmacs 21.5 and GNU Emacs. I'll see if it gets accepted.

Nevertheless the I would like to add it to the packages. prog-modes
seems to be the natural place for it since it is just a single file
mode. (I know it ought to work with 21.4 as well but it doesn't.)

So the next step would be to update prog-mode.info and add some
autoload-statements to make it a proper citizen under prog-modes. OK?

There is also a copyright text issue. go-mode, as the whole go
project, is under the modified BSD-license. That is compatible with
GPL so that is OK. However there is no copyright text in the
go-mode.el file. What is the proper thing to do here? Add the LICENSE
text to the top of the file, just refer to it or do nothing?

Yours

<pre>What is the status of running 21.5 (beta31) on OS X Lion? What do I need to be aware of in terms of compiling the source? I am considering installing Lion on my Macs, but do not want to lose the ability to compile and use XEmacs. I would like to hear if any regular XEmacs users are able to successfully compile the sources in the latest Mercurial repository, and what they had to do to get a compiler running that would support the compilation--having read a number of problems reported with macports compilations that required GNU CC.

<pre>Hello,

My xemacs which had worked for a long time with no problem stopped working a few days ago - I could not save or save as any tex files I opened.
The error was

Window hight 0 too small (after splitting).

I uninstalled xemacs, updated all ports, installed it again and now it crashes and does not even open the tex file.

I tried to obtain the core but it was not found (I do not have xdb or sdb)

<pre>I noticed some odd behavior with text overwriting the modeline. I've
started to put together a bug report, but I thought I'd first check to
see if the issue has already been reported.

Went to the tracker, clicked on Search, entered "modeline" in the "All
text" field. Clicked on Search. The tracker brought up a page with 3
issues (785, 778, 798). But at the top and bottom it says "1..7 out of
7". Is the tracker confused, or it it hiding the other 4 bugs?

I get the same behavior whether or not I'm logged into the tracker.

<pre>Sometime ago, I had asked about setting up fonts on xemacs. This has been
working beautifully on my mac with xft:

(define-specifier-tag 'lang-kr)
(set-face-font 'default "Apple Gothic-12" '(lang-kr) 'remove-tag-set-append)

But now I want this to work on my linux (ubuntu) system. I changed the
font to Dejavu Sans (and others that fc-list :lang=kr lists) but nothing
seems to work. Whenever I try to display Korean characters, all I get is
an error message about being unable to instantiate the charset
korean-ksc5601.

How do I set this up to display this?

(As an aside, I tried this on my mac using other fonts for Japanese,
Chinese, and Arabic, just for fun. The display for Japanese and Chinese
look right, but I can't get arabic to display. I would like, someday, to
display all of the HELLO page.)
