Would it be ok to add a Quick install instructions portlet in /products are

"For generic Plone add-on installation guidelines please consult this

This is mostly to tackle the issues with not specific installation
instructions in add-on rEADMEs.

Request for assistance: some roadmap-related Tracchanges

<pre>Hi all!

On behalf of the Plone Roadmap team, I have a few small requests for
changes to our Trac instance, intended to eliminate confusion possibly
caused by the old "http://dev.plone.org/roadmap" report being mistaken
for the actual new Plone Roadmap (http://plone.org/roadmap). We
believe that the Trac "roadmap" template is still useful, but that it
is more of a "PLIP Status Report" than a true roadmap, and to that
end, we would like to see the following changes:

1) Establish a 301 Redirect from http://dev.plone.org/roadmap to
http://plone.org/roadmap (to preserve inbound links/googlejuice).

2) Rename the existing Trac 'http://dev.plone.org/roadmap' template
to "http://dev.plone.org/plips"

3) Update any internal links pointing to http://dev.plone.org/roadmap
within Trac (I'm not aware of any, but haven't checked thoroughly)

4) Include a link in the Trac PLIPs template
(http://dev.plone.org/plips) saying "Looking for the Plone Roadmap?

<pre>Hi all

The web followup on the Plone conferences can improve. (Please pardon my
leaving out many "IMHO" below.)

- The current conference site should link to previous conferences, or to
 http://plone.org/events/conferences/
 This improves continuity and better rewards the investment in preparing &amp;
 recording of previous years' sessions.

- The conference pages under http://plone.org/events/conferences/ are mostly
calls for proposals. After a conference, the call for proposals should be
moved into an archive folder, and be replaced by links to retrospectives and
 recordings of sessions.

- The official conference sites are naturally forward-looking (last year's site
starts with: "Almost time!"). However this means that they're not useful
to revisit after the fact. It would be cool if they aggregated and/or
collected photos, posts, etc. about the event.

Actually the schedule in the http://2011.ploneconf.org/ site links to Fuze
audio recordings of the sessions, and the site has a "Watch the</pre>

<pre>Hello,

I was adding a new Plone site
http://plone.org/support/sites/adayacantabria when I noticed that the
provider list was empty and that in our company page the deployed sites
are now missing, see
http://plone.org/support/providers/k-gigas-computers-s-l , this is also
true for others well known Spanish company and I believe for non-spanish
company as well.

I think this could be related to some other errors that Plone.org
reports when you search for "Hosting Provider" category, like
http://plone.org/&lt; at &gt;&lt; at &gt;search?Subject%3Alist=Hosting%20provider

<pre>Hi all-

Sean Kelly and I have been investigating the state of the plone.org
LDAP database, and we have some recommendations to bounce off of the
larger community.

We have about 58k accounts in the plone.org LDAP system, which
backends authentication for plone.org, dev.plone.org (trac) and is
synced to github. The vast, vast majority of these accounts (all but
about 2000) are pretty obviously bogus/spam accounts, and most of
these (but not all) were created back in the days when we had a
vulnerability (now closed) related to member portraits, which made it
worthwhile to try to create spam user accounts.

Sean and I believe we can easily nuke all of these accounts with
minimal collateral damage to legit accounts by removing all accounts
that are NOT members of a plone.org LDAP group (e.g. committers,
collective committers, etc.) AND also have not ever created a record
in the Trac database (e.g. a bug report or a comment) AND don't own an
item in http://plone.org/support/sites or

stackoverflow.com has issues by non-Plone specific moderations closing
questions as invalid:

Drupal already has one:

I don't know what the task involves, yet. But probably

* Someone needs make stackxchange.com Plone theme

* Assign initial admins

* Migrate plone questions from stackoverflow.com

<pre>Hey,

I have created a Netlog profile with my pictures, videos, blogs and events and I want to add you as a friend so you can see it. You first need to register on Netlog! When you log in, you can create your own profile.

Take a look:

Starting Plone specific Stackxchange?

<pre>Hi,

I believe we should start Plone specific Stackxchange network.

stackoverflow.com has issues by non-Plone specific moderations closing
questions as invalid:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8745064/receive-an-email-when-someone-join-to-the-portal

Drupal already has one:

http://drupal.stackexchange.com/

I don't know what the task involves, yet. But probably

* Someone needs make stackxchange.com Plone theme

* Assign initial admins

* Migrate plone questions from stackoverflow.com

Cheers,
Mikko

Team Information Guidelines

<pre>Hello,

the Board has defined a "Team Information Guidelines" document (
http://plone.org/foundation/committees/guidelines) aimed to obtain basic
information for each Team to publish on plone.org and keep maintained along
the years.

We'd love to have all the teams online with their informations as soon as
possible, so I warmly invite the Plone WebSite Team per its leader to
follow up on this.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon,

Maurizio
