Hi all,

I am the project leader of LDAP Account Manager
(http://www.ldap-account-manager.org/) which also supports phpGroupware.
It looks like the project is dead. :(

Is there any fork of the software etc. that continued this project? Then
I would check if I can support this follow-up project.
Otherwise, I would have to simply remove my phpGroupware plugins... :(

Best regards

Roland

Could you remind me of what the project was so I can determine if I would

me to give him the dns record so he can host them. He wants to "do
things with the project".

I just host the server so I don't feel like I have any authority to
hand anything over to him. Since the DNS was stolen away by Dan, I
can't email the CT list about this, so I'm posting it here publicly.

Does the project leadership approve this DNS move? If there's no
answer at all, I'll consider the project defunct and turn off the
server, keeping the image for historical purposes.

For some history, in case no one remembers, the reason we have DNS
with the site hosting is because in the past it would take days or
weeks for Dan to respond to any change requests.

<pre>This mostly just an FYI. In case you didn't know or forgot, I'm
hosting the web and list server. I'm not very active in the project
any more, but I don't have a problem continuing to host the server.
Dave took care of the software maintenance on it though, so someone
should probably take that up if he's no longer doing it.

I've been doing some server consolidation, so I'm going to migrate the
server to a virtual machine. It's currently running on a AMD XP 2600+
1GB ram and a single 80GB PATA disk with only 9GB used. once migrated
it'll still have 1GB ram, and vCPU but on a Opteron 265, and I'll give
it a 15GB virtual disk that will reside on a scsi raid10 array. This
should be an upgrade, if not in performance then certainly in
redundancy. There will be some downtime as I copy the 9GB of data off
the HDD, I plan on starting in a couple hours.

I'm also in process of switching to a new internet provider so the IP
address will be changing. DNS is hosted externally and I have access
to that, you should </pre>

<pre>Hi all,

I'm doing some fixes today, roughly checking for typos with an in house
script that count occurrences of a var in a function (that's really
really basic).

I have a proposition for third-party libraries that we are using
straight from upstream :

We can add in phpgwapi/ a new directory call lib/thirdparty and modify
our CreateObject function accordingly. The purpose of this is :
1) Easier maintenance of thirdparty software (licence issues, easy to
identify what to change into the project, and what to change upstream in
the thirdparty stuff, how to update it, etc ...)
2) better recognition / integration of others contributions in our project.
3) since we are now php 5, migrate the CreateObject function to use the
auto load mechanism and using new as is, for better compatibility with
thirdparty software.

Next. I'm looking for the opportunity to use an ORM in phpgw (propel,
doctrine, redbean, php-activerecord, ...) and doing here a RFC about it.

Next. Can I strongly suggest everyone commiting the cod</pre>

Hi guys,

unfortunately it took a bit longer than expected, but now I'm starting.. ;)

For a start I tried to install phpgw from trunk.
I checked the whole thing out and wanted to install everything.

Unfortunately I encountered quite a lot of errors (e.g. undefined variables, undefined offsets...) in the setup.

Is this a problem just on my machine or can others verify this?
If others can verify that it doesn't work I'll start with fixing the setup.

Reproduce:
- checkout phpgw from trunk
- create a new db and dbuser
- open http://www.your_server.whatever/phpgroupware/setup
- follow the steps. Do you see errors?

Thanks,

frozen.

Automated user handling based onorganizational roles.

<pre>Hi all,

In Bergen Kommune we use phpgw as Facilities Management- / Booking system.

We want to automate the userhandling as much as possible - and one idea is to use the Addressbook to help us.

All employees (about 3000) has a relation to an organization - and this relation is described by a role. Some employees has several roles/relations.

It should be doable to define rules to define users and acl-rights based on employee/role/relation/organization.

This information is provided from a central system collecting data from several sources.

To make this work - we (possible) need to redefine the relation phpgw_contact_org_person to allow multiple relations per org/person - and to extend the relation with (custom) attributes.

Any thoughts ?

Regards

Sigurd

* New features

1) translations can be called from (xslt)templates

usage:

&lt;xsl:value-of select="php:function('lang', 'translate me')" /&gt;

Note: the xmlns has to be defined - example:
&lt;xsl:template match="group_edit" xmlns:php="http://php.net/xsl"&gt;

2) Per Application Admin
In "edit user" one can grant user right as administrator of application(s)

* Improvements

1) In Group Edit - availlable users and selected users per group are separated into two lists.
javascript to move them across (as in org-person in addressbook)

2) Deprecated and strict is added as loglevels

3) Error handling - only do the work for selected loglevel

<pre>Hi all

Some new features:

1) Support for JasperReports

more on JasperReports: http://jasperforge.org/

usage:

$jasper_wrapper= CreateObject('phpgwapi.jasper_wrapper');
$jasper_wrapper-&gt;execute($parameters, $output_type, $report_source);

$parameters is a string containing in-paramters for the report
$output_type is either PDF, CSV, XLS, XHTML or DOCX
$report_source is the the full path to the jrxml-file

2) Optional per domain database abstraction

Either pdo or adodb. Pdo is default - but if you really want to use mssql - you
also want to use adodb due to missing transaction capabilities in pdo.

3) YUI-calendar widget

usage

<pre>Hi all,

I have published here a small post about svn:externals in our repository.

http://blog.caeies.org/2010/01/happy-new-year-2010-and-new-repository.html

will read it.

Regards,

Caeies.
