Hello All,

I'm new to MBUNI and I've spent 2 weeks struggling setting up Mbuni.
I'm running Mbuni both as MMSC and VAS Gateway.
I'm trying to test sending a mms through the VAS gateway (MMSBOX).
I'm sending a smil file via this url :

wget -d -q -O - 'http://localhost:10001?
username=digital&password=digital&from=+25*****&to=+25****&subject=teste&smi
l-url="http://localhost/kannelsms/test.smil"'

Here's the output that i get :

--request begin---
GET /?
username=digital&password=digital&from=+25*****&to=+25*****&subject=teste&sm
il-url=%22http://localhost/kannelsms/test.smil%22 HTTP/1.0
User-Agent: Wget/1.12 (linux-gnu)
Accept: */*
Host: localhost:10001
Connection: Keep-Alive

---request end---

---response begin---
HTTP/1.0 200 OK
Server: Kannel/1.4.3
Date: Fri, 07 Jun 2013 15:20:26 GMT
Content-Length: 15

---response end---
Missing contentClosed fd 3

And when i check in mbuni logs i see the following messages :

2013-06-07 17:20:26 [3138] [3] DEBUG: HTTP: Creating HTTPClient for

Hi,

We are looking for options to integrate MMS feature with our enter prise
application. As part of this, users should be able to take pictures and
send to us as MMS.

For this use case, we were exploring "MBuni" to see if it meets our needs.

for service/content providers rather that such enterprise applications.

Wanted to check with user community on what will be good way to integrate
or expect incoming MMS.

Any inputs are much appreciated.

Thanks,

Hey guys,

First thanks for the information. The site has been really helpful. I am
completely new to MMS (and all things SMS, VoIP, etc) so I am grateful for
all the information so far.

I have a number setup through Google Voice. Which has zero MMS support. I
have all my SMS and Voice and Voicemail going through them right now.

I was wondering if it is possible to setup my own MMSC and supplement the
lack of MMS support from Google. I am not sure what lines are drawn where.

To give you an idea of what I have setup, and would like to support is as
follows:

I have a phone with Simple Mobile (a T-mobile MVNO) a 385 number. My number
is ported to Google Voice (a 801 number). So when someone calls me (801) it
goes to GV and then is redirected to my (385) cell phone. In theory it
could go elsewhere as well. SMS also goes directly to GV and then I use
their app to retrieve messages. MMS just fails. I get no notifications etc.

Is it possible to have voice and voicemail handled through GV and setup my
own MMSC

I am trying to install and use mbuni.

I followed the installation instruction and all seems fine.

mmsc starts and so does mmsbox.

But the command mmsproxy is not installed.

If i issue the mmsproxy command it says command not found.

When i redid the installation, mmsproxy is still not installed along with mmsrelay.

Kannel and mbuni are installed on an Ubuntu Virtual Machine.

any ideas?

After getting my setup mostly working I had one annoying problem - non - ascii characters in text files (e. g. '£') referenced by the smil file were not displaying correctly on the phone.

My application was writing the text to text files in a directory of an Apache web server. The smil file referenced the text file via http.

I checked my application was writing valid UTF-8 text files.

The problem appears to be that the web server is just serving the files as 'Content-Type: text/plain'.

Adding an .htaccess file to the appropriate directory on the web server to serve the text files as 'Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8' appears to have fixed the problem.

Could you please tell me what i need to do to have this working? I already tried to configure this, but i need to know how to check the connection with the MMSC, if it is ok.
And i need to know how to send and receive mms. I already read the documentation, but i was not fully clarified.

Comverse MMSC & SMIL problem

Hi,

About a month ago I started to have problems with one of
operators when sending via MM1 interface... They accept
m-send-reqs and properly respond with m-send-confs.

The problem is that when message contains SMIL it isn't delivered
to the destination address. If I send plain text, or image
message (without SMIL) it's being delivered correctly.

SMIL messages sent via other operators' MMSCs are handled
correctly.

I suspect that the problem here is caused by a kind of software
upgrade/reconfiguration on the operator's side. I'm unable to
verify this with them however. It appears that their Customer
Care Department has been hired as a firewall between the
customer and the rest of the company. My most successful
conversation with them resulted in sending me configuration
messages for MMS service ;/

I've spent a lot of time experimenting with various combinations
of m-send-req and SMIL contents. It appears that whether the
message is being handled properly or not depends on SMIL
presence.

Maybe someone h

Best way to put all received MMS into a db?

Hi,

basically we would like to put "all" received MMS into a database (from,
to, attachements aso).

Adding a VASP and a MMS service allows us to access all relevant data
using post-url in a convenient way.

Unfortunately the VASP configuration allows specific numbers
(short-codes) only which doesn't fit our needs. We need a prefix based
configuration.

Before we start to change the source code to add a new directive for
group = mms-vasp we would like to ask if there is another way of
accessing all incoming MMS. Has anyone done something like this before?

Best regards
Franz
