libwbxml 0.11.1 release notes

Download: https://sf.net/projects/libwbxml/files/libwbxml/0.11.1/

Major Changes
=============

  - Fixed performance problems during the parsing and generation of XML
    documents. This introduces a new memory allocation algorithm for
    WBXMLBuffer. Both original patches from the tickets #80 and #81 were
    committed. The patches were supplied by Conrad Irwin.

Minor Changes
=============

  - The tool xml2wbxml is now covered by LGPL v2.1 (or any later).
    Petr Písa? discovered that wbxml2xml and xml2wbxml used different
    licences. This was a mistake. Aymerick Jehanne and Michael Bell
    (the copyright holders) agreed on using LGPL as licence.
    (ticket #76)
  - Extract node breaks (null'ed) the previous node link to a next node
    (too early clean-up in wbxml_tree_extract_node of wbxml_tree.c).
    The patch was supplied by Mark Ostrer from Websense (ticket #79).

Internal Changes
================

  - Added a tra</pre>

contact? opensync Linux vs Nokia

<pre>Hello,

I had some problems finding a contact to the opensync project as the
mailing list access is only inside the developers section.

My goal is to synchronise my Nokia E75 mobile phone with Mozilla
Lighting on Ubuntu 10.10 via USB. I simply do not know where to start as
the "Getting started" section is empty when it comes to configuration.

I am an engineer and if it helps I am willing to try things out.
Furthermore I could write down my installation experience if it is of
value for anyone.

Best regards
Matthias

<pre>Hi Folks,

Could someone help please? I'm trying to sync my Nokia 2630 to files on my Dell
Vostro 460mt running Kubuntu Oneiric. When I run osynctool --sync on my
nokiasync group, it appears to run successfully, retrieving my Nokia contacts
to my PC, however it ends with the message "ERROR: Unable to find engine which
can handle objtype data".

When I next run 'osynctool --sync nokiasync' I get a message "Main sink of
member 1 of type file-sync had an error: Unable to find engine which can handle
objtype data" before aborting.

I think I had it working at one point but then it screwed up, so I reinstalled
as follows:

Installed packages:
opensync-format-vformat
opensync-plugin-files
opensync-plugin-syncml

<pre>Hi,

My question is related to LGPL licensing of libwbxml-0.11.0.

I got the source of libwbxml-0.11.0 but found it won't compile on Windows
using Visual C++ 6 (missing wbxml_config.h). I'd like to modify the source
and make it compile, then use it in the commercial software in a
dynamic-link manner(DLL). This proprietary is an email client with
ActiveSync capability.

My concern is that as it's bounded by LGPL, may I keep the commercial
software code proprietary, while using a modified libwbxml-0.11.0 ?

My modification is just to make it compile, but not to modify the internal
of libwbxml.

Is this a case prohibited by LGPL, a close source commercial software dynamic
links to a modified version of LGPL software?

Thanks!

<pre>Hi,
Could you please tell me that in libsyncml library email and mms synchronization support is there or not?
I mailed to nokia technical support too regarding email synchronization and according to them their phone don't support local email synchronization.
So I just want to know that code support is there in library for email and mms syncronizatiion?
For mms I am able to get data on hcidump,but after that it shows there is some error in data parsing,no end of data found.
I am testing with Nokia N8,5233.

I am using syncml-ds-tool which is there in libsyncml library.
Is there any way to get the handle (unique identifier) for Calendar, Notes and sms.
I mean any library function is there which can return the handle value.
Actually in callback function I am just getting the version , startdate, enddate, and data.

help with gammu-plugin installation

<pre>hi all,

I wanted to test the gammu plugin with my SE k810i, but I cannot for the life of me get that thing to compile on my Natty linux box.

First, I got a prompt from cmake telling me to specify the path to the FindGammu.cmake file or to some config files whose names couldn't be found in the sources I checked out from svn.

So I made a FindGammu.cmake by adapting FindBluez.cmake . That made the prompt go away, but I get an error telling me that gammu-types.h cannot be found when I try to compile the plugin using make (libgammu-dev is installed).

The funny thing is that it seems to find gammu.h alright, which resides in the same dir as gammu-types.h. I'm not very good with C, but I would think that those header files should be found in any case since they live in the default dir under /usr/include/

Did anyone experience similar problems and has come up with the solution?

Here's the relevant data of my setup (as listed on http://www.opensync.org/wiki/questionGuide):

I am trying to use OpenSync 0.39_SVN6166 with libsyncml-0.5.4_SVN1363 on Ubuntu 10.10 or Meego 1.1

I am always getting below error on sync between evo2-sync and syncml-obex-client. I have configured correct MAC address of my phone in obex configuration &amp; for evolution configuration this addres book path "file:///home/userXYZ/.evolution/addressbook/local/system".
But I am always getting below error after requesting sync.
Error: "contact sink of member 2 of type syncml-obex-client had an error: The Bluetooth connect failed. Connection refused (111)"

The same setup was working properly for me with release versions OpenSync 0.39 &amp; libsyncml-0.5.4.
Any clue, what could be wrong?

<pre>Hello there,

I'm using libwbxml (0.10.9 and 0.11.beta 2) so far I have experienced weird
behaviors while encoding and decoding XML/WBXML data.

The lib is compiled as static lib for one of my projects on mac platform
with Objective-C and I made a wrapper function to encode XML.

The issue I'm experiencing is some kind of stack crushing in the encoding
function. Here is a simple example:

#import &lt;Foundation/Foundation.h&gt;

#import "wbxml.h"

NSData* myencode(NSData *XMLData) {

  NSData *WBXMLData = nil;

  WBXMLGenWBXMLParams params;

  params.wbxml_version = WBXML_VERSION_13;

  params.use_strtbl = TRUE;

  params.keep_ignorable_ws = FALSE;

  WB_UTINY *wbxml = NULL;

  WB_ULONG wbxml_len = 0;

  WB_UTINY *xml = (WB_UTINY *)[XMLData bytes];

  WB_LONG xml_len = [XMLData length];

  WBXMLError ret = wbxml_conv_xml2wbxml_withlen(xml, xml_len, &amp;wbxml,
&amp;wbxml_len, &amp;params);

  if (ret == WBXML_OK) {

    WBXMLData = [NSData dataWithBytes:wbxml length:wbxml_len];

<pre>Dear All,

I want to sync my Nokia 5230, S60v5...
The syncml-obex-client connects but shows error "Forbidden 0x43".

I'm on a Debian Lenny with opensync 0.22, I've found some info in the
archives suggesting to "reset" the phone with a PCsuite sync.
Alas, I have no Windows, other tips?

Tkanks,
Will

<pre>Hello,

this weekend we have to do some maintenance work for *.opensync.org
infrastructure.

In detail: *.opensync.org is moving to a new host. This affects, libwbxml,
libsyncml, OpenSync and the relevant Subversion repositories and the CDash
instance.

Sorry for any inconvenience and for the very short notice.

I'll let you know once the migration is done.

Regards,
Daniel
