    <title>Preferable mailing list</title>
    <link>http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.fsharp.general/1160</link>
    <description>&lt;pre&gt;Hi all,

As you might see, I cross-post this mail on two F# mailing lists, which is intentional.

A while ago, I started exploring the F# language, but had a big break due to other priorities. Recently, I've picked up the thread, and have some questions I was going to ask on 'a' mailing list. I've noticed that back then I subscribed to the Microsoft list and the Google list. My question is which one is preferable? I see more activity on the Google list, although the Microsoft one seems more logical. Which one would be recommended, with the larger user base, and experts like Don Syme, Jon Harrop and Robert Pickering following the threads? Cross-posting is generally not appreciated, so I would like to avoid that.

Cheers,

Bart

    <title>(Q) object expression syntax</title>
    <link>http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.fsharp.general/1134</link>
    <description>&lt;pre&gt;I'm reading F# 1.9.7 spec. and testing F# on VS2010 Beta2.
I found some document bug but almost of them are trivial until now
except the following one.

In 6.4,8 section of "F# 1.9.7 Draft Lanugage Spec", there is an example:

let obj5 =
{ new System.Object()
interface System.IDisposable with
member x.Dispose() = printfn "Dispose"; }

But it doesn't work. Why? Bug?

Object expression's syntax rule is:
(See "new" and "interface"'s indentation level)

{ new ty0 [ args-expr ] [ as base-ident ] [ with
val-or-member-defns end ]
interface ty1 with [
val-or-member-defns1
$end ]
…
interface tyn with [
val-or-member-defnsn
$end ] }

ps1) The following is ok:

let obj5 =
{ new System.Object()
interface System.IDisposable with
member x.Dispose() = printfn "Dispose"; }

ps2) The term "[as base-ident]" should be removed in the syntax rule,
isn't it?
