Now that all my exam dates and other commitments are partly known, I
can make it to foss.in on nov 25th atleast for sure.

The other days, i don't really know because I might be railing(like

entitled "Excitement of Research" in IIIT campus. (mostly on 25th
night)
I can confirm about this on 20th November.

This is going to be my first ever foss.in. Hope to meet all you guys.. :-)
Who all amongst you are making it into the foss.in ?

Gosh!! I am really getting excited thinking about foss.in.. Duh! I
have to study for yet another test before that :(

    <title>Workout: Dynamically Tracing KDE4 applications withDTrace</title>
    <link>http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.kde.india/770</link>
    <description>Hello All,

I am planning to do a workout on Dynamically Tracing KDE4
applications with DTrace

The env will be KDE4 on Solaris Express. The only other OS which has
DTrace as of now is OS X ( I think the FreeBSD guys are working on
porting it as well).
I'll write probes to dynamicaly instrument 1) QObject 2) KHTML library

Mind you, once probes are written for a particular thing, a *running,
non-deug , ie release application can be instrumented at runtime using
DTrace*

I will be doing the workout with the OpenSolaris track.

As always, suggestions are more than welcome.
You can view my proposal at

    <description>Hello ,

My book "programming with KDE4" will be available for review during FOSS.in.

I hope to interact with most or all of you and have a discussion on that.

Inputs from the previous interaction with the community (mainly on IRC) :
- The book is now done in OO + LaTex as opposed to MS office
- The book is now free for non-commercial redistribution AND
modification. ( I dont know when or if the paper version will be out )
- The book will be distributed as a .odt at FOSS.in and as a pdf + odt
when it's ready.

Any suggestions/criticisms/opinions are more than welcome

    <title>KDE FOSS WorkOuts &lt; at &gt; FOSS.IN/2008</title>
    <link>http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.kde.india/754</link>
    <description>Hi,

Some of us have been discussing what proposal could be submitted
for FOSS Workouts [1] at FOSS.IN/2008. Not many concrete ideas came
forward. Except one from Kushal and some cool ideas from Santhosh. I
will let them elaborate their ideas if they wish to do the same.

Just a few pointers - workouts are supposed to be for 3 hours,
of course can be extended on request but thats for organisers to
decide. Another thing is, afaic tell one has to do enough home work to
participate in the Workout. You have to educate yourself with the code
base depending on the goal set in the proposal and then hack at the
WorkOut to achieve the goal. Finally don't forget, the CfP ends 2
days from now on 16th. So if somebody is interested in submitting a
KDE WorkOut proposal, now is the time.

All:

A lot of people have noticed that unlike in previous years, we are not as
loud about FOSS.IN as we usually are. Now that the Call for Participation
is about to be published, it is time to explain why FOSS.IN/2008 is going
to be different from earlier incarnations.

First a quick reminder: FOSS.IN/2008 happens November 25-29, 2008, in
Bangalore, India. The website is at http://foss.in.
