IMP H5 (6.1.2) (final)

The Horde Team is pleased to announce the final release of the Internet Mail
Program (IMP) version H5 (6.1.2).

IMP, the Internet Mail Program, is one of the most popular and widely deployed
open source webmail applications in the world. It allows universal, web-based
access to IMAP and POP3 mail servers and provides Ajax, mobile and basic
interfaces with a rich range of features normally found only in desktop email
clients. For more information on IMP, visit http://www.horde.org/apps/imp.

For upgrading instructions, please see
http://www.horde.org/apps/imp/docs/UPGRADING

For detailed installation and configuration instructions, please see
http://www.horde.org/apps/imp/docs/INSTALL

The major changes compared to IMP version H5 (6.1.1) are:
     * Fixed user listing via RPC (CalDAV).
     * Fixed adding ACLs.
     * Fixed linked attachments.
     * Updated Dutch translation.
     * Further bugfixes.

The full list of changes can be viewed here:

Having installed Groupware 5.1 I am seeing "Invalid Address" in all
folder presentations (and in view modes) for any From: address that is
proceeded by any content.

The "Invalid Address" are either:

"A.N.Other" <a.n.other< at >example.com>
or:

another <a.n.other< at >example.com>

From: addresses like:
imp< at >lists.horde.org

...display as expected. Also opening up a view window renders the From:
address "correctly" for all formats.

I'm using imap c-client 2007f with httpd 2.4.4, PHP 5.4.14 with
squirrelmail-imap_proxy-1.2.7

This problem does not exist with previous installs of imp using the same
c-client - I'm wondering where to start looking? This would appear to
get marked up in horde/imp/lib/Mailbox/Ui.php with a
Horde_Mail_Rfc822_List Object ?

It's possible we are one of the few still keeping an IMSP configuration
because we have offered it for a long time now. However I've had to
make the same edits for a few versions and also for the new groupware
5.1 so I thought I would feedback in case anyone else has similar
experiences.

First off I don't know when the change from plaintext to Plaintext came
about, but that was fairly easy to work out what the following web log
error meant :

PHP Fatal error: Class 'Horde_Imsp_Auth_plaintext' not found in
.../Horde/Core/Factory/ImspAuth.php on line 105

conf.local.php
$conf['imsp']['auth_method'] = 'Plaintext';

The next error meant I went to look back at previous versions and just
amended it back to what it was:

PHP Fatal error: Using $this when not in object context in
.../Horde/Core/Factory/ImspAuth.php on line 95

From:
$class = $this->_getDriverName($driver, 'Horde_Imsp_Auth');

To:
$driver = basename($driver);
$class = 'Horde_Imsp_Auth_' . $driver;

   Hi all,

   In the process of configuring our server, we had to think about how
to handle deleted messages. Basically, we found 4 ways:

   1. Move deleted messages to a given IMAP folder (usually called "trash")

   2. Mark messages as deleted but leave them in their folder

   3. Move deleted messages to "Virtual trash"

   4. Delete message permenantly

   Obviously, #4 is rarely a good option.

   However, I searched the web and I couldn't find any advice to know
which one I should use as the default setting, or even which one I
should force/lock. The most interesting page I found was
http://deflexion.com/2006/05/imap-way-of-deleting-message .

   I understand what is the difference between #1 and #2, but I don't
know which one is the best alternative.

   Also, could you explain me the difference between #2 and #3? To
configure Horde as per #2, I don't check the option saying to move
deleted messages to a given folder. And for #3, I check the same
option, but instead of selecting an

I have a problem whenever I try to attach a file bigger than
$conf[compose][link_attach_threshold] which is 3,000,000 bytes in my
case. In the compose window the attachment is attached to the mail, at
least that is displayed in a green info-box. When I press "Send" a red

The VFS in Horde is configured like this:
$conf['vfs']['params']['vfsroot'] = '/tmp';
$conf['vfs']['type'] = 'File';

The file is uploaded in my temp-directory which is located at /tmp.
More exactly the file is uploaded to the directory
/tmp/.horde/imp/attachments/my_user. All the directories starting from
/tmp/.horde are owned by the user that runs the web server (www-data).

I have been noticing my PGP signed messages have been flagging as BAD
signature when sent to list, but just looked a little harder, and
can't find a single email that I have sent AT ALL in two years that
Imp is showing GOOD signature for - yet I know that it has been fine
before, as I tested it when I first started using it. Now if I go back
to those messages that I sent to test it, even they all show up as
BAD, even though at the time they showed as GOOD. :( Messages I send
now and then go and check immediately in Sent are shown as BAD, so
it's not that these have been modified somehow...

If I command line test PGP on the Horde server with keys taken from
Imp's preference pages I get the following:

Sign a text file:

[simon< at >emp06 simon]# gpg --sign < im.txt -o im2.txt
You need a passphrase to unlock the secret key for
user: "Simon Wilson <simon< at >simonandkate.net>"
1024-bit DSA key, ID BF5BE442, created 2011-05-18

Verify it:

[simon< at >emp06 simon]# gpg --verify im2.txt

implementing 'realm' support in IMP 6.1

Hi,

with horde/imp 6.0 I use a horde/hooks.php with

----
class Horde_Hooks
{
    public function authusername($userId, $toHorde)
    {
if ($toHorde) {
    $server = IMP_Imap::loadServerConfig($GLOBALS['auth_params']['imp_server_key']);
    if ($server && $server['realm']) {
                /* required for logins on webfrontend */
$realm = $server['realm'];
    } else {
                /* required for logins via activesync */
$imap = $GLOBALS['injector']->getInstance('IMP_Factory_Imap')->create();

switch ($imap->ob->getParam('port')) {
case 1430: $realm = '...realmA...'; break;
case 1431: $realm = '...otherealmB...'; break;
----

Unfortunately, this does not work anymore with imp 6.1. Now, I get

| PHP Fatal error: Cannot use object of type IMP_Imap_Config as array
| PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function getParam() on a non-object in

in the corresponding branch.

What would be the best way to express this with 6.1? Upgrade notes do
not mention an API change there.

Hallo,

I just have upgraded to horde 5.1.0 and imp 6.1.0 using "pear upgrade
-a -B -c horde".

I have updated my backends.local.php to the new settings for spam and
autocreate_special.

Now I got an e-mail containing many images (it is about 8 MB in size)
that I wanted to forward to someone.

But when clicking on "Send" in the compose window, I only got "unable
to load SQL data".

Until now I used the "SQL" VFS driver.

The DEBUG output of my horde.log looks like:
