<pre>Dear participants

As part of the MeeGo infrastructure ramp down, we will begin to shut down most
mailing lists. In the coming days, all mailing lists at lists.meego.com will
be shut down, except for the following:

NameReason
meego-devgeneral discussions
meego-commitsautomated emails from builds still being sent there
meego-securitysecurity concerns

The mailing list archives will be frozen too, but not deleted until the main
infrastructure shuts down completely. Some mailing lists have been archived
publicly by other services, such as:

http://gmane.org/find.php?list=meego
http://www.mail-archive.com/find.php?q=meego

In addition, we'd like to ask everyone still using MeeGo services, like OBS,
to begin finding other solutions. We will shut down all but essential services
in May 2013.

If you have questions about this, please contact me or

OBS Light releases a solution to build locally yourTizen IVI image

<pre>Hello,

The OBS Light team http://wiki.meego.com/OBS_Light has just released the
Beta version off the OBSLight-fakeobs addon.
FakeOBS has been originally created by the MER project and we have
modified it for our needs. Our goal is to ease the import of a pre-boot
strapped full distribution such as MeeGo TV or Tizen IVI in a private
OBS instance.

It could be used for any OBS hosted project.

What has been released
=======================
OBSLight-fakeobs enables to deliver pre-boot strapped complete OBS
project(s) as a simple tar file (might be big!) which can be added to an
OBSLight-server by a simple command.
The added new project(s) is accessible through obslight server via the
fakeobs project link.
Branching off any packages from the fake OBS in your local OBS is
possible and building against the added project is availble by a simple
click on an icon.

Note: As the tools to create the tar file are not yet well documented,
we have created a set of three projects tar file for easy import as a
demo. We ha</pre>

<pre>I've made some pretty serious updates to nobdy based on feedback from
meego conf and the new branch is nearly ready to merge into master. I
thought I'd shoot an email to this list to update those who are interested.

New features:

(note: I use the words, 'provider' and 'subscriber' throughout the
feature list. These are nobdy-terms that describe plug-ins that
'provide' data to the bus and plug-ins that 'subscribe' to such data, do
something useful with it.)

I. Nobdy now supports multiple providers. This is mainly for developers
and testers developing applications using nobdy, but it could also be
used for enthusiast as well. The previous version of nobdy only
supported one provider. That means if the provider didn't support the
data you need in your application, you'd have to modify it. Now you can
mix multiple mini-providers to give you the supported data you need.
For example, if your vehicle or test hardware doesn't have gps, you can
attach a usb gps receiver and plug in the provider </pre>

Currently I am using MeeGo OS which is based Open Linux Image 2.6.37.2-12.1.

My immediate problem is to cope with continuously shifting MAC address on the
Atom Processor board, every time, I reset (switch ON/OFF) to the board I get
completely NEW MAC address; hence, therefore, I cannot USE to setup or get
booted from the PXE server aka (TFT). I need to boot this starter kit with
similar Kernel 2.6.37 from the server just to test application and indeed set
up development, testing and debugging environment for further development.

The idea is to develop application software and modify existing device driver(s)

<pre>Hey,
Has anyone figured out how to disable the lockscreen on the MeeGo 1.2 IVI? I
have seen that this has been an issue for some, and now it has become one
for me:

Notes from weekly meeting

<pre>Hi,

So I was review the weekly meeting notes, and
saw this:

"All other work for the release is completed but
images need to be built for QA. The major new features
are the developer friendly UX replacing the tablet UX
and widgets and the conversion to systemd.
Wayland will be included as proof of concept however
the system will use X as default."

What does the "developer friendly UX"
and "widgets" refer too? I don't recall
it being discussed on the list (I just may
have missed it).
