<pre>Hi,

msn-pecan is a "fork" of libpurple's MSN plug-in.

This is a minor bugfix release mainly for reconnection issues. There's
many other patches pending in the queue, you might want to test the
'master' branch if you want to start giving them a try.

Grab from the usual location:
http://code.google.com/p/msn-pecan/downloads

Felipe Contreras (6):
node: avoid writes when connection is closed
      ssl-conn: cleanup properly on errors
      io: properly cancel connect operations
      build: fix platform detection
win32: update instructions for Arch Linux
      win32: version bump

MSN Group chat in Pidgin

<pre>Would there be a means (eventually) of adding better group chat support than is in the stock plugin in your alternative? Currently, I have to manually invite each person to a chat. For the purposes I need this for at work, this is something like 30 invites. I would much rather be able to right-click on a group in Pidgin (or a manually-configured "chat" that I've previously set contacts to be part of) and immediately create an MSN group chat with all the associated users (assuming they are utilizing the MSN protocol, of course). The lack of this functionality has me back using Windows Live Messenger for MSN and Pidgin for Jabber, as opening a group chat is the primary usage of MSN for me at work.

Thanks in advance for your consideration,

<pre>Hello guys,

I was searching at Google some document of MSN Protocol. I got a job
to build a Quiz MSN Bot. I`ll do in Java or Delphi (i work with both
languages)

I was builing the MSN procotol (and I stopped at MSN Authentication,
"USR 3 SSO S MBI_KEY_OLD"... But this is another history...)

So I discovered msn-pecan and libmsn-pecan.dll.

My question is: Can I use libmsn-pecan.dll functions to login and send
messages at MSN?

If this DLL has open functions, I don't need to know the MSN Protocol,
I`ll just need to know all functions inside this DLL to use it, right?

Anyone here knows if what I want is possible?

Thanks guys!

[ANN] msn-pecan-0.1.0-rc4 ready for testing

<pre>Hi,

msn-pecan is a "fork" of libpurple's MSN plug-in with a different development
process, clear priorities, and plan forward. Considering I'm the main developer
of both[1] libpurple's stock plugin, and msn-pecan, calling it a fork is a bit
dubious, but whatever.

The previous rc introduced a few annoying regressions, plus running
valgrind showed a few more. So a bunch of changes were needed to get
rid of the problems.

Issues fixed:
236Crash in pn_direct_conn.c
231Connection seems impossible using HTTP method
32Cannot send/receive messages behind ISA proxy
225Crash using Adium
237Network Proxy support on N900
238no emoticons in a multi chat
239Crash in msn-pecan 0.1.0-rc3

Only one bug is missing for 0.1, and it's most probably is already fixed.

So it looks like we are ready for 0.1 ;)

<pre>From: Felipe Contreras &lt;felipe.contreras&lt; at &gt;nokia.com&gt;

Hi,

I configured an HTTP proxy and noticed many issues with the current code, so
here are some fixes.

I have a few more patches, but those are slightly more complicated and
therefore not material for 0.1.

Cheers.

<pre>Hi,

Discussing with Devid it became clear we needed some clarification
about how to proceed with the development.

For various reasons I'm a strong advocate of sending patches through
the mailing list, however, some people find that annoying. So for the
people following this mailing list I ask this question: Do we want
patches through this mailing list? If the answer is no, then I propose
creating another mailing list for development.

In order to get a feeling of how I hope future patches should go I've
sent my latest updates as I expect contributors to do so. Keep in mind
that most probably the flow of patches will be less than that.

Also, we are approaching the 0.1 release which means we should
concentrate on stability and the development process should be
adjusted accordingly. The next rc (0.1.0-rc4) will be the last one to
introduce major changes, after that *all* changes have to go through
this mailing list so that they get properly reviewed. This includes
further 0.1.x releases, for which a separate</pre>
