<pre>Dear all,

I'v been lacking a good tool for studying* and since I have some knowledge
of programming, albeit basic, I've started a project to create this tool.

Working with PyQt4 and python-poppler-qt4 I've managed so far to display
PDFs in a scroll area and make some text selection. However, the zooming
and scrolling on the document is very poorly rendered. Scrolling is delayed
while the image is loaded onto visible pages and zooming (i.e. resizing the
document) renders all rickety and flickery.

Would you have any suggestions on how to proceed?

Of course, since I use Qt4, you will probably refer me to the Okular team.
Still I'd like to know what you suggest.

Thanks.

Benjamin

**That's not completely true, there is Mendeley which achieves most of what
I want to do. Although its freeness depends on a limited cloud, which soon
asks for money to get larger.*

<pre>Hi

I have a problem, our doctors print "Medical prescription" on custom paper
size 99x210mm (format A4 divided by 3) - from web -&gt; generated PDF file
(via plug-in from browser)
Every time a person want to print, she/he need to change settings from A4
paper size - to custom size defined by me.

Evince does'nt check PDF size.

Is there a way (config file) to set default to paper size custom (other A4)

Best regards
Marek

<pre>Dear Evincers,

I am curious about the development status of Evince. As a student /
researcher, I am reading many articles and ebooks in PDF formats. I am
unfortunately not able to do much more than reading my PDFs. Ideally, I
would like to be able to highlight and annotate my documents. Annotations
would be best organised, in my opinion, as notes on the side of the
document, with arrows pointing at the section of the document that is being
commented (very much like the annotation system on Libre Office).

There are programs like Mendeley which offer these highlight and annotation
features, but Mendeley is pushes all document on a cloud (which is soon
overloaded and makes Mendeley unusable until you give money).

The features of highlight would be a great feature improving my work flow
and most probably that of many more students.

Would you please consider this feature request?

Kind regards,
Benjamin

When I try to open the document, the following message is printed out :

<pre>Dear Evince developers,

First of all thank you for putting your time into such an excellent
application!

I'm a serious LaTeX user and I've recently made a presentation with all
manner of 3D embedded videos and images to check out Movie9's
capabilities. I was sad to see that Evince will not display this
content. I unfortunately had to use a Windows VM and adobe to see the
fruits of my labour.

I'd be very glad (and I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one) if you'd
consider spending some time on getting u3d and mp4 embedding into
Evince, this was us LaTeX users can show off the system to our lowly
powerpoint addicted colleagues just a little bit more (: .

With very best wishes,

Sean.

I'm guessing it's NOT a jpg/image embedded into a pdf. If that were
the case I'm sure that random-like characters would not be missing,
and certainly not converted. Not sure how I could tell.

The sheet I'm looking at is done is a "jazz type" so I'm assuming that
between my screen and printer certain characters are not defined. I
have a HP Color LaserJet CP2025 and use Ubuntu 11.10. According to
CUPS the driver used is "Driver:Generic CUPS-PDF Printer (color,
2-sided printing)"

I'm not sure where to look for an answer!

<pre>Hello,
We wish to add a handy feature that can display word meanings fetched from the internet to evince
We have already written the code and tested it on evince.
How do we contribute this to evince??
Please advise,

Sincerely,

Tumul Richesh

[evince] A suggestion for 'scroll' funcionality.

<pre>Hi:

I truly want to say thank you for providing us with this great software.
I use it on MS XP with SP3 and it runs really easy.

However, I would like to suggest if you could plan the implementation
for the next 'evince' version of some kind of 'scroll' funcionality
using the touch pad or the mouse wheel. This kind of functionality
makes these viewers very smooth to use.
I don't know of any other point to suggest for a change or improvement.

Thanx a lot for your time and have a nice day.

Sincerely,

Alex Claros F.
