sorry for spamming all of you, but I have no idea who is responsible or
how I can take care of that issue on my own.

It seems one of my mail addresses was entered into this mailing list
using another mailing list. In addition I am subscribed using yet
another mailing list (ftp< at >halifax.rwth-aachen.de). As a result I get two
copies of each mail.

Could you please let me take care of where to subscribe and remove the
entry I did not put there myself (and which I do not want)?

Thanks,

Seeking for list moderators

Hello,

at the moment, we are looking for volunteers who could help moderate
this mailing list.

If you are interested, the only requirement is that you are subscribed
to the list yourself and read its mails in a somehow timely manner, but
that's about it.

Moderation means dealing with e-mails that do not automatically make it
to the list, which you then manually forward, or reject. This happens
either when an e-mail comes from an unknown sender, e.g. when a project
member uses a different address for posting. It also occurs when someone
unexperienced writes to the list, thinking it's a private account, but
in fact it's a public list.

You'll receive the message to be moderated via e-mail, which you then
can either "moderate through", or reject.

Is someone interested in joining our efforts? It'd be much appreciated -
just drop me an email (please also copy me directly, and not only the
list), then I'm happy to add you to the list of moderators.

Thanks!
Florian

renaming < at >documentfoundation.org mailing lists

Hello,

quite a while ago, we have renamed the < at >libreoffice.org mailing lists to
< at >global.libreoffice.org for technical reasons. I'd now like to do the
same for the < at >documentfoundation.org mailing lists, namely

- announce
- board-discuss
- discuss
- mirrors
- moderators
- test

The reason behind is that I'd like to split up our mail system into two
instances for reasons of load balancing and security. One should contain
all private mailing lists as well as e-mail accounts, the other one
should contain all public mailing lists. The fact that all our
communication tools are on one system at the moment is quite unfortunate.

At < at >documentfoundation.org, we not only host public mailing lists, but
also e-mail accounts. One way to achieve the distinction on the server
side is to create a forwarding/transport in the mail system, but I'm not
a friend of that, it has a few drawbacks. The other option is to rename
the list part, and - like we did with libreoffice.org before - use

Hello,

one of the most valueable assets of The Document Foundation, the
charitable entity behind LibreOffice, clearly is its infrastructure. It
provides the grounds where the community develops, markets, designs,
improves and offers its free office suite for download.

That's why it comes to no surprise that the infrastructure budget is one
of the largest spendings. As of today, we spend about 700 € per month on
infrastructure, which is more than 50% of our regular monthly operations
budget - quite a lot for a foundation of our size.

The last months, the community has grown rapidly, and so we will also
have an upward trend with regards to infrastructure, with costs growing
more and more.

Therefore, we would like to take the opportunity to ask for
infrastructure sponsors. Internet service providers, webhosters,
universities and corporations can contribute to the success of
LibreOffice. You can support the further development and growth of the
community and the product, by sponsoring the use o

Hello,

this is to inform you that the reply settings on this list have changed
(so-called "Reply to mangling" has been disabled).

So far, e-mails had set a reply-to the mailing list address. In other
words, with any e-mail client, replies to e-mails on the list were
automatically sent directly to the list.

In the past, this lead to two major problems:

1. Several times, people have sent direct replies to the public list,
where deleting them is nearly impossible. I remember at least one case
where confidential information has been sent out that caused lots of
worries for the sender and his employer. This happened because people
hit "reply" and thought it would reply to the sender only.

2. I have heard complaints in the past from people, stating that working
with the non-developer lists of LibreOffice is a pain for them, because
of reply-to mangling, resulting in a lack of communication. This also
led to the fact that numerous tasks were done by the same people, who
needed to spend more and more

I have hundreds of Gigabytes free on my server and plenty of bandwidth, too.

I already seed the torrents from my seedbox (not many seeders

prominently visible and more strongly recommended on libreoffice.org).

What do I need to do to set-up a mirror for TDF?

Tried it on mac this time via the safari browser and it looks like it

there a problem with bandwidth or traffic to the download servers?

Tried it a 2nd time and it seems to be downloading.

Over the last couple of months we have been going through a refresh of our
mirror service (http://mirror.catn.com/), and as part of this process have
added a TDF mirror to our system. Now testing is complete and we're happy
the service is stable, we're ramping up the amount of traffic being sent to
this server.

As part of this we'd like to offer our mirror as a additional official UK
mirror for TDF projects. The information you require is below:

 - Protocols: HTTP (http://mirror.catn.com/pub/tdf/); FTP (

 - Mirror admin: mirror< at >catn.com -- this is a small list address will be

 - Mirror service credit: CatN PHP Hosting, http://catn.com.
 - Sync schedule: 51 3,9,15,21 * * *

Our mirror is based in our own UK data centre. The server is connected on
