Hi,

Here's an update of the first steps towards a configurable evaluation
workflow for OSP. The work requirements, concepts and examples are
gathered at:

http://bugs.sakaiproject.org/confluence/display/SAKDEV/Concepts+of+an+ev
aluation+workflow

This is done with help of the people who are tuning in on the weekly OSP
conference call. Any suggestions of people with ideas about making a
workflow 'evaluation centric' are welcome to chime in ;-)

Cheers, Hugo

Hi,
I am trying to find out validation for creating a new user in sakai. If
you don't enter user detail in the form and click on "Save Details" button
while creating new user, you see an alert on top of the form. Can't find
out corresponding code which is executing on click event. If I see the
page source, I find following line:

But can't locate the file specified in action attribute.

    <description>
I am preparing for my social computing course (SI301) in the winter -
so I am doing some playing with tools using Sakai Commit data as my
playground.

I have a few graphs up (more coming) and an SQLite3 database to play
with here:

http://www-personal.umich.edu/~csev/sakai/data/

There are three cool graphs so far.
Main SVN versus Contrib
Monthly commits to both repositories
Monthly commits to the main SVN
I produce the graphs using Python scripts reading SQLite3 databases
and display them using the Google Visualization API.

It would be much appreciated if someone took a look at the actual data
in the database and let me know if there were some grievous errors in
my data.

    <title>rWiki prepopulated pages</title>
    <link>http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.cms.sakai.devel/27975</link>
    <description>
Hi, everybody.

We have a problem with the rWiki's prepopulated pages. AFAIK the Wiki's
prepopulated pages (e.g. the Notation Tips or the Help Page) are
generated at the course creation's time, in the preferred language of
the user that creates that course.

The i18n works well at creation's time, but after that, these pages are
always shown in the same language, doesn't matter the user's preferred
language.

I wonder if could be possible to change this behaviour and generate
these prepopulated pages each time the user logs in, in his preferred
language. Or still better (but more difficult, I think) to generate
these pages just one time in all the available languages and after that,
load the right one looking the user's preferred language.

Thanks in advance.

figured I'd squeak one in before Thanksgiving.

On production I'm experiencing this -
http://jira.sakaiproject.org/jira/browse/SAK-10747
however, when I look at the source code - its fixed in the source, and has
just $!site.Description listed.
figuring it wasn't deployed for some reason -

I down sakai
from the site-manage directory I run
mvn clean install
-no errors, get build successful

mvn sakai:deploy
-again, no errors, get build successful

then brink Sakai back up
and its not fixed, the html code is still on the joinable sites screen

This happens with the content project too - I added a patch that Michelle
Wagner made for me, verified the source changed, and doesn't seem to
deploy.

What am I missing ? Is there a cache somewhere ?
Am I really that helpless ?
Its Sakai 2.5.x on Linux if that matters.

BTW - Happy Thanksgiving !

    <title>Help with EntityBroker</title>
    <link>http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.cms.sakai.devel/27956</link>
    <description>
Hi Aaron,

I am trying to define an entity called a "page", and I want to say
that the page contains an (ordered) list of objects that can be
resolved using a RESTful URL -- that is, they are of classes whose
instances can be accessed through the EntityBroker using RESTful
methods. I'm not seeing any support for that. It seems like the
capabilities related to RESTfulness all refer to the EntityProvider
and not the entities themselves. The entities are mostly just POJOs.

It would be really cool if I could define the items contained by a
page like this:

    List&lt;RestfulObject&gt; items;

where RestfulObject was some very minimal interface such that a
RestfulObject could provide an EntityReference for an entity that can
be accessed through a RESTful EntityProvider.

Is there some way to do this? Are there any interfaces in the entity
broker that refer to characteristics or capabilities of entities
instead of capabilities of entity providers?

Thanks.

Jim

Hi,

But when I import those course material into melete, it gives me error :"Error occurred when importing" and also when I import glossary.zip( file exported from webct) into glossary in sakai, it gives an error: "The import file was not a glossary term file".

    <link>http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.cms.sakai.devel/27948</link>
    <description>
Here at Oxford there is data available through a set of LDAP servers
which can be used to form groups of people (eg: all 1st years studing
Medivial English, all staff in Exeter College). We are not going down
the route of provisioning courses but instead want to allow maintainer
of a site to be able to select multiple groups from LDAP and use these
groups with an associated roles to form the site membership.

We still plan to allow site maintainers to add members individually to
a site but they will also need to UI to browse the groups and assign
them a role to add to a site, this will hook into Site Info/Worksite
Setup either through a helper or by extending SiteAction (helper is
current plan).

The groups will be added to the site through a custom GroupProvider.

Has anyone else looked at doing this?

We're authenticating our users externally using the (modified) JLDAP
user provider, which is working fine, but there seems to be no way for
us to change the user types once an account has been created on initial
login.

Changing the LDAP attribute the user type is based on does not get
picked by Sakai up for existing users, even after rebooting the Sakai
server.

The web admin interface also doesn't seem to have a way to do change the
user type for external users.

Is this a general issue, or specific to our implementation?

Has anyone faced this and come up with a fix or workaround?

Thanks,

    <description>
Hi, everybody.

It seems that the "public" term in Sakai (in the blog, the wiki, etc)
refers to all the validated users of Sakai, but not the rest of the
world. Is this true?

Is there any way to make the public entries of these tools readables for
non validated users?

Thanks in advance.
