[Building Sakai] LessonBuilder build error (in an unusual setup)

<pre>Hi
I'm doing something a little unusual. I'm trying to get Lesson Builder 1.4
to work with Sakai 2.6. After tinkering, I actually got it running smoothly
on my test box, but when I tried to update production, I get the following
build error.

--------
Project ID: org.sakaiproject.basiclti:basiclti:pom:2.0-SNAPSHOT

Reason: Cannot find parent: org.sakaiproject:master for project:
org.sakaiproject.basiclti:basiclti:pom:2.0-SNAPSHOT for project
org.sakaiproject.basiclti:basiclti:pom:2.0-SNAPSHOT
-----------

I've verified the correct version of basiclti is getting into my maven
repo. Sakai 2.6 doesn't have a separate directory for basiclti. So if I'm
reading the error correctly, I'm not sure where I'm supposed to be telling
it where the parent: master is.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

How would I bring up an intermediate screen that asks for either CAS or guest login? Or is there a better approach?

[Building Sakai] Sakai search - A solr implementation

<pre>Hello,

I've worked the past few weeks on a different implementation of the Sakai
Search API using solr : https://github.com/ColinHebert/Sakai-Solr.
It is still a work in progress, but it's functional; I didn't have much
time to do a proper documentation, but it's pretty easy to set up.

The solr configuration used in unit tests (
https://github.com/ColinHebert/Sakai-Solr/tree/master/impl/src/test/resources/solr)
is the one I currently use when I run solr with sakai and works (so far)
fine.

To enable search with solr, the sakai.properties file has to be modified to
contain this:
solr.server=http://localhost:8983/solr/
search.enable=true

And of course, the project has to be deployed. With all that it should run.

I intend to add some user documentation later, but this early version has
some nice features:

- faceted search, searching for "tool:content myKeyword" will search
"myKeyword" only in documents indexed by the content module;
"title:presentation.pdf" will search every indexed element named
presenta</pre>

<pre>Hi All,

I'm developing an admin util that uses siteService to retrieve all the sites. For each of these site, I'm retrieving users with role Instructor. I am then checking if they are students(using their special format email address).

The problem is every time I do this, and run this app, as soon as I move from the tool and try to use other tools, I get a "No Session Established", "No tool Session page". The only way to get Sakai up and running is for me to drop the database and create a new one and put back all my config tables and tools.

Is there anything I can do to circumvent this? What am I doing wrong? Any help will be appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Nguni

<pre>

Hi All,

We have the requirement in our project to set difficulty levels
(Difficult,Medium and Easy) to Questions in Samigo.

Our requirement is to have questions of difficulty levels (Difficult,Medium
and Easy) and user should get questions as per below case

(e.g., everyone receives a set of 20 medium-difficulty questions, then,
based on the score for those 20 questions, the high-scoring students might
branch to a more difficult set of questions, the medium-scoring students
might branch to another set of medium questions, and the low-scoring
students might branch to an easier set of questions--or have their test
terminate at that point)

Can anyone developed this type of requirement in Samigo in Sakai Community?

I found about the Question bank Tool in Sakai developed for "IDEAL project"
from the below link:

http://old.nabble.com/Adaptive-Online-Proficiency-Tests-td19629604.html

I am unable to find Source Code for Question bank Tool in Sakai.

Can anyone provide help on this.

Regards,
Gautham

https://confluence.sakaiproject.org/display/bbb/home

I can create meetings and the users receive the proper notifications, but
they don't receive a URL to the BBB application in order to access the
desired meeting.

The "Meeting List (bbb-tool 1.0.6) " picture on the
https://confluence.sakaiproject.org/display/bbb/home shows a "join meeting

But on my system, I don't see this URL and my status looks like:Status:Not

Any ideas on how to get the right URLs (Meeting invitation) to the users??

Kind regards,

<pre>We are having problem importing Assignment2 assignments with Turnitin
enabled on the source site's assignments when the due date for the
source site is before the current date.

It looks like the TII settings are being copied to the new site's
assignment, but since the due date is prior to the current date TII is
erroring out causing the assignment and all assignments after the one
with the TII to not import.

Is there a setting to disable TII from importing with the assignment so
that the instructor can turn it on after they correct the assignment's
due dates? It looks like TII won't let you setup a due date in the past
when first creating the assignment, but will allow you to change it to
the past after the assignment has been saved and TII setup on their end.
I guess this wouldn't be a problem if TII let you setup duedates in the
past when first creating the assignment.

[Building Sakai] Neoportal work

<pre>Hi Chuck (or anybody),

Just a quickie ...

I'm working on the neoportal tab stuff (SAK-22026) in the trunk and
intend to merge later, when it's all shipshape. Is that a good way to go
about it? I was merging every commit into 2.9.x as I went but it was a
bit of a pain. Does any of the trunk stuff get merged back into 2.9.x
when new 2.9 betas get cut?

Cheers,
Adrian.

[Building Sakai] Learning Path

<pre>
Hi All,

This is regarding Learning Path Tool.

We have build the below learning path tools successfully

\sakai-wicket-1.4
\loi-commons-base-2.5.0.1
\loi-learningpath-2.16.0
\loi-learningactivity-2.8.0

We got 2 tools (Learning Path, Study Activity) added in our Portal after
Tomcat restart

We are able to add Learning path for the Worksite and able to copy Learning
paths from other Worksites using Learning Path tool.

In Study Activity tool, on clicking “add learning resource” we are getting
blank page instead of file picker to add new resource as shown in attached
Screenshot.

We are not getting any Tomcat log errors

Best Regards,
Gautham

[Building Sakai] no-reply hardcoded in some tools

<pre>Dear all,
I just noticed some tools like:

clog-0.9.3,
assignment (https://source.sakaiproject.org/svn/assignment/branches/sakai-2.8.0)
assignment2 (pulled from latest uct tag)
profile-2-1.4.6
announcements (https://source.sakaiproject.org/svn/announcement/branches/sakai-2.8.0)

have hardcoded 'no-reply' as 'from' mail address. Is this deliberate
? We dont use 'no-reply'&lt; at &gt;our-org-domain, and we might have to change
this.

regards.
