a quick question.

I'm building a custom control "imagePicker", that wants to select an

My question is: is it possible to user a different package than
info.magnolia.cms.gui.dialog? In this case the constructor shold be
public, and not protected as some examples...

There could be any problem related to the Factory?

Thanks!!

Hi list,

i want to migrate from 3.5.4 CE to 3.6.3 CE -

i just read that it is recommended to migrate to 3.5.8 first. Do i have to
take the 3.5.8 step - if i am already on 3.5.4?

I aint got an enterprise licence, so i guess i have to export / import all
contents?

thx a lot..

greetings
rainer

PS. If some pages are activated and some not - i would have to manually
activate the according pages after migration (that could cause a lot of work
*g*)?

Hi,

Is there a control available which allows me to select (multiple) values
from a specified path in the data module?

In this case I have a collection of "keywords" which editors can add in the
data module. In a page dialog I would like to list these keywords and choose
one or more of them.

Any ideas?

I tried the dataUUIDMultiSelect, but all I get is an empty textfield with a
button 'add' and 'delete'. Not exactly what I expected to see. But then
again... maybe I configured it incorrect.

<title>Gathering some feedback about content inheritance and page hierarchies</title>
    <link>http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.cms.magnolia.user/9482</link>
    <description>Hi all,

I'd like to gather some feedback about how you structure your sites
and page hierarchies. I currently see 3 approaches to structuring a
site's pages hierarchy, and I tried to quickly describe them below.

What I'd like to know is which one you're using (one of these 3 or
something else), why, and if there's any other advantage or
disadvantage that you see which I didn't list. I'd also like to know
if and how you inherit content, typically for footer paragraphs, for
instance, which are likely to be the same all over a website, or
sections of it.

One of the reasons I'm asking is to try and see how we could provide
"simple" solutions for content inheritance. (Because there are too
many ways to inherit content, and providing a solution for every
single case would just make it too complicated).

Thanks in advance !

-greg

      /aboutus
      /products

    <description>Hi folks,

I'm working to expand our Image Gallery paragraph, which is based on the
example on the wiki &lt;http://wiki.magnolia.info/display/WIKI/Image+gallery&gt;,
to include the ability for a user to upload a ZIP file and have any images
contained therein expanded into the gallery paragraph. To do so, I believe
I'll need to do the following:

1. Add "Upload ZIP File" button to the paragraph's BarNew.
2. Link that button to a new dialog with a file upload control.
3. When that dialog is saved, trigger the processing of the ZIP file.
4. Actually do the processing of the ZIP file.

I believe I've got a good handle on steps #1, #2, and #4. I haven't been
able to figure out how to trigger a particular bit of Java code to run when
a Dialog is saved, after the data in that dialog is persisted to the JCR
store. What's the best way to do something like this?

Thanks in advance for any help,

adding LDAP to it. I have no experience of Maven, but plenty of
compiling and linking in the distant past.

I have downloaded the trunk, and it compiles successfully - so it says
at the end; but if I look at the output during the compile, I find that
the tests for module-exchangesimple have the INFO messages declaring
success interlaced with Java exceptions such as:

ERROR info.magnolia.module.exchangesimple.ReceiveFilter
ReceiveFilter.java(cleanUp:526) 25.09.2008 14:29:03 failed to

So is the build good or not?

My other question is how do I build a specific version? The trunk is
giving me 3.7-SNAPSHOT, but I would rather build 3.6.1 (which I am
already running). I have tried a number of things, but clearly I am
not doing it right.
