Manage columns not translated into French

Just looked at mantis 1.2.0a2-SVN on the Mantis site, and noticed that Manage columns is not translated into French. Issue 9436 opened in the bugtracker. http://www.mantisbt.org/bugs/view.php?id=9436 (Note that this issue should perhaps be moved to the localization category) One menu item, and all strings in account_manage_columns_page.php need to be translated. While we're at it, I suppose we should also check the full file for other newly added strings. Hi everybody, In the last few weeks I worked on converting the mantis manual from HTML to DocBook format. This is the first step of a process with the following goals: 1. have a single, versioned source for HTML and PDF manuals 2. keep the manual more up to date with new features 3. allow translators to provide localized documentation The requirements we identified so far are: * we want to tag/branch manual+sources at the same time * we want a single location for all the translations * we do not want to force downloading manual for just working on the code, and vice versa To support all of the above, I think we need a major reorganization of the repository; something like: ROOT=http://mantisbt.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/mantisbt/trunk $ROOT/sources $ROOT/sources/mantis << actual source code $ROOT/sources/manual $ROOT/sources/manual/$LANG << one of these for each language Questions, comments or alternative ideas on the topic are very welcome Cheers Gianluca ----------------------------------------

Hi, Please find attached a patch with my "propositions" for the French translation, based on the one released in Mantis v.1.1.1. First, my "corrections" are, from my point of view, for both french for France and Québec. IMHO, as it was said, it is better to use Unicode and the QC version use less words imported from english. Now for what I patched. Mantis 1.1.0rc1 Released

Hi everyone, Are we there yet? Well almost! I've been getting a lot of questions lately about when 1.1.0 gold will be out. We are almost there, with the arrival of the rc1 release, we are now in feature freeze and have already branched the code. Hence, any new development will now go into 1.2.0 code base and the 1.1.0 branch will only get critical bug fixes and localization updates. This will allow us to quickly reach the proven stability status and hence be able to release 1.1.0 gold. I am optimistic that this can happen pretty quick since this rc1 came after four alpha releases that were deployed in a lot of production sites including our own official bug tracker. This release includes features like db2 support, XWiki integration and tagging. It also has security improvements and some localization updates. All users of Mantis 1.1.0aX are encouraged to upgrade. For Mantis instances that use non-latin characterset, there is no automated upgrade path for data already in the database. Hence, this wiki page

I found a few errors in the current german files and will create an entry in the bug tracker attaching a patch file to correct them. What is about the old none UTF-localization files like "strings_german_8859-1.txt", will you automatically go through all of them and create them from scratch using the UTF-8 resources? "Build" and "Roadmap" are hard to translate, at least for Spanish, as commonly we use it in english (even in Spanish development environments). Shall we left them in english? If not, how translate them? Is there any other word which could be better to left in english and not to translate? Regards!

My "target" lang is Spanish, but I wanna have opinions also from Portuguese or Italian speakers, as they also have latin roots and could help me (and maybe this thread also help them). Adds db_is_mysql() 2. In case of mysql and UTF-8 character set executes SET NAMES UTF8. 3. Refactored db_pconnect() to use db_connect(). I would like to get some feedback on the following: 1. Does the patch fix the problem? 2. Should we call SET NAMES on non-UTF8 character sets? If so, then is there a way to translate the charset into the format understood by MySQL? For example, in the language files we UTF-8 where MySQL understands UTF8. 3. Should we do a similar call for MS-SQL or PostgreSQL?
