However, I don't see anything in Audacity that will let me do this. Can
someone help me?

Gentlemen:

I have written before, but I think to the wrong address.

I am delighted with your product and use it frequently. I have only one
problem and a 'nice to have' request.

 - I attach mp3 audio tracks to my slide shows using Audacity 1.3, but if
there is not enough 'silence' at the end it, (not the slide show), will
start to replay even though looping is not checked.
 - It would be great to have the flexibility to have fractions of seconds
for image viewing time. This would improve the synchronization with the
 audio.

Thank you,

Chris Edwards

reasons why my audio keeps going silent? I know my hard drive isn't full,
because I checked yesterday and I've only used 31% of the space on the
drive, including what I had of the Audasity projects. At this time, there
were two breaks that were being affected, and based on what my dad said
about the show last night, it sounds like it's the same two that were

<pre>Hi all,

Me again, working this time on the final radio show for my senior project,
which I want to have done by tomorrow. I did most of the work on it on
Saturday, and saved it as an audacity project because I still had some
editing to do on it. When I came back to it this evening, it looks like the
music was left alone, but my talk breaks are mostly silence now. It's not a
big gap between words, it's just that the audio is gone, and when it comes
back, it is where it should be at that time, so it's essentially skipping
several of my lines. Here's the setup on Audacity 1.3.11 on Windows 7,

Track 1, stereo track, has audio originally imported from fmpeg file
formats. The best way to get the same type of file I'm using is to rip a CD
into ITunes, all the music I'm using is coming out of my ITunes library.
This track also has some mp3 files in it as I converted all the public
service announcements I will be using in the show to mp3, after they had
been ripped from a CD.

Track 2, audio track, with AIF audi</pre>

<pre>Hello All,

I've been using Audacity for a while here on my Xubuntu box, and have
zero problem with straight recording, importing, editing, and exporting.
However, I had an occasion where what was being recorded ended up being
interrupted and begun again. So I ended-up with 3 separate files.

What I'd like to do is place them in sequential time order, and then
edit out the blanks in between.

I tried importing them, but they become stacked one on top of the
other...you hit Play and they ALL play! Not what I had in mind.

Tried copying #2 to paste after #1, but nothing happens.

I'm obviously missing some step or setting. Any suggestions?

Thanks-in-advance,
Mischa

<pre>Hi all,

Audasity 1.3.11, Windows 7 computer. I don't think having ITunes open would
hurt anything, but I don't know what is going on. If you remember last time,
I got auto duck to work and got a start on putting together my radio show. I
have to start over though, because for some reason, when I saved the first
project, it hung at 86 percent and I aborted the save, but some of the
stereo files are missing. I started over this morning, and after I realized
that I was ducking the wrong track, I pasted my introduction into the song
project, and tried to generate silence. However, what it appears to be doing
is silencing the audio of the song, even though I am not telling it to
silence the audio, I am generating the silence using the silence option in
the generate menu. Like I said, it is silencing the song's audio, not
shifting the audio 16 seconds forward like I want it to. Am I doing
something wrong?

<pre>What to do with my one choice, to get my Audacity to record overdubs
successfully without hanging right out the gate just as my pIII pc's
running kubuntu 7 and 8 and windows 2000 did? all recording 7, 8, or 9
instruments overdubbed with no problems. But now with a desktop grade
Gigabyte mb with 2gb memory and E3300 Celeron I get a hang on the first
overdub everytime in the 1st 10 seconds. (yes, I've tried all the settings
and upgraded kubuntu to the latest stable version)
So what do I bet on? with my one bet? A Pentium processor? A Windows OS?
Toss the mb? or memory?
Thanks so much.

<pre>Hi All,
When I open multiple instances of Audacity (i.e. from first session, I open
another, and from that another session, ...etc - which I will refer to as
children of the first session).
What I do is rip pieces of an mp3 and paste them into the children, where
in each child a specific piece is then pasted.
Whell, what happens is that the File Edit View ....etc tabs completely
disappear in all instances of audacity.

This is for Audaciy Fedora 14 build 1.3.13

Thanx for your help.
