how can I tell when my RR connection will support IPV6?

I have RR slowest speed. But I have a DOSSYS 3.0 cable modem.

I have a TL-WRT941ND which I can upgrade to OpenWRT whenever
RR supports IPV6. I plan to do that after I know RR is OK.
The TL-WRT941ND does not support IPV6 natively.

How do I know when RR is up to speed on IPV6?
How would I determine my address block?

Has anyone in the area done this?

<pre>Hello, Austin area Linux users.

I am a software developer in Austin. I have been here about seven months. I
do not use Linux at work, but I do use it at home. I use Ubuntu. I also
have a Windows laptop.

I am thinking of buying a new laptop with Windows pre-installed. I will
keep Windows on it, at least for a few years. I may also buy a laptop in a
few years and put Linux on it right away.

Some new laptops have touch screens. Can Linux respond to touch/gestures?
Or is that a Windows-only thing for now?

Also: Will I have any issues installing Linux on a new laptop? I have read
a few articles online about "Secure Boot". I am sure there is a workaround
for it. Up until now, installing Ubuntu was pretty easy: pop in the DVD and
keep hitting "Next". Is it still as easy as it used to be?

Thanks for any info.

Conventional calculator software manipulates numbers. Computer Algebra
Systems (CAS) manipulate symbols. Free software CAS should begin to
replace propriety CAS. One of the most powerful Free Software CAS,
SAGE, is available online.

business model.

I can only offer a few tools to be true replacements to the Adobe core
products, since I don't use any anymore!
If you can contribute to a list of open source replacements, please do-
this is an opportunity

Ok this is a lame start:
Gimp
Cinelerrra

I just think there is a growing need for a movement saying "we don't
WANT the cloud!" give me the software installer!"
I feel analogous trend of system software being put on a partition
instead of giving you boot cd/dvd media. You call Dell and Apple? Nothing!

<pre>The Ubuntu Certified Professional exam was an extension to the LPIC-1
certification. It seemed to be bundled in a special offer at one time
(it is actually designated LPIC-199) So you could claim to have both
UCP and LPIC certs ( reasonable if you went on to get LPIC-2).

Check out this announcement:
http://www2.lpi.org/eng/about_lpi/what_s_new/lpi_and_canonical_offer_special_promotion_on_exams
Now, if you follow any of the links in that page, or try to search
either LPI or Canonical's website for the cert, it totally disappeared.
No mention. Nada.

I did some Googling around but couldn't find an explanation. Mostly
Google just finds copies of the study guide being sold.
Anyone have any first hand info? Did they just pull the rug out from
underneath this?
I suspect they incorporated it into the LPIC altogether.

running GNU/Linux?

It would be nice if someone had got the swipy thingies to work,
because I hear you get better rates if you swipe?

Thank You.

PSCP intermittent failures

<pre>I am looking for someone with commercial use experience of PSCP. I personally have used pscp in years past for light personal use but not over a long period of time and not for anything crucial.

At issue now is that the organization for which I work transmits an encrypted spreadsheet electronically to another organization. The transmission of this file is extremely important and has worked without noticeable failures for the past two years. However, coincident with the expiration and upgrade of our security key, we just learned that the transmission is not certain. A significant percentage of transmission attempts may be rejected with the pscp error message that our key is invalid. Change nothing and try again and it may - or may not - work. Try ten times in a row over a few minutes time and from three to seven of the attempts may fail.

Please confirm my suspicion that an overloaded receiving server can cause such spurious operation. The transmitting system at our end is a desktop PC running Windows 7 and it's not overloaded. Also, I have no reason to suspect network delays because the response is prompt. Within five seconds or less the copy operation is rejected or accepted.

Thank you for sharing your professional experience with pscp.
