DBN flyers

I am looking for copies {actual size and original color(s)} of ANY DBN flyers that you may have still tucked away in a drawer, scrapbook or, like mine, in a plastic storage tote crammed in a closet.
I'm looking for copies since I would not ask you to part with your originals, unless of course, you are willing to part with them or have duplicates. Monetary compensation via Pay-Pal is considered for originals in good condition and/or quality copies.

I have done many searches online for DBN flyers, and have came across a couple of good archives (DBN being an obvious one), however, the photos of the flyers are not in original size, but instead small thumbnails; which are not conducive to my need. So, this brings me here, to ask the people that would most likely be able to assist.

If any member of the midwest hardcorps, or is able and willing to either scan and email, copy and mail, or provide originals, it would be much appreciated. Thanks all, and long live DBN!!

http://community-bar.com/
In June, Full Spectrum was thrilled to supply an evening’s worth of
electronic dance music taken from LGA’s very own stash of mixtapes from
various DJ artists dating from 1984 – 2001. Live recordings of house
music and disco mixes from the now defunct Chicago radio station “WBMX”
were played; alternative beats from an XLII 100 tape were dished out; an
acid techno tape by DJ Tron (R.I.P.) was cranked out at the end; and
even a local DJ legend (Victor Lua) dropped by with something that had
come from a shoebox stash in true D.I.Y. spirit! Incredible…
This all happened < at > “Maria’s”, a Chicago spot that gives you some of
the best beer in town, incredible cocktails by superb mixologists,
boutique whiskey, gin and vodka spirits, and a warm and eclectic vibe.
Everyone had so much fun that we’re doing it again!

Thursty, July 21st: HURRAY FOR THE MIXTAPE
2! < at > Maria’s
What is it about? (We’re repeating this — in case you
didn’t get the memo…)
For the last 25 years or so, Luis has been collecting electronic
music in vinyl, tape, CD, and digital form, with a focus on electronic
dance music such as HI-NRG, Italo Disco, early House, Industrial, New
Wave, House, Techno, Tech House, Drum ‘n Bass, Trance , Hardcore, Happy
Hardcore, Breakbeat, Goa and so forth.
The story goes that his father bought him his first cassette tape
which included Newcleus’ “Jam on It” in the summer of 1984 in Chicago’s
Maxwell Street Flea market right after Luis first heard the song and
watched a group of Chicago breakers (on a flattened cardboard box)
“poppin’” “lockin’” and “spinnin’” to the electrified beat. Finding that
nothing else quite awakened Luis like the sounds of electronic music,
his father encouraged the boy by later on purchasing for him a 10-pack
cassette box set to record whatever he liked. And late into the night
Luis did just that, recording DJ sets from “Armando’s ain’t no jive
dance party” off the legendary Chicago radio station 102.7 FM WBMX,
eventually landing him in vinyl junkie heaven (Chicago’s Loop Records
and Importes Etc.) where he would put in his hours to amass his current
wax collection and begin his DJ artistry by simply listening to the
coolest sounds of the underground and the wise advice of the older
generation shopping there. (Oh, how he made his mother wonder when he
would return home in late at night on his Kent banana seat bike on a
Saturday night.)
In the 90s, Luis discovered the rave scene (or, shall we say, the
rave scene discovered him), and having already begun a mixtape
collection of DJ sets from various Chicago DJ artists representing
various genres, Luis added to this collection when he began producing
raves from the ground up and would travel across the Midwestern States
and sometimes to places as far away as New Orleans and Toronto,
promoting his events and vending DJ mixes, as well as trading tapes and
CDs of DJ sets with other vendors such as JJ of Untranslatable, Matt
Massive of Massive Magazine, and later on, Ken of Pure Acid Mixtapes out
of Los Angeles.
On Thursday, July 21st, Luis will again be showcasing some of his
favorite mixtapes for the night. In the coming days, he will also hunt
down what stashes some of his DJ friends might have…Make sure to bring
YOUR open ears and packaged goods. As any DJ will tell you, a dream tape
can lead to a lot of places.

The Machine for the Evening: TASCAM 302 Double Auto Reverse
Cassette Deck (“Mr. T” to Luis)

This bad boy has built-in Dolby HX Pro sound technology which extends
frequency response and minimizes distortion on Normal, Metal or CrO2
tape. The 302 permits fine adjustment of high frequency response and
possesses Dolby B and C noise reduction. Frequency response: 25 Hz to 20
kHz using high quality Metal tape. It basically rocks!
The
unit consist of two fully independent cassette decks housed in one 3U
rack-mountable enclosure. Both decks have independent sets of interface
connectors, transport control keys, noise reduction functions, LED peak
meters and more, capable of recording both independently or
simultaneously. With Control I/O and Cascade, the 302 can link with up
to ten additional machines. Mr. T may be older, but who messes with Mr.
T? I pity the fool!
Heck, it even has separate pitch controls for each deck and
independent outs — so you can literally mix with it! Craziness…
* Buy Luis a drink < at > the bar for $6 and receive a sealed Full
Spectrum mixtape – a genuine artifact of times now gone! (The fact of
the matter is that Luis got so lit last time that he ended up giving
away what mixtapes he had…’nuff said!)

A veteran of West Coast underground electronic music culture, Andre
Lucero continues to reinvent himself. From breakdancing in the early
80's to his present studio efforts, he always kept his focus on
beats and sounds of genres to come. Starting with the earliest
electro hip-hop, passing through time and space to the present and
future of electronic music, his selections are open minded but
always have a dancefloor sensibility.

Not being satisfied with spoon feeding or accepting convenience,
Andre has chosen the paths less traveled. Helping foster the rave
scene in Santa Barbara; playing at the first mega-rave in the US
(Raveamerica); releasing one of the first (if not THE first)
domestically produced underground electronic dance music mixed CD's
(Fusion, Volume 1); his involvement with the seminal San Francisco
techhouse event/DJ crew, Urban Development; to playing with
international legends for Space Children, he has been recognized for
decades as a stand alone talent who brings something special to the
lineup. Sharing the decks with some of the heaviest hitters on the
planet, he understands how to rock a crowd as well as to tell a
story. No two sets from Andre are alike. Each moment drives the
relevance of the music selection. Each moment is unique.

Andre is working on an album and the continued promotion and growth
of San Francisco's Fiction events.

Epiphany of Sound with J.C. - Fri 12AM-3AM Pacific/US
----------------------------------------------------

After 14 years, DJ J.C.'s techno/house/electronica showcase has
garnered much attention and devotion. Like most folks at Stanford's
radio station, he's a volunteer, proving that his motivation isn't
a paycheck; it's his passion to share his interest in one of music's
most eclectic genres. With his conversational style, inclusion of
producers and musicians from both the local & international scene,
and his stewardship of the station's 24-hour marathons during
Solstices and Equinoxes, it's no wonder that DJ J.C has made a
connection with listeners in a very crowded market. Catch his live
broadcasts or listen to the previous week's program at underheard.org.

J.C. will email this week if he has an update on any guests.
Thanks for your support!!!

At the tender age of 6, Danilo Plessow's path in music started with
playing drums. With his engagement in a school bigband he found his
love for jazz - and from 11 years of age on he started working on
his own music using a computer and samples.

Being influenced by Jazz, Soul, Funk, Hiphop and House music, the
first results were already released 5 years later on Stuttgarts
Pulver Records. Together with Joachim Tobias, Danilo had formed the
House and Broken Beat project 'Inverse Cinematics': Seven 12 inch
Records, one LP and many remixes and compilation appearances
followed.

The project was and still is a favourite of some of the worlds most
influental leftfield djs such as Gilles Peterson, Rainer Trueby
(with whom Danilo just started a collaboration), Michael Ruetten or
Benji B. After several other collaborations and solo projects in the
Nujazz vein (Hipster Wonkaz with P.Valentino for Ubiquity Records or
solo as Aphro Pzyko for Raw Fusion), Danilo went back to his House
music roots with the 'Motor City Drum Ensemble'.

Taking influences from soul, disco and detroit and chicago 90's
house, the new moniker soon became his best known: He released five
12 inch in 2008, and especially his 'RawCuts' series made him a
shooting star in the deep house scene, highlighted by the internets
house and techno bible 'Resident Advisor' for whom he did a mixtape
that is soon regarded as one of the best mixes of this influental
podcast.

In times when even big labels struggle to sell 500 copies, MCDE'S
'Raw Cuts' series, released on his own label 'MCDE' (run together
with P. Valentino) sold a few thousands each, and his other own
label 'Four Roses Recordings' has been doing very good as well. 2009
started with a 12 inch for one of UK's biggest house labels, 20:20
Vision, and Danilo now hits the road on a regular again to show some
of his dj skills, which have brought him all over Europe, the US and
Russia already. In february, Beatport's team of music experts has
put him ahead of the up and coming Deep House artists worldwide in
2009.

Big Love Show with Jack - Mon 3PM-6PM Pacific/US
------------------------------------------------

Jack will be letting you know what he's doing on his show today when
you tune in from 3-6PM. Don't miss it!

Parisian DJ, producer and remixer, Julien Auger began his musical
career by learning guitar at the age of 14 and playing with various
Parisian Jazz Funk bands. It was around this time that he began
DJing with a few different Hip Hop bands and also started to produce
his first tracks for them.

As raves became larger and more popular in the early 90s, Pepe
discovered Techno and House music. His first two records were
released on BPM Records under the 'Trankilou' moniker with Ark and
Doobass, before he changed his name to Pepe Bradock. His musical
influences range from Jazz to Dub Reggae which culmulates in his
hypnotic production style.

Pépé Bradock has done remixes for New Jersey's Blaze, Cassius, Alex
Gopher amongst many others. His biggest hits to date include
'Burning' and 'Life' both for the French label Kif. Apart from that
Pepe has produced for well-known House labels including Classic
(UK), Silver (France) and Nuphonic (UK).

As a DJ, Pépé Bradock has spun in almost every major club in the
world and is known for his versatile, and mesmerising mixing style.

This week dragn'fly is coming beat KZSU's decks into submission with her
dope-ass wickedly agressive mixing style.

THE GENESIS

Although an avid fan of the San Francisco underground rave scene
since 1991, it wasn't until her attendance at a highly overcrowded
event in 1998 that Dina Lammon found herself trapped in front of a
team of battling DJs. For the first time, she witnessed the way a DJ
could use music and machine to manipulate flesh. It was an eye
opening experience and the event filled her with a sense of musical
rapture and a new life path was revealed.

THE EVOLUTION

Since that fateful night, Dragn'fly has evolved into one of the most
highly demanded and respected DJs in the western United States. A
classically trained musician since the age of 8, it didn't take long
for Dragn'fly to gain a solid feel of the decks and within a few
months she was performing in front of hundreds of raging fans
alongside SF-legend, Astral Matrix. The experience was hailed as an
unforgettable one by the hundreds of raging fans in attendance and
it marked a turning point in the career path of our heroine. Today
Dragn'fly has a performance history that boasts over 1,000 major
events throughout the United States, including Hawaii, and
internationally in Mexico, Germany and Brazil.

THE ESSENCE

Known as a true "journey DJ", Dragn'fly possesses an uncanny ability
to read into the desires of the crowd and the diversity of each set
performed has provided Dragn'fly with the opportunity to headline
countless events. When not headlining under her own accord,
Dragn'fly acts as the strategic support for many event coordinators
worldwide as a key transitional DJ, opening or closing sets for the
worlds most-widely popular and renowned electronic music artists.

Dragn'fly incorporates an "aggressive-as-hell" mixing style with the
elements of funky electro, tech-trance and breaks; a combination
that has earned her a style that is uniquely hers. Her performances
repeatedly showcase a near frenzy of sound manipulation while she
tweaks her EQ's and shreds her vinyl, watching as her dancers rise
and fall to ecstatic pieces on the dance floor.

THE IMMINENCE

Having been made the object of several print and web zines, Dragn'fly
went on to infiltrate Hollywood in 2004 as a featured artist for
Higher Decibel, a television show that highlighted some of the
world's most distinguished DJs of the time. Throughout the years,
Dragn'fly has held residencies with such esteemed productions crews
as Shaolin of Sacramento, California, Lovetribe of Seattle,
Washington and currently she resides on the rosters of both GSP of
Dayton, Ohio and DJ4NORML as an official representative for the
nationally known and politically active institution known as NORML
based out of Washington, D.C. On the local scene, she has appeared
numerous times at such Bay Area nightspots as Ruby Skye, 177
Townsend, 1015 Folsom, the DNA Lounge, Mezzanine, and Paradise
Lounge - and has repeatedly made headlining appearances at Qool
Saturdays and the Looq Happy Hour hosted by one of America's top
progressive record labels, Looq Records.

And if over 1,000 live appearances weren't enough, Dragn'fly has
found the time to release over 12 promotional mix CDs - most of them
live, unedited recordings from featured events. Accordingly, one of
her CDs, Dragn'fly presents Legacy of Kain, was distributed
privately in 2001 by computer-gaming giant Eidos Interactive. Having
made its debut at the official Soul Reaver 2 / Blood Omen 2 event,
sponsored by Sony, this mix went on to gain worldwide attention and
earned Dragn'fly a devoted fan base spanning the globe.

It's hard to say what the future will bring, but one thing is
certain: the sound of Dragn'fly is destined to be an instrumental
force in helping to bring electronic dance music to a new level.

With a talent for insane melodies and harmonies, Auralism Records
co-founder Marc Smith is a producer driven by a musical calling
since childhood. From the life-changing moment when blues legend
B.B. King pulled the 12-year-old guitar player onstage during a
concert, Smith has remained committed to music-making--albeit, as it
turned out, with a slant more towards Moog than Gibson. In 2003,
Smith joined forces with Jason Short as Coalition of the Killing, a
project that sprang from their mutual admiration for minimal
techno's inspiring first wave, but which quickly developed into a
more musical, pelvis-jostling sound all their own. Two years later,
he helped to birth Auralism Records as a mouthpiece for COTK's
prodigious output. In 2008 Smith took some solo steps away that
veered away from the COTK sound towards the Teutonic end of the
techno spectrum, creating a new sound from himself that really
twisted some heads around . Of this new sound Smith says, "What I
like about techno is its out-of-the-ordinary, dirty element. It's a
little bit more carnal, you know? I've been focusing on using as few
elements as possible, and getting the most impact out of each one.
I'm a big fan of the 'less is more' aesthetic!"

2009 has already seen Smith garnering praise from the DJ community
for his solo contribution to Auralism's annual Primaveral
compilation entitled "Insisting upon its self". He and Short as COTK
were also just recently highlighted as one of Beatport's artists to
watch this year. The duo plan to tour this August to capitalize on
these accolades. But hey, let the guy catch his breath, he's still
savoring his amazing set from the "Night Moves" party at this year's
Movement Festival in Detroit. If it all seems like a whirlwind flash
of heat and smoke recently, that's because for Smith it has been.
"One of the reasons for that", surmises Smith, "[is that] It seems
as if the pipeline between San Francisco and the European electronic
music industry is really opening up. We have so much talent here it
is easy to forget there is anything else going on in the world of
electronic music." But one things for sure, instead of trippin' on
the E-G-O Smith has chosen to work even harder on his music with a
focus on more groovin' cuts outside of his normal comfort zone. He's
also branching out with some upcoming collaborations with other
noted San Francisco producers such as Alland Byallo and Clint
Stewart that should see the light of day later this year. Marc Smith
is undoubtedly one artist to keep an eye on this year.

Epiphany of Sound with J.C. - Th 9AM-12PM Pacific/US
----------------------------------------------------

WALLY CALLERIO-Part producer and DJ, part entrepreneur and purist,
Wally Callerio has kept true to his house music roots since
immersing himself in the West Coast scene of the early '90s. Since
then, the Los Angeles-based artist has gone on to internationally
release more than 100 original tracks and remixes; launch his
critically acclaimed Dufflebag Records imprint; and develop the
burgeoning digital distribution site, digibag.com.

While Callerio first started mixing records at age 14, his foray in
underground house dates back to Doc Martin's "Unlock the House"
sessions in the early '90s. One-off gigs at house parties and short
stints at local clubs help the young artist evolve his sound, which
would feature melodic vocals paired with funk-jazz influences and
deep, chunky basslines.

In 1997, Callerio took stock in his own sound and created the
self-styled imprint, Dufflebag Records. His first two original EPs,
"Déjà vu/Whispers" and "In Your Arms/Thisgo", received critical
fanfare from artists and audiences alike. The success led to slew of
collaborations with other global house artists including DJ Sneak,
Doc Martin, Natural Rhythm and Vibezelect, to name a few.

Dufflebag Records' success followed Callerio into the new decade,
earning him studio time for some of the industry's most respected
labels. In addition to releasing original tracks on imprints such as
5.1 Surround (L.A.), Shaboom (U.K.) Classic Recordings (U.K.) and
WAX Recordings (L.A). Doc Martin--Callerio's original
influence--began licensing them for his label and making creativity
come full circle.

In 2010, Dufflebag Records has gone on to release more than 75 tracks
on 26 pieces of vinyl. Now as a new decade and new era in house
music begin, Callerio is repositioning his sound and label. The past
few years have been marked by the artist's collective mindset, which
has focused him on developing and stockpiling music for his
forthcoming digital distribution site, digibag.com. But the time for
reflection is over, he says.

"I obviously can't hold back anymore. I have a ton of good music I
want to unleash on people right now--good ole fashion, soulful,
funky, dirty house", he says.

Callerio jump-started his game in 2009 by releasing 15 original
tracks and remixes on labels such as Phil Weeks' Robsoul, DJ Sneak's
Oomph and Magnetic, Chuck Daniels' Private Parts, 1200 Warriors'
1200 Traxx and San Francisco's own Motion Music. The December 2009
relaunch of Callerio's Dufflebag Records also marks the release of
11 new original tracks, along with fellow artist including, Amp
fiddler, Parris Bennet, Myka 9, Allensworth, Nadine Loren, Lili De
La mora and Josh One.

What's behind his ever-evolving vibe? As always, it's about the vocals.

"trying more musical, crossover house while trying to keep that
underground feel", he says. "I want people to walk away whistling a
melody or singing a vocal that sticks with them."

Dru Deep plays records, make beats, and designs designs designs. Dru
has been playing records since he was a young lad. House is Dru's #1
love. With all the diiferent styles nowadays he hates to label
himself as "just a house DJ". He plays oldschool hip hop, disco,
electro--versatile is Dru's middle name.
