but there is no tango icons.

Bug with "convert to plain text"?

<pre>Hi,

is the developer reading this list? Or where to send bug reports? I
try it here...

There is a problem (for years, until the newest version) when there is
activated "Setup/Message View/HTML View/Convert to plain text".
When mail text contains mutated vowels (&amp;auml; &amp;ouml; &amp;uuml; and also
&amp;szlig;), they and the next character(!) are not shown.
Example:
M&amp;uuml;tze -&gt; Mze (right: "Mütze")
Fu&amp;szlig;g&amp;auml;nger -&gt; Fuger (right: "Fußgänger")

When Becky doesn't understand vowels at all, it should not suppress
the following character. A little bit better would be:
M&amp;uuml;tze -&gt; M_tze
Fu&amp;szlig;g&amp;auml;nger -&gt; Fu_g_nger

BTW, less important:
It seems to be no difference, when "(text/html) als attachment file"
is (un)checked. HTML is always shown as a attachment.

BTW 2: I'm sad, that there's no reaction to my help offer/request about
German translation...

Thanks for help.

<pre>Hi, I'm nearly a decade long Becky admirer, and I really like this new v2.65 feature :

- Font size of tree/list view now can be configured in "General Setup" &gt;
 "Tree/List" &gt; "Size%".

However, changing the Size% changes both the Tree items &amp; the List items.

It would be so great to have a TreeSize% &amp; a ListSize% option in there.

I just changed the default Size% to 120%, now my list items are nicely readably, but the Tree list has grown way too "deep" so it's scrolling all the time.

Thanks for eventually thinking about importing such an options.

Cheers,
 Peter.

Per the help file this option should be effective with the standard Forward command, however I am finding it only works when Forward is used from a Local Folder.

When I am using Remote Mailbox and do a standard Forward of an email on the server, the 'special template for forwarding' does not work properly. It drops the first (template) line into the forwarded email and then nothing, just blank, no matter how I've altered the template.

Seemed to me that it worked at one time and then stopped working however my memory is uncertain.

Would really like to use this feature. Feedback is appreciated.

<pre>I do plan to have help file updated within a week to document the new features of 2.65, but if you're using Windows XP and are anxious to use the CardDAV feature that lets you merge/update your Becky address book with your Gmail address book, it doesn't work. You need a special DLL for XP machines, available at http://davidskirk.org/becky/BkDAV-xp.zip Just shut down Becky, copy the new DLL to replace the existing one and restart Becky. It's that easy. This is a temporary fix and will probably be included in future Becky releases, but needed now to use this feature. I discussed this with Carty and the DLL works perfectly.

As mentioned, the mechanics of this and other new features should be ready within a week. Thanks for your patience. (You are patient, right?)

- CardDAV is now supported. You can refer and update Gmail's contact from

- "Notify" option is added to Query dialog, which notifies the user that
either Query is finished or a first item is found when doing Query

- With Windows8's touchscreen interface, multiple mail items can be
highlighted by touching the icon part of the mail list.
- Added an option to either move the delete-marked messages (that are
deleted on the offline IMAP4 folder) to Trash or permanently delete
when the IMAP4 account becomes online.
- "Reorganize" will use the delivered date to sort messages when Date
 header is missing.
- Font size of tree/list view now can be configured in "General Setup" &gt;

- BUGFIX: When Compose window is open by "Redirect" command, clicking

- BUGFIX: When pasting long text without return code did not show the

- BUGFIX: Clearing flags on messages from other IMAP4 client did not sync

<pre>As far as I'm aware, Becky isn't available as an Android app. I'm therefore having to leave my PC on all week when I go abroad and access it remotely.

Does anyone know of a better solution? Presumably Becky in the Cloud is storing data files in, for example, Dropbox and somehow accessing them from Becky but, presumably, from a PC rather than tablet?

The main reason I want to keep using Becky when away is that I can't find an Android app that enables me to create templates to the same extent that Becky does.

Thanks for any help.

I am trying to get started with Becky in the Cloud, and began using Dropbox, putting my whole Becky folder in that. It works, but every time I send an email these .tml and .tmx files are generated, and while they are only 8 to a few hundred bytes, they will eventually fill up my Dropbox, nor do I know if I can delete them or not.

So:
1) does anyone have long-term experience with Becky and Dropbox?
2) Does anyone have a better Becky-in-the-Cloud solution with which they have experience and can recommend? Google? Skydrive?

Thanks,

Have anyone else experienced this problem, and/or do you know how to

Some people here still use Becky 2.25 because they love it and this is
the "newest" German version. But there are a lot of improvements since
then. Also many people would use Becky, but only want software in
their native language = German. So an actual Build in German is
strongly needed. My questions:

- does anybody have the same wish?
- is anybody doing a translation?

When no: I would offer my help with doing a translation (I already
translated other software).
- How can this be done?
- Who has to be contacted?
When it is possible, it would be nice to get the latest language file(s)
for building a new version.

This includes the two suggestions received last week for 1) attachments
to show in index and 2) information on Keywords and Content Blocks.

The file has 703 more words than before. Many users may not find
keywords or content blocks helpful, but two quick examples of usefulness
are

- Usingcontent blocks to color message threads (that example came from
Jody to my initial query in April, 2010)

- Using keywords in rfc822 keyword group to read headers more easily
(personal choice, of course.)

Reminder: The index only works for CHM files and identifies what pages
contain the selected word. The search feature lists the pages and also
highlights the word wherever it is used.

occasionally, by Verizon. Too many of my e-mails are not reaching its
destination. The problem is about 3-4 months old. LunarPages blames Time
Warner Cable (my pipeline to the Net) and Time blames LunarPages. But,
if I send my e-mails from a mailbox served by a different host, they go
through, which points squarely at LunarPages.

So, I wonder is some of you have a reliable and otherwise great host for
your own-domain e-mail accounts. (I have several domains.) If so, kindly
let me know. (Or "us know", because I am sure I am not alone with
problems of this kind.)

Best regards,

Hans L

Hello:

I get "Failed to connect to the mail server" (maybe not exact text) very
often now (Becky pop) when Becky checks for mail automatically, but
there is really nothing wrong, because I do get mail to all my mailboxes.

Just to exclude Becky or some Becky setting of mine as the culprit, let
me ask if anyone else has started getting these error messages lately.

Thanks,

Hans L
