<pre>Hi there,

Since our migration to transifex.net, some teams have lost their
translations because a new team was created (thanks to language mapping
in transifex.net).

There are still some project that need to be merged.
I've written a script[1] used to parse all guides at TXN, and print the
language code which have translations but are not associated to any
teams.
Please find attached the results.
Limitations:
- it was against the fedora-docs release only, not against
all docs! I could have used an other script for that.
I have it around but I would prefer our guides to be on
the fedora-docs release. This refers to[3].
Should I add all in this fedora-docs release? I think so, but
   we never finished that…

Should I add all in this fedora-docs release? I think so, but
   we never finished that…

There could be an other way, but I think that I've more than needed.
This list should be checked with the Misha's one[2].

we really need the maintainers to act!
Some guides are completly translated but using the wrong language code,
we can't publish nor re-use translations.

I think we need a clear list of which l_code have to be merged in which
one, the thread [2] should helps.

&lt; at &gt;maintainers, please ask if you need help for that!

<pre>Hi there,

The today Go/No-Go meeting is a No-Go for RC1, the GA has slipped to
May 29th.

That is going to let you more time for translations, which is not too
bad!

We've just managed to have the fedoraproject.org website ready for
translations.

The content is not fully written yet, but which is aleady written should
not change.
We just miss a small Clouds section, and changes in the interviews
and quotes.

But what you are actually able to translate is all that we can give you
today.
The TXN fedoraproject.org f17-beta release has been locked, and merged
in the unlocked master one, at
https://fedora.transifex.net/projects/p/fedora-web/resource/fedoraproject-org-master/

Proofreading is made at http://stg.fedoraproject.org/

The spins.fpo is going to be updated ASAP, be aware that some strings
will change shortly.

Please, report to us any typo.

Thanks, happy translating!

The Future of release names

<pre>At the last Board Meeting, the Board looked at the poll results asking
whether people felt like continuing to name releases. The results seemed
to show that many people do like having a name associated with Fedora
releases. However, the discussion before and after has shown there is
a desire to improve upon the current method of selecting the names.

The Board decided that it would be worthwhile to come up with a new
procedure for selecting the name for the Fedora 19 release and beyond to
attempt to solve some of the issues that have been brought up. The Board
is looking for volunteers who would like to do two things:

(1) Answer the following questions:

* What benefits does the Project get from the current release naming
  process?
* What changes do people want to see in a revised process?

(2) Come up with at least one proposal and analyze it according to the
    answers to the previous questions.

If anyone is interested in coming to a weekly meeting to work on this,
please feel free to contact me. If anyone would like to champion this,
please contact me ASAP so I know whether there is someone else who's going
to champion this or if I need to lead the effort.

I've put up a wiki page that tries to summarize the answers to the first two
questions that I've seen circulated on the advisory-board mailing list and a
link to the only proposal I currently know of (mizmo's proposal to use
a single theme for all of the new Fedora releases).

Thanks,

Testing the Release Notes

<pre>I guess I should post the step-by-step gory details for testing the
release notes. This looks pretty awful but really only takes a few
minutes.

First, go to
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/fedora-release-notes-17.0.0-1.fc17

As new translations become available, the 17.0.0 will become 17.0.1,
17.0.2, etc. The last of those three numbers represents the content
of the RPM which usually changes only because of new translations. If
the original changes (new strings), the second number will increment.

On that page, click on "fedora-release-notes-17.0.0-1.fc17" after
"Builds:".

Click on "download" in:
noarch (build logs)
fedora-release-notes-17.0.0-1.fc17.noarch.rpm (info) (download)

Open with "Software Install". You will need to provide a password to
install an unsigned package. (It doesn't get signed until it gets
karma).

You should now have a Release Notes menu choice under "Accessories" in
your logged in language. Clicking on it should take you to the
release notes in your logged in language. You can see other languages
by logging out and selecting a different language at the bottom of the
screen while logging back in. the current RPM contains Bulgarian,
English and Ukrainian. Any other language selection will result in
English.

If all is well, go to the original link, log in, and at the bottom of
the screen, click "Add a comment". Select "Works for me" and make any
notes you like. Click the "Add Comment" button.

When you are done, you can revert your system back to the original
release notes by going to a command line as root and typing

  yum downgrade fedora-release-notes

Once three people have done this, the translated release notes will be
staged for the release repository.

<pre>We had a rash of bugs to the release notes, many from translators --
thank you very much. We appreciate that.

However, that did result in having to push updated POTs. Most are tiny
typo changes, but in one case there is an entirely new section,
Installation.

My apologies for the late change, especially to the Ukranian team who
was complete. Most of those I should have caught earlier, although
there is no way I would have caught the installation change.

Swedish Anaconda rhel6-branch incorrect

<pre>Hi!

I downloaded a po file for Anaconda rhel6-branch, that was supposed to
be in Swedish. But when I opened it I realized that none of the existing
translations were in Swedish. I believe that they are in Spanish.
Apparently, there have been a mistake of some kind when uploading files.
Is there any way to restore an older version, that is in Swedish?
