It gets thicker as expected, suddenly becomes narrower, and then gets thicker again as I continue to increase pressure. Perhaps there is a problem with the usb protocol? When using a drawing software, whatever it is (Gimp, MyPaint…), i cannot draw anything. When using the tablet's pen, i got two cursors on the screen : one for the cursor, and one for the pen itself. They are related by a proportionnal law: the frontier of the two screen is the middle of the tablet (that is what you would expect). The «pen» cursor only use a small fraction of the tablet. And the «mouse» cursor is still active, so when drawing, it «works» only when the two cursors are on the canvas. I tried to «float» the stylus device to get rid of the mouse cursor when drawing, but it doesn't work. (xinput --float "Wacom Graphire2 4x5 cursor") I also tried to «float» all devices related to the tablet (cursor, pen, eraser), but only to get things worse: the cursor is diseappering, i draw «blindly» and i still don't get correct ratios. Ah! You say, it's a ratio problem. Well, i did try to use «xsetwacom MapToOutput» for forcing using only one monitor: the stylus pointer is captured by one of my screen, but there is still the drifting between the stylus pointer and the cursor pointer. I also tried to change ratio of the tablet, to get one screen mapped on the whole tablet surface (that is, i think, the same thing that the above «xsetwacom MapToOutput» ). I did: xinput set-prop "Wacom Graphire2 4x5 pen" "Coordinate Transformation Matrix" 0.5 0 0.5 0 1 0 0 0 1 and still get two desynchronized pointers. (with and without «--type=float» on the above command line). To sum up, i can map the tablet surface to only one screen, but i still get two pointers (one for the pen, the other for the mouse cursor). Every few seconds, GIMP acted as if the cursor had moved off-image to one of the borders (usually left or top) and drew a perfect horizontal line from the cursor position to that edge, then back to the cursor position. The mouse cursor always tracked the pen, and didn't seem to move when the "glitch lines" appeared. I seem to recall people reporting similar problems a while ago on other tablets though I can't remember the specific details. Did this turn out to be a bug in the kernel driver, or was the XInput driver at fault? It appears that Irie Shinsuke has v0.14.0 of the Xinput driver in his Launchpad PPA, and I'm wondering if that's likely to work any better, or if I need to look at building a later version of the kernel driver too. My system: Archlinux xf86-input-wacom version 0.14 from official arch repos Wacom Intuos3 6x8 I have a script to set up my tablet using various calls to xsetwacom (attached: tablet_setup.sh). After running the script once, often the wrong key combination is mapped to StripLeftUp (It will output x instead of f). In this case, running the script a second time will usually result in the correct mapping. However, even when the script has mapped the Left Strip Up to the correct key output, xsetwacom --get on the pad device shows different values (See attached file: xsetwacom-get-output). All the Buttons are Touch Strip options are wrong except StripRightDown. e.g. I move my finger up the left touch strip, it outputs "f", but xsetwacom --get claims it's mapped to "key +x -x " At first, I thought this only seemed to happen when xsetwacom --set is called from within a script. The reason for this is that it seems to be a case of one call to xsetwacom overwriting what was mapped by a previous call, hence a single call to xsetwacom won't produce the bug. For example, to produce the bug in the terminal: $ xsetwacom --set "Wacom Intuos3 6x8 pad" "StripLeftUp" "key +g -g" $ xsetwacom --get "Wacom Intuos3 6x8 pad" "StripLeftUp" key +g -g $ xsetwacom --set "Wacom Intuos3 6x8 pad" "Button" "1" "key +x -x" $ xsetwacom --get "Wacom Intuos3 6x8 pad" "StripLeftUp" key +x -x Following this, using the left strip up outputs "g". It appears that StripLeftUp is set correctly, but then setting Button 1 interferes with it in a very strange manner, changing the value that xsetwacom *thinks* it is set to, and sometimes (see the issue mentioned above when the script is run once only) but not always changing the value it *is* set to. If the order of the xsetwacom --set commands is reversed, so that "Button 1" is set first, followed by "StripLeftUp", then "Button 1"'s mapping gets overwritten by "StripLeftUp"'s. Note that while the strip functions do have button numbers, 1 is not StripLeftUp, it is the top right button on the left hand side. When I first load the kernel module, the tablet comes up locked to Xinerama screen #3 - no matter what screen the mouse is on, moving the stylus makes the cursor jump to screen #3. This is great, except I want it to behave like this on screen #0 instead. If I run "xsetwacom --set 13 MapToOutput HEAD-0" then it unlocks, so whenever I move the stylus, the cursor moves around on whatever screen it is currently on - i.e. it doesn't jump back to a specific screen. I have to use the mouse to move the cursor over to the tablet screen before using the stylus. Likewise with HEAD-1 and HEAD-2, although the range of movement varies with each option. MapToOutput HEAD-3 returns to the original behaviour, where the cursor is locked on screen #3. Trying to set the transformation matrix shows similar results. This: xinput set-prop "Wacom DTI520UB/L stylus" --type=float "Coordinate Transformation Matrix" 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 Locks the cursor on screen #3, but as soon as I try to apply an X or Y offset the cursor is no longer locked to a specific screen any longer. Am I doing something wrong? How are you supposed to get the cursor to always jump to a specific screen when the stylus is moved on the tablet?
