<pre>Hi Team

I am looking for a sponsor for an update to the package "solr".

* Package name    : solr
  Version         : 1.4.1+dfsg1-3

This update addresses the important/confirmed issues in the Debian bugtracker
and integrates changes from Ubuntu.

In addition I will be picking up the maintenance of this package until I
complete work on solr3/lucene3. I would like to re-introduce this to wheezy
before freeze.

I have uploaded to git.debian.org:
- ssh://git.debian.org/git/pkg-java/solr.git
- http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg-java/solr.git

It would be great if someone could review, upload and tag this package for me.

The DMUA field is already set in this package which I assume means I will be able
to upload it in the future - if this is not the case please could the appropriate
action be taken to allow this.

Thanks

James

I am looking for a sponsor for an update to the package "libcommons-codec-java".

* Package name    : libcommons-codec-java
  Version         : 1.6-1

This update includes a new upstream release which implements features required
to support packaging of lucene 3.6.0 which I am currently working on.

The upstream release includes four additional bug fixes, migration to Java5 and
an upgrade to use junit4 as well as the require new codec for lucene3.

I have uploaded to git.debian.org:
- svn+ssh://svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-java/trunk/libcommons-codec-java
- http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-java/trunk/libcommons-codec-java

It would be great if someone could reviewi, upload and tag this package for me.

It would also be great if the DMUA field could be set so I can upload this
package in the future.

Thanks

Please note that the upload will go through binary new as it adds a
new -doc package containing API documentation.

Latest changelog entry
cdk (1:1.4.9-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release. (Closes: #635182, LP: #280189)

  * Refresh patch as per latest upstream source.
  * Exclude modules inchi, libiocml, signature, smsd, tautomer, iordf as their
    build dependencies are not in packaged yet.

<pre>Hi,

I want to introduce a cli option parsing library for maven-debian-helper.
There a tons of such java libraries out there:

http://jewelcli.lexicalscope.com/related.html

Just FYI, I had a look, which of these we have in Debian:

- libcommons-cli-java
- libjargs-java
- libjcommander-java
- libjoptsimple-java
- libgetopt-java
- libargs4j-java
- liboptions-java

Sh...ugar.. I thought looking into what is packaged would make the choice
easier...

rule outs:

- libcommons-cli-java - I don't like Apache Commons stuff
- libargs4j-java - Is modelled after javac's broken options, not GNU style
- liboptions-java - AFAIK only used by one project
- libjargs-java - very low activity upstream, last release 2005?
- libgetopt-java - ancient (2000) Java style, only translation updates since
then

good:

- libjcommander-java - active, documented, Git, Unit Tests
- libjoptsimple-java - active, Git, Unit Tests, Code Quality Tools,
POSIX/getopt style, documented

Jcommander's documentation looks more inviting. So I'll start with that one.

Attention: Sir/Madam,

The Iraq American Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IACCI)is saddled with the responsibility of sourcing for companies from around the world to supply various Government Establishment including Government-sponsored Multi-purpose Co-operative Markets/Malls set up all over Iraq under the Iraq Development Program. This responsibility is required to be carried out transparently. Your company has been chosen for this purpose. Iraq’s Developmental Program is worth a stunning $100 billion - making it one of the biggest anywhere in the world - and is set to expand further, as more contracts are signed and projects drawn up. Frenzied activities surround hundreds of projects, worth billions of dollars, and spanning every single sector of Iraq’s rebounding economy. Iraq’s liberal, open markets - almost entirely free of restrictions - are helping construction sector activity. Below in this link are list of some of the firms that have profited from the re-building process in Iraq:

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/analysis-and-features/top-10-firms-profiting-from-iraq-469707.html

Meanwhile, more leading manufacturers and suppliers from across the globe are seizing lucrative slices of Iraq’s growing markets, and in doing so are helping positively to forge the future of the country. Benefits from all Iraqi sectors are set to increase further. The country's revenue generation potential - bolstered by abundant oil and other resources, as well as the long-term commitment of global donors to the rebuilding effort - is enormous. It can rival all other major regional economies. Despite the present security situation, many businesses are already successfully gaining strong foot-hold in the large under-developed and investment-hungry market. I will reveal more procedural information to you upon your re-confirmation of your participation/interest. Thank you and kindly respond via my email address or fax number below.

RFS: logisim 2.7.1-1

<pre>Hi,

I'm looking for a sponsor for my new package logisim.

* Package name    : logisim
  Version         : 2.7.1
  Upstream Author : Carl Burch &lt;logisim&lt; at &gt;cburch.com&gt;
* URL             : http://ozark.hendrix.edu/~burch/logisim/
* License         : GPL-2+
  Programming Lang: Java
  Description : graphical tool for designing and simulating logic circuits

The upload would close ITP bug #652954.

I've uploaded logisim to the svn repo...
Vcs-Svn: svn://svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-java/trunk/logisim
Vcs-Browser: http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-java/trunk/logisim

...as well as mentors.debian.net:
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/l/logisim/logisim_2.7.1-1.dsc

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Vincent

<pre>Hi,

while I'm at it, anybody else who wants to join the collective? I offer free
assimilation service. Just write a signed mail so that I see that you're the
maintainer and I run git-svn clone over your repo and upload it to
git.debian.org.

Transition from junit to junit4

<pre>Hi all,

We have considerable number of packages (close to 200) in archive
which build depend on junit package (3.x version). Considering that
this version has been unsupported for long time by upstream authors,
do you think it is time to transition packages to junit4 as and when
possible?
junit4 is backward compatible with junit. Also considering that in
most cases this is just a build dependency, as long as build does not
fail with junit4 we are safe with the transition. We need not make
this a compulsion. Just make the change if you are working on other
updates for any package.

Let me know your thoughts.

Cheers,
Onkar
