I believe only the first line of a multi-line message shows up in xemacs. Likewise in emacs if you (setq message-truncate-lines t). I change the line to read: [[emacs-muse.png][Made with [[http://mwolson.org/projects/EmacsMuse.html][Emacs Muse]]]] which does not render correctly. Instead, it produces the output: [[emacs-muse.png][Powered by &lt;a href="http://mwolson.org/projects/EmacsMuse.html&gt;Emacs Muse&lt;/a&gt;]] i.e. the link renders at expense of the image. Is there some other standard idiom for linking within image captions, or is Muse at fault here? Styles can be defined by the `muse-define-style and `muse-derive-style functions. These styles can be assigned to certain muse projects. Another feature of muse are directives, which are defined on a per file basis by including "#&lt;directive name&gt; &lt;directive value&gt; expression at the beginning of a file/document. I suggest to unify these two concepts in the following way: Every style specific keyword can be defined on a per file basis as a directive and directives can be specified on a per project basis by using the directive names as style keywords.
