<pre>Hi,

Since the end of 2007 I've been responsible for the Plone translation into catalan.
It has been a pleasure but it's time to give this task to someone who can dedicate more time because I now have it hard.

Please get in touch with him to create his user at plone.org and at the subversion repository to have permissions to update the translation files.

Goodbye and thank you everyone!

zope.po editing without write access to svn.zope.org?

<pre>Hi there,

It has been a few years since I was involved in translating Plone core and
wanted to give it a go again. However, you now need write access to three
respositories to get the work done: SVN Collective (as usual), Plone Github
(to edit plone.app.discussion) and Zope SVN (zope.app.locales that is now
used in a bunch of Plone forms).

I don't mind signing a couple of contributer agreements, but it I can feel
the stop energy..

What about moving all Plone core related translations to plone.app.locales?

/Anton

Products.Poi: translation updates needed

<pre>Hi international folks,

I have just made a 2.1.0 beta release of Products.Poi:
http://pypi.python.org/pypi/Products.Poi/2.1.0b1
http://plone.org/products/poi

I have updated the way the e-mails are done, putting everything in
templates now, instead of a big string including RestructuredText that
had to be translated entirely. This does mean that new translations are
needed. So if you want to update the translation of Poi in your
language, that would be much appreciated.

The source code is now on github.com:
https://github.com/collective/Products.Poi

Everyone with access to the Plone collective should be able to checking
code there, or fork the project and create a pull request. Otherwise
just e-mail me or add an issue in the tracker and upload your
translation there:
https://plone.org/products/poi/issues

Thanks a lot!

Proposal for translations

<pre>Hi,

As some people already knows we have tried to use transifex and we failed.

Because I still believe we can't ask translators to work with svn here is
my proposal:

Let's use github's collective and make a documentation on how they can use
online editing. It means you don't need to have a tool, but just the need
to register.
We can also let people doing fork and pull request over translations.

Let me know your opinion please on this idea.

<pre>Hi:

I have a couple of changes to merge into LinguaPlone trunk, but I
wanted to comment them here, in case someone has any objection:

1. Show the language list in "translate into" menu in its native form:
Currently the menu shows the language names with its english name what
is many times weird for users. Moreover the language change viewlet
already shows the language name in its native form.

2. Mark current content's translations for search engines: Google
published in december a way to mark the translations of the current
content with HTML &lt;link&gt; tags. This change adds a viewlet in the
header section with this URLs. More information about Google's
suggestions:

http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2011/12/new-markup-for-multilingual-content.html

These changes are in my current fork of LinguaPlone in GitHub, if
there's no objection I merge them into the trunk (or master or
whatever... I am not yet used to the github workflow... ;))

Best,

Mikel

I am working on the translations to get it ready for the translation

English files

10 locales/en
Folder: locales/en
Language-Name: English
Total missing strings: 2070
Total modified strings: 0
• locales/en/LC_MESSAGES/plonefrontpage.po [missing strings: 1]
[modified strings : 0]
• locales/en/LC_MESSAGES/plonelocales.po [missing strings: 1]
[modified strings : 0]
• locales/en/LC_MESSAGES/plone.po [missing strings: 2068] [modified strings : 0]

what to do with the English version?

as wrote before i am working with the translation company to have all
files upgraded and hope to have all the files totally checked and
tranlated.

Warm greetings,

<pre>Hi all,
I was searching for a way to maintain a multilanguage version of
some documentation and I found out that Sphinx (starting from version
1.1) does support multilanguage using gettext.

Take a look here: http://sphinx.pocoo.org/latest/intl.html

I didn't know this feature and I think that is really really wonderful.

We could finally translate the plone developer manual (or any other
plone doc) and most important we could maintain it syncronized between
languages.

I am more than aware that this would be a huuuuuuuuge work (for the pdm
there would be ~8.4k translation strings)...but I think that this would
be also a great deal for Plone...maybe the greater for the sake of
diffusion. :)

What do you think?

<pre> Hello,

the Board has defined a "Team Information Guidelines" document (
http://plone.org/foundation/committees/guidelines) aimed to obtain basic
information for each Team to publish on plone.org and keep maintained along
the years.

We'd love to have all the teams online with their informations as soon as
possible, so I warmly invite the Internationalization Team per its leader
to follow up on this.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon,

Maurizio

<pre>Hi,

I just discovered that PloneFormGen 1.6.0 is not translated, when
installed in a plain Plone site 4.1.2.

I am pretty sure that it was completely translated.
