first, that's great news. congratulations.

will anyone working with ECQuiz be coming to the Plone meeting
in San Francisco Nov 3-6? perhaps staying for sprints afterwards?
if so, would you want to participate in a sprint for ECQuiz?
even if not, what would you wish a sprint might accomplish?

The eduComponents team is pleased to announce the first official release
candidate of ECQuiz for Plone 4.

This version has not been tested extensively with Plone 3 - it might or
might not work as well. Plone 3 users should use ECQuiz 1.2.1.

We also integrated SVN-branch "cewing_fix_imports" which enables
importing QTI packaged-quizzes with support for zip files with pathnames
in them. Thanks to cewing.

We are looking forward for your contributions and feedback for this
release candidate of ECQuiz.

i create an ECQuiz instance. Make it published. Add a MC question.

Hi,

Here's a somewhat delayed announcement:

Some of you may know this, Mario and I are the two original creators of
the eduComponents. You may also know that the eduComponents are not
just a software project but also a project in e-learning research. If
you are interested in the ideas and the theory behind the outcomes, you
may want to have a look at my dissertation entitled

 Document-Oriented E-Learning Components

It was published last year, that's why I said above that the
announcement was somewhat delayed :-)

It's available from

 <http://dynalabs.de/mxp/dr/diss.pdf>

or

 <http://edoc.bibliothek.uni-halle.de/servlets/DocumentServlet?id=7205>

You can find the bibliographic information at

 <http://www.citeulike.org/user/mxp/article/5250847>

The dissertation is in English and, I think, quite readable ;-)

Greetings from Zurich

Hi there,

if you don't know who I am: I am Tübingen-based Zope/Plone developer
(ZOPYX), co-funder and 2nd chairman of the German Zope User Group and
member of the PloneEdu steering committee. The PloneEdu project was
funded some month ago by the Weblion group at Penn State University.
Basic goal of PloneEdu is : promoting Plone in the educational field.

During our last meeting I was approached to check back with you about
the current state of the eduComponents project. Is eduComponents still
an ongoing project? What are the near and mid-term goals of the project?
Given the fact that the eduComponents project produced a bunch of
software for Plone it would be nice to promote your work also through
the PloneEdu project to other educational institutions. If eduComponents
is still an ongoing project there could be synergies between your
project and perhaps other projects....there is a lot of fantastic
working going on the Plone educational area but a bunch of efforts are
just uncoordinated...so I am trying to get an overview how is doing what
and perhaps bringing projects closer together.

Regards,
Andreas

Hi guy

I am Leonardo Caballero [0], I'm from Mérida [2], Venezuela [1] and I
am working with Plone for education on some universities, and this
Friday I'll have a conference called "Plone for education" [3] where
I'll talk about eduComponents.

For that i would like to use Plone as Institutional WebSite, as
Intranet and as LMS.

Now i am comparing Moodle [4] with some products on Plone, and for
that i have been testing eduComponents and i like it so much all his
features.

I hope integrate eduCommons [5] with eduComponents, and other products
like a Chat, a Forum, a Blog, a Wiki and others things.

Since a few week ago, i have been working with offer a better support
about i18n and the Spanish L10n on Generic Setup Profile and some
Python Scripts, generating again news string from Archetypes's Classes
using a script like this [6], and other script like this [7] of course
adapted it for the eduComponents products.

I am working all the contributions from the Products release from
Plone product section and i don't where is the source code repository
by download the concurrent developer version and adapt my
contributions to the eduComponents project.

Also a few days ago, i try to register some new tickets on every
trackers [8] and i need create a user count.

I have some questions for you

1) How can supply these contribution to the project?

2) Is there any means or process for that?

3) Where is the Source Code Repository?, it is public?

4) Are you planning publish eduComponents products on Collective SVN

ECQuiz on Plone 2.5

Hi,

I'm considering using ECQuiz for a survey feature that a client needs on
their site but I'm initially wondering whether the latest version of
ECQuiz runs on Plone 2.5 and if not whether it would be possible for me
to perhaps backport some of the recent changes to a Plone 2.5-compatible
branch? Also, what kind of custom reporting can I get out of ECQuiz?

Thanks,
Tim

Plone 3 status of ECAAB and ECSpooler?

hi all,

i am just finding the eduComponents products, and i'm
very excited to try them out.

i have even done some work on executable exercises,
that seems very similar to your work on ECAAB and ECSpooler,
i found this post from last April, and am wondering how things are
moving on these?

thanks,

rik

all-in-one edit view for ECQuiz not available to second user?

(using ECQuiz 1.2, on Plone 3.3.1):

i have a draft of a quiz created, and i now want to let someone else
finish editting it. both are seeing the same ../ecq_quiz_view,
but despite every workflow state, sharing,
ownership, even changing ECQ-related actions via ZMI Security, ...
change i can think of, i get different editting behavior for
myself than for the new user.

functionally, i can make user2 able edit everything about the quiz,
it's just you need to "drill down" to each quiz item, each item
response, rather than having them all collected together with "Edit"
buttons. i'm attaching PNG's of what user1 (me) and the user2
both see.

any idea what would account for this difference?
thanks for any help.

rik

[ANN] ECAssignmentBox 1.4.2

The eduComponents team is pleased to announce a bugfix release of
ECAssignmentBox, 1.4.2.

About this release
==================

- Fixed issue: Assignments in state superseded can not be accessed by

submission is graded and state changed to Graded an 'TypeError: int
argument required' appears on the statistics tab.

- It's now possible to modify the submission period and other settings
for more than one assignment box at a time by using the 'set assignment
box options' action on ECFolder's content tab.

- ECAssignmentBox is now eggified and uploaded to PyPI (see installation
instructions below).
