Is there any release for click in the roadmap now ? I would like to use click for development as a new project but seeing the lack of activity in the project is concerning me and everyone else on the project. The last release was on march 27th 2011 and I can find a date for the next release anywhere..

Has anyone used the "Bootstrap, from Twitter" tool[1]? If so, would
you mind to share your experience using it with us?
For the Apache Click team: shouldn't it be a good style|theme
additions to the click framework?

Empty Table generates "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Null source parameter" instead of rendering "No records found."

Hi, all.

I'm playing around with the Click Framework and have run into a problem that
I can't seem to solve, even though I'm sure it is entirely my fault.

In a nutshell, I have a page with a form that contains a field set which in
turn contains a table. (It is similar to the AdvancedTable example but the
table is in a FieldSet on a Form.) The table has an associated data
provider that gets data from a service that reads from a database. When the
database has data already, the table renders as I would expect. However,
when there is no data in the database, I get a
"java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Null source parameter" instead of
rendering "No records found." (Full stack trace below.)

The HTML is as follows:

$form

The Java code is as follows:

< at >Component

public class ScottAssociationListPage extends BorderPage {

    private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;

    private Form form = new Form("form");

    private FieldSet fieldSet = new FieldSet("association");

    private Table table = new Table("table");

    private PageLink viewLink = new PageLink("view",
ScottAssociationViewPage.class);

    private PageLink editLink = new PageLink("edit",
ScottAssociationEditPage.class);

    private ActionLink deleteLink = new ActionLink("delete", this,
"onDeleteClick");

    private PageButton pageButtonAdd = new PageButton("pageButtonAdd",
ScottAssociationEditPage.class);

      < at >Resource(name="associationService")

      private IAssociationService associationService;

      /**

      *

       */

      public ScottAssociationListPage() {

        addControl(form);

        // Add controls

        fieldSet.setLegend("LS_Associations");

        form.add(fieldSet);

        // Setup fieldset

        fieldSet.add(table);

        // Setup table

        table.setClass(Table.CLASS_SIMPLE);

        table.setPageSize(4);

        table.setShowBanner(true);

        table.setSortable(false);

        table.setPaginator(new TableInlinePaginator(table));

        table.setPaginatorAttachment(Table.PAGINATOR_INLINE);

        table.addColumn(new Column("primaryKey", "LS_PrimaryKey"));

        table.addColumn(new Column("name", "LS_Name"));

        viewLink.setImageSrc("/assets/images/icon_view.png");

        viewLink.setTitle("View");

        editLink.setImageSrc("/assets/images/icon_edit.png");

        editLink.setTitle("Edit");

        editLink.setParameter("referrer",
"/scott/scottAssociationList.htm");

        deleteLink.setImageSrc("/assets/images/icon_delete.png");

        deleteLink.setTitle("Delete");

        deleteLink.setAttribute("onclick", "return window.confirm('Are you
sure you want to delete this record?');");

        Column column = new Column("action", "LS_Action");

        column.setTextAlign("center");

        AbstractLink[] links = new AbstractLink[] { viewLink, editLink,
deleteLink };

        column.setDecorator(new LinkDecorator(table, links, "primaryKey"));

        column.setSortable(false);

        table.addColumn(column);

        // Setup add button

        pageButtonAdd.setLabel("LS_Add");

        pageButtonAdd.setDisabled(false);

        fieldSet.add(pageButtonAdd);

        // Below we setup the table to preserve it's state (sorting and
paging)

        // while editing customers

//

//        table.getControlLink().setActionListener(new ActionListener() {

//

//            public boolean onAction(Control source) {

// // Save Table sort and paging state between requests.

// // NOTE: we set the listener on the table's Link control
which is invoked

// // when the Link is clicked, such as when paging or
sorting.

// // This ensures the table state is only saved when the
state changes, and

// // cuts down on unnecessary session replication in a
cluster environment.

//                table.saveState(getContext());

//                return true;

//            }

//        });

//

// // Restore the table sort and paging state from the session
between requests

//        table.restoreState(getContext());

      }

      < at >Override

      public boolean onSecurityCheck() {

            // TODO Auto-generated method stub

            return super.onSecurityCheck();

      }

    < at >Override

      public void onInit() {

            // TODO Auto-generated method stub

            super.onInit();

      }

      < at >Override

      public void onGet() {

            // TODO Auto-generated method stub

            super.onGet();

      }

      < at >Override

      public void onRender() {

            table.setDataProvider(new DataProvider<Association>() {

            private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;

            public List<Association> getData() {

                  ArrayList<Association> associations = new
ArrayList<Association>();

associations.add(associationService.findAssociation(null));

                return associations;

            }

        });

      }

}

Any thoughts on what I have done wrong here?

Any help is enormously appreciated.

Best regards,

Table.addRowAttributes()

Hi,

I'm trying to implement this method this way:

    table = new ExportTable("table") {

            < at >Override
            public void addRowAttributes(Map attributes, Object row, int
rowIndex) {
                Prospect p = (Prospect) row;
                if (user.getInstitutionId() != p.getInstitutionId()) {
                    attributes.put("class", "disabled");
                }
            }
        };

Then, my disabled class is defined in a css inside my project like this:

    tr.disabled {
        background-color: #444;
    }

However, I'm not seeing the change in color. I've also tried defining the
disabled class this way:

    disabled {
        background-color: #444;
    }

to no avail. For testing purposes, attributes.put("class", "odd"); renders
the odd color for the table.css class I chose, Table.CLASS_BLUE2 in this
example. Where am I supposed to define this additional table row class?

Cheers,
-Carlos

Hello,
I have a Click application and to safeguard the app from Cross Site
Scripting we are stripping off all of the < and > request tags in our
Filter. It works when the user enters something with these greater than or
less than tags into the input fields of the page.
But when we modify the URL itself with something like
=</td>

We still get an alert on the page even though we see in our logs that the
request goes through the filter and the tags get stripped off.
But it looks like the java script gets executed before we hit the filter.
We have the same set up in the other Struts application and this doesn't
happen.

Any suggestions?

tick Tree nodes from a list of ids

Hi,

I'm currently fiddling a lot with Tree and CheckboxTree and I was wondering
if there is a way to tick -not select- certain nodes of the tree with a
list of ids.

This is what I've tried so far:

CheckboxTree tree;
tree = buildTree();

            tree.setJavascriptEnabled(true);
            tree.setSelectChildNodes(true);
            tree.addListener(this);
            tree.setNotifyListeners(true);;

for(String id : idArrayList) {
                    tree.select(id);
                }

the above selects the node but does not tick the checkbox. I have noticed
that when I hover the checkbox something like this appears as action:

$context/checkbox-tree-page.htm?selectTreeNode=2

however, I can't figure how to set this field since it is a static field of
Tree:

/** The tree's select/deselect parameter name: <tt>"selectTreeNode"</tt>. */
    public static final String SELECT_TREE_NODE_PARAM = "selectTreeNode";

do you have any ideas? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Greetings,

Hi folks, I was wondering if there is a way to retain a checkbox status
(checked/unchecked) through a paginated FormTable. My purpose is to load a
FormTable with all its elements checked by default, and then have the user
uncheck undesired records before submitting. I was also thinking that a
Table kind implementation of the CheckListDemo example would work. What do
you think?

Pick values from a table

Hello everybody,

I created a click page with a table. The table has 5 columns and x rows.
The table is filled by using table.setRowList(resultList);

Up to this point everything works fine.
But now I need some help. On the rendered page with the table I need
to pick values from the table and pass them to another service (for
example by selecting them in the table and pressing a submit button).

The table looks like this:
col1 col2 col2 col4 col5
-----------------------------------
val1 val2 val3 val4 val5
val6 val7 val8 val9 val10

I need to select val4 and val9 (same column but different rows) and pass them.

At the moment I don't know how to achieve this. Has anybody a great
and simple idea?

Thanks a lot!
Alex

Hi,

I'm creating an ExportTable with a Edit PageLink and a Delete ActionLink.
So far no problems with the PageLink however the ExportTable does not seem
to like ActionLinks. When I click it, it does delete the record but it
crashes, the relevant parts of the exception thrown go like this:

[Click] [error] Velocity: Exception rendering
#parse(/comision/ReporteProspectos.htm) at /border-template.htm[line 186,
column 25]
[Click] [error] handleException: java.lang.NullPointerException

at org.apache.click.control.ActionLink.getHref(ActionLink.java:345)

pue.gob.mx.sle.utils.TableExportContainer.renderExportBanner(TableExportContainer.java:135)
at
pue.gob.mx.sle.utils.TableExportContainer.render(TableExportContainer.java:52)
at pue.gob.mx.sle.utils.ExportTable.render(ExportTable.java:216)

At first I thought I should be overriding the Form's onProcess method like
the Edit FormTable page from the examples, but still get the same error.
Maybe I should make ExportTable extend FormTable? Thanks in advance,

-Carlos

I would like to request that you include ability to put form validation

I would like to be able to do something like
form.setValidationErrorsInline(true) .

How to not bind variables when the form is invalid?

Hello all..
I must have missed something fundamental in click... sorry if this question
is really silly.

I have a simple form with a couple of dates, i don't use any custom
validation, only what click provides.
When the date is invalid, i get an error on the page.
But the invalid request parameter is already bound to the page variable and
is used to render the page.

I must be doing something wrong. How can I tell click not to use the
invalid parameter when the page renders?

Thank you!

I have used page footer with inline page navigator like this and the table
footer comes after page navigator.
        table.setPaginatorAttachment(Table.PAGINATOR_INLINE);

With normal page navigator page navigator is after table footer, I think,
it should be like this regardless of navigator type.

Thanks,

Adding MultiActionResult support

Hi there ;

I have not seen the official roadmap for the click anywhere (i mean
features to be added on future releases past 2.3.0) .

I would like to propose that the MultiActionResult support as implemented
on Ajax4Click library to be added to the core. This could probably lead to
2.3.1 .

Or is 2.3.0 the end of the road?

Deploy to Weblgic 10.3 Cluster Issue

Hi All,
Is anyone doing this? We ran into a VERY strange deployment issue when
deploying our Click application WAR on a Weblogic clustered environment.
The symptoms where this:
1.) Deployed to Server (from the Weblogic Console)
2.) Weblogic showed successful deployment and the WAR was active. No error
messages or warnings.
3.) Tried to run the app and were getting http 403 errors.
4.) Deployed same WAR file on a non-clustered Weblogic server and everything
was good. We could run the application with no problem.
5.) Looking at the weblogic log files, found this log entry:
<Error> <Deployer> <BEA-149265> <Failure occurred in the execution of
deployment request...
weblogic.management.DeploymentException: [Deployer:149003]Unable to access
application source information in...

after much toil and head scratching, we found this in our web xml:
&lt;security-constraint>
                <web-resource-collection>
                        <web-resource-name>WASN
Settlements</web-resource-name>
                        <url-pattern>*.htm</url-pattern>
                </web-resource-collection>...

We made this change to this section of the web.xml:
<security-constraint>
                <web-resource-collection>
                        <web-resource-name>WASN
Settlements</web-resource-name>
                        <url-pattern>*.html</url-pattern>
                </web-resource-collection>...

Notice the difference...*.htm and *.html

With this change, everything started working. Does anybody have any idea
why that is? Is this something we should ask Oracle/Weblogic support?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

File Download with Click?

Hello everyone

What is the best way to download files from a click application?

I would like to download to a text file, probably using the background
thread.
I need the user to click a link and see a popup where they can choose to
Save, Open or Cancel action.
If Save - they need to specify the file location.
If Open - they will need some "please wait" or a moving image while they
wait for the file to be generated.

What is the most common way to implement a file download in Click?
Thanks so much.

While reading some old discussions[1] I've discovered that sometime
ago there were an Controls+Community WIKI page, where the apache click
community could implement and share their customer controls.

Does anyone know where is it? The old link[2].

I think this place would improve our experience with the framework,
sharing it with each other.
