Hi,
I use 2.3beta08 with
Sqlite version: 3.7.15.2
wxPython version: 2.9.4.1
Python version: 2.7.4
on Linux-3.8.0-20-generic-x86_64-with-Ubuntu-13.04-raring

I have a problem with in Incremental Search, when I search a page
and the found string is outside the view, the page does not scroll to see the string.

I asked this before, but got no replies so perhaps this is my problem only.

What's new?

    * New wiki-bound option to set heading level for main title of
      new pages. Old option to set title prefix is outdated.
      See [OptionsDialog#*Heading level*]
    * Bug fixed: Headings in MediaWiki language could span over
      multiple lines
    * Bug fixed: Basic formatting (bold, italics, heading)
      didn't work for MediaWiki syntax

Hi Michael,

I've just pushed a patch to my repository that switches the wxNotebook
instance to a wxAuiNotebook. This means its possible to display multiple
pages side by side.

Its mostly a drop in replacement for the original and natively supports
a few of the features that were hacked into the original notebook (such
as tab dragging). At its current stage its almost fully functional,
though as of yet I've only tested on linux with wxPython 2.9.4).

Unforutantely I'm having trouble tracking some of the focus events -
which causing some issues which switching between editor/preview mode. I
suspect the easiest to get around this be to modify some of the
SubControl switching functions.

How do you feel about switching to the wxAuiNotebook as the main
notebook ctrl? or should I try and find another way around this issue so
its easy to keep it optional?

Getting "Bad Image" errors on startup of WikidPad

I've been using WikidPad (happily!) without issues for a few months.

I'm on Windows 7 and I'm using the latest binary.

I installed Microsoft WebMatrix to develop some websites offline, and after this I began getting eight errors on startup of WikidPad.

Each error box was titled "WikidPad.exe - Bad Image" and the text in the box said:

C:\Program Files (x86)\iis express\PHP\v5.3\******.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator of the software vendor for support.

where ******.dll is the following:

icudt.dll
icuin.dll
icuio.dll
icule.dll
iculx.dll
icutest.dll
icutu.dll
icuuc.dll

The iis express\PHP\v5.3\..... directory appears to have been installed when I installed WikidPad. When I installed WebMatrix, it appears like the php.ini file was altered, but none of the dll's listed above were altered.

Any insights as to why these errors would occur, and how I might go about fixing them?

Thanks for your time!

John

[WikidPad 2.3beta08] Problem with Favorite wiki configuration

Hi!

There are two little problems with the menu function

Wiki - Favorites - Manage favorites

1) The Return key isn't working when trying to edit the favorite wiki
configuration.

2) If "Tabs - Show folding" is activated there are error messages like
these:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "lib/pwiki/WikiTxtCtrl.py", line 1210, in OnStyleNeeded
    self.buildStyling(text, 0, threadstop=DUMBTHREADSTOP)
  File "lib/pwiki/WikiTxtCtrl.py", line 1558, in buildStyling
    foldingseq = self.processFolding(pageAst, threadstop)
  File "lib/pwiki/WikiTxtCtrl.py", line 1764, in processFolding
    foldNodeDict = self.getFoldingNodeDict()
  File "lib/pwiki/WikiTxtCtrl.py", line 1753, in getFoldingNodeDict
    return self.wikiLanguageHelper.getFoldingNodeDict()
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'getFoldingNodeDict'

Adding two lines before line 1753 in lib/pwiki/WikiTxtCtrl.py to get

        if self.wikiLanguageHelper is None:
            return {}
        return self.wikiLanguageHelper.getFoldingNodeDict()

silences the log, but hitting the Return key still gives then:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "lib/pwiki/WikiTxtCtrl.py", line 3092, in OnKeyDown
    if self.wikiLanguageHelper.handleNewLineBeforeEditor(self, text,
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute
'handleNewLineBeforeEditor'

Since editing the favorites started via "Treeview - Func.Pages -
Favorite wikis"
is working without problems I suspect that simply(?) the menu function
forgets to create a wikiLanguageHelper.

Hi,

although I write CamelCase words (e.g. CDs) to Wiki Funktion page cc.blacklist some(!) of these words still gerenate undefined Wikiword. Seems like the blacklist is buggy.

The blacklist file is in /data and is called wiki%2FCCBlacklist.data

This is its content

ACs
APCs
ArchLinux
ASRock
CDs
CPUs
HDDs
ISOs
MWSt
NoName
PCs
PDFs
WinXP

Still words like CDs are underlined black and listed in undefinde wikiwords, while ASRock get blackisted all right. All other blacklists (global.cc and the ncc files) are empty.

I use wikidPad 2.2rc05 (under Linux/Ubuntu 12.10).
The database type is SQLlite.

Deleting wikiovw.sli and then rebuilding the wiki didn't change it.

*Deleting the CDs from the blacklist and re-entering it to the blacklist -> CDs gets blackisted as intended. Wait, what?!*

I can't reproduce it myself, after I fixed it :(

Maybe it was jt a very unlucky combination of events. I just want to mention it here in case someone of you noticed similar behaviour.

Cheers,
Benni

PS: Wy are there separated blacklist for cc (camelcase i assume) and ncc (non-camelcase i assume)?

Dear list,

after years of happy use of WikidPad on Windows I'd like to install/use it now on a Ubuntu 12.10 system (newbe on Ubuntu).
So I have downloaded and decompressed WikidPad-2.1_01-src.zip . Following the advice on http://trac.wikidpad2.webfactional.com/wiki/InstallLinux I checked :
$ dpkg --get-selections | grep python-wxgtk
python-wxgtk2.8install
So in my understanding, this point should be OK.
Furthermore, on the system there is Python 2.7 and 3.2 (incl python2.7-dev, python3-dev, python-gtk2, ...), I'm not shure if this matters, I don't have pygtkconsole.py (not shure how to install it).
The WikidPad-Ubuntu page says also "all you need are the wxpython and wxtools packages", I think I have them all (pyton-wxgtk2.8,paython-wxtools,pmython-wxversion), but I'm not sure how to know exactely which libraries are concerned (Synaptic lists quite a few when I search for "wxpython").

Now, when I try to launch WikidPad I get this error :

$ python WikidPad.pyTraceback (most recent call last):
  File "WikidPad.py", line 1, in <module>
    import WikidPadStarter
  File "/usr/share/WikidPad/WikidPadStarter.py", line 21, in <module>
    from Consts import CONFIG_FILENAME, CONFIG_GLOBALS_DIRNAME
  File "/usr/share/WikidPad/Consts.py", line 1, in <module>
    from pwiki.Enum import Enumeration
ImportError: No module named pwiki.Enum

Unfortunately I don't know how to find "pwiki.Enum".
I see, it has been mentioned in http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/wikidPad/message/7839, but after all I thought one could run it on Ubuntu, ie without emulating Windows ? (the "workaround" mentioned).
Any hints ?

Thank's in advance,
Wolfgang

first off I have to say Thank you for such a wonderful program, Wikidpad is my most used program at this time (and the foreseeable future) for documenting and the like. this increased my productivity 5x over what it was.

I would like to find out about how to go about changing syntex to be compatible with dokuwiki. https://www.dokuwiki.org/wiki:syntax
I would like to be able to do all my writing and "building" of my wiki's with wikidpad and be able to import the files directly into dokuwiki without actually exporting the file and importing again. currently I have just been using doku-syntex and working through the parts of it that work, but other parts always have to be re-edited post move.

I don't think it would be hard to do but I have no idea how to do it.

please Keep up the good work!!!
thanks

I know that you can change the text colour of nodes in the tree, but to my mind this is not hugely useful…

Many very light colors are almost unreadable against the white background, and many dark colours are hard to distinguish when the text is only a few pixels wide.

I would prefer to set the background highlight colour of the node in the tree.

For example, black text on lemon yellow background or white text on charcoal grey background.

Is this possible at present? If not, could it be considered as an enhancement in future versions?

I guess this could cause an issue with the present system of highlighting the active node - hmmm. Sure there would be a suitable solution, such as inverting the color of the active node, or bolding the text.

Thanks,

Ampa

Was delighted to learn yesterday of this product, it sounds like exactly the app i've been waiting for…

So i followed the instructions at http://trac.wikidpad2.webfactional.com/wiki/InstallMacosx -first paragraph, most recent version (just ran the one-step curl script, since i a complete n00b at the command line); it seemed to install successfully, only i did not find any bootable app…

Then, near the end of same paragraph, i saw the link to wikidpad-2.2beta05.app.zip; downloaded and unpacked it, installed that .app in my Applications folder; tried to boot it and, after some delay, i get this error message:

8<---
WikidPad experienced a problem. Below is the output:
/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/Resources/Python.app/Contents/MacOS/Python: can't open file 'WikidPad.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory
--->8

I guess this means some file is not located where it should be in the directory tree, maybe cuz i did not follow the correct order of operations here… But now i am in over my head, obviously. Can you advise?

Oh, and FYI: Am running Mac OS X 10.7.5 on Intel MacBook Pro, if that helps. I append terminal script of the install session, also in case it helps. Thanks for your attention!

Yours, Walt

Mimicking the Views capability for page attributes within the Wiki itself

Hi!

I see great value in using Attributes to build Views to shows a tree view of attributes and associated pages. However I would love to be able to have this same capability within the Wiki itself.

For example, if I have the following 4 pages, then I'd like to replace the <<List Pages With Attribute of Owner>> with a command that generates the output demonstrated below...

Page 1
[Owner: John]

Page 2
[Owner: Bob]

Page 3
[Owner: John]

Page 4
Page Owners
<<List Pages With Attribute of Owner>>
Owner
    * John
        * Page 1
        * Page 3
    * Bob
        * Page 2

Is there a way to achieve this?

Many thanks,
Coopsnakes.

todo getter extension

Hi all,
Here comes my todo getter extension. The docstring explains how it
works.This was inspired by the ToDoExtension by Christian Ziemski.This
is very fresh software! Be careful and back up before use.This will
probably make it into a future version of the mecplugins./bjorn

# -*- coding: utf-8 -*-WIKIDPAD_PLUGIN = (("hooks", 1),)
'''todo-getter version 0.0.1-------------------------
This is very much alpha software.Only tested on wikidPad 2.3beta07
running withPython version: 2.7.3 (default, Aug  1 2012, 05:14:39)[GCC
4.6.3]with Sqlite version: 3.7.9 and wxPython version: 2.9.4.1on
Linux-3.2.0-38-generic-x86_64-with-Ubuntu-12.04-precise
This plugin was inspired by Christian Ziemski's todo-extension
http://www.ziemski.net/wikidpad/index.html
The todo-getter is similar in the sense that it tries to sort todosby
date into different categories depending on how far in the futurethey
fall. Unlike the todo-extension, the todo-getter expects datedtodos to
be placed on pages that are have names that are iso dates:yyyy-mm-dd
like 2007-03-22 for example, and the date (or deadline)of the todo
depends on the page where it is located.
todos on other pages are "undated".
Todos are created according to the following format:
todo.tag1.tag2.tag3: remeber to buy milk!==== ===============
====================type    categores     message
"type" is any of the todo types ("todo", "done", "action",
"track","issue", "question" or "project")
todos are sorted and gathered on specific pages named according tothis
principle:
[todo_type_tag1_tag2_tag3]
For example, the todo above would end up on the page:
[todo_todo_tag1_tag2_tag3]
While the todo item:
question.high: How do I get rich quick?
would end up on the page
[todo_question_high]
and the todo item
question.low: Pay my debt!
would end up on [todo_question_low]
Note that the page [todo_question] would only contain thequestions with
no tags, while [todo_question_ALL] wouldcontain both high and low (plus
all other tags).
The tag comparison is case insensitive and also not sensitive tothe
order of the tags. This means that tags are similar togmail labels.
Thus the todo items:
todo.car.important: wash car!
todo.important.car: fix car!
would both end up on
[todo_todo_car_important] or
[todo_todo_important_car]

---
My usage:
Page                    content
[todo_todo]             all todos without tags[todo_todo_home]
stuff todo around the house[todo_done_ALL] all dones without
tags[todo_track]            all tracks without tags
I use track for tracking things I ask of other people.FP,GR,AC,FA,GT and
DB are six different people. The things Iask of them end up on the
pages:
[todo_track_FP][todo_track_GR][todo_track_AC][todo_track_FA][todo_track_\
GT][todo_track_DB]
[todo_track_ALL]        All of them

The todo_track_FP will have the content below. Each todo will besorted
depending on when it happens (= what the date of the pagewhere it is
located might be). The todos of today gets selected forvisual feedback.

Hi all,
I run 2.3beta07 on Python 2.7.3 and with wxPython 2.9.4.1.
I get the error messages below in the error log at each startup.

I also have problems with the Incremental Search, the page does not scroll when search results are below the current view.

Any ideas on how to solve these problems? thanks /bjorn
