The good news is that we have an equivalent list for Apache OpenOffice
and you are welcome to subscribe to that list.

To join the new list, send an email to
ooo-dev-subscribe< at >incubator.apache.org. This should be done from the
email account where you want to receive the list messages.

This will generate a confirmation email which will be sent to your
email address. You will need to reply to the confirmation email in
order to complete your subscription to the new list.

To send posts to the new list, you will mail them to the following
address: ooo-dev< at >incubator.apache.org

Endspurt Version 3.4

Hallo zusammen

https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/AOO+3.4+Unofficial+Developer+Snapshots

Alle
Builds sind multilingual.

Gruss Raphael

Hello,

I execute the following basic macro on a text document:

xFormula = ThisComponent.createInstance("com.sun.star.text.TextEmbeddedObject")

xFormula.setPropertyValue("CLSID", "078B7ABA-54FC-457F-8551-6147e776a997")
xFormula.setPropertyValue("AnchorType", 1)

xTextViewCursor = ThisComponent.getCurrentController().getViewCursor()
xDocumentText = xTextViewCursor.getText()
xModelCursor = xDocumentText.createTextCursorByRange(xTextViewCursor.getEnd())

xDocumentText.insertTextContent(xModelCursor, xFormula, true)

This successfully inserts an empty smath formula in the document.

Now I do this:

1. Delete the formula
2. Undo the deletion
3. Copy the formula
4. Paste the formula

and I get a little box saying "Object1" in red type, but not formula!!!

What am I doing wrong? Needless to say, this behaviour does not occur
when I create the formula through the UI. And I thought I was following
the devguide with my macro code.

Thanks for any ideas!

I would like to try and change those functions in order to run them in
parallel processes using MPI or OpenMP.
Where can i get the source code for OpenOffice and how do i find the add

If you know any similar attempts to parallelize those or another OpenOffice

help you can offer.

Thank you,

How to use Thread Affinity Bridge of URE(oo2.3)

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Uno/Spec/Thread_Affinity_Bridge

However, we are not sure how to use Thread_Affinity_Bridge correctly. Going
through some links it seems we need to change the environment mapping to
"uno::affine" in order to use Thread Affinity( see
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Uno/Spec/Purpose_Environment)

But we are not sure how exactly to use this.
Please let us know the steps we need to perform in order to enable the
thread affine environment in URE(OO2.3)

Query related to behavior of XInvocation::invoke() method

We are using a scripting language to bind with UNO. To achieve this we
developed a bridge which uses the same concept and design as mentioned on
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/DevGuide/AdvUNO/XInvocation_Bridge
(i.e. When scripting language creates a reference of UNO
interface/component, our bridge internally creates Proxy for the same. When
scripting language invokes any method on UNO component, our bridge processes
that method call by invoking invoke() method of
“com.sun.star.script.XInvocation” interface.

Here, is our script which invokes the interface methods which are
implemented in C++
==========================================================
// Script
Obj = getInterface();
Obj.method1()
Obj.method2()
==========================================================

method1() and method2() gets invoked properly from Script.
However, we observed that, even if we invoke method1() and method2() on the
same Obj, sometimes the methods (i.e. method1 () and method2 ()) are being
invoked in a separate thread and sometimes in the same thread. (We confirmed
this by printing thread id in the implementation of method1() and
method2()).

So the question is:
Does the Xinvocation::invoke() internally creates separate threads to invoke
the different interface methods on the same object?

Hi,

Newbie question here - what code coverage tools are recommended for use

I've been running into issues with the build failing at some module - so
I'm wondering whether to continue and try using gcov, or whether there is
any other recommended tool for obtaining code coverage.

Announcement: This mailing list is being migrated to Apache

Please read this note in its entirety. It contains important
information related to this mailing list, its migration to the Apache
Software Foundation, and the steps you must take to ensure continuous
access to the list.

Background

As you may have heard, Oracle contributed the OpenOffice.org (OOo)
code to Apache in June. All new projects at Apache start in the
"Incubator", a special part of Apache where new projects ("Podlings")
and their communities are given special attention by Apache "mentors"
as they learn about Apache, ensure that the source code meets Apache's
license requirements, and work toward their initial Apache release.

In parallel with the coding efforts needed before we can publish
Apache OpenOffice.org 3.4.0, the Apache OpenOffice.org community,
working with the Apache Infrastructure team, is migrating the many
legacy OOo websites and other online services formerly hosted by
Sun/Oracle onto Apache servers. This has been a huge effort and we are
showing good progress in many areas.

You can read more about the current status of the migration effort on
this wiki page:
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/OpenOffice.org+Migration+Status

Additional relevant information is published in our project blog at:
http://blogs.apache.org/OOO/

Resubscribing

Among the services hosted by Oracle on the legacy OOo servers are over
300 mailing lists, including the dev< at >openoffice.org mailing list you
are reading now. In order to preserve your subscription to the list,
you will need to resubscribe to the new list address, per the
following instructions:

1. Send an email to ooo-dev-subscribe< at >incubator.apache.org. This
should be done from the email account where you want to receive the
list messages.

2. This will generate a confirmation email which will be sent to
your email address. You will need to reply to the confirmation email
in order to complete your subscription to the new list.

3. To send posts to the new list, you will mail them to the
following address: ooo-dev< at >incubator.apache.org

4. And if you ever want to unsubscribe to the new list, you can do
so by sending an email to ooo-dev-unsubscribe< at >incubator.apache.org

We invite and encourage you to follow the above steps and to
participate in Apache OpenOffice.org project. If you have any
questions, feel free to post as responses to this note, or send a
question to ooo-dev< at >incubator.apache.org.

Notes

1. We recommend that you do not subscribe via a legacy
openoffice.org email address. It is uncertain at this point whether
these addresses will be supported in the future.

2. Archives of the legacy mailing lists are available here:
http://openoffice.markmail.org/

3. Archives of the new mailing lists will be available here:
http://markmail.org/search/+list:org.apache.incubator.ooo-dev

files/folders in the source code I should be looking at?

Hi there,

maybe one of the last announcements, before Oracle shuts down these lists:

A student of WU Vienna, Franz Hohenegger, created a nice BNF-editing/transforming package for his
Diploma Thesis entitled "BNF4OOo - Managing Backus-Naur-Forms with OpenOffice".

Here is what the author says about his package:

    /Author's Abstract (English):/

    "This diploma thesis is about a program named BNF4OOo <http://sourceforge.net/projects/bnf4ooo/>
    which enables the user to manage different supported BNF
    <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backus%E2%80%93Naur_Form>-dialects and make own customized BNF
    <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backus%E2%80%93Naur_Form>-dialects as well. These dialects can be
    transferred into character-based syntax diagrams and a XML format closely related to IBM's DITA
    <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darwin_Information_Typing_Architecture>. OpenOffice
    <http://www.OpenOffice.org> is used as a graphical inferface for the transformations. This work
    describes the supported BNF-dialects with their used syntax structures and their implementation
    in BNF4OOo <http://sourceforge.net/projects/bnf4ooo/>. Furthermore it introduces the internal
    logic and structure of BNF4OOo <http://sourceforge.net/projects/bnf4ooo/>."

You can get at this work by pointing your browser to
<http://wi.wu.ac.at:8002/rgf/diplomarbeiten/index.htm#dipl_201110>:

  * Clicking on the title gives you the PDF version of his thesis which nicely explains BNF and his
    work, which optionally allows to use OpenOffice.org writer as a GUI-based editor.
  * Clicking on the zip-link downloads his package.

Future updates will be placed on that project's Sourceforge home:
<http://sourceforge.net/projects/bnf4ooo/>.

Some highlights:

  * using OOo as a GUI (including his tools and configuration editor) via the OOo menu-system and a
    BNF-toolbar,
  * importing (extended) BNF textfiles,
  * rendering eBNFs to various kind of rail-diagrams and syntax definitions (text, but also XML,
    based on DITA, such that one can use DITA to create even more breath-taking rail-diagrams),
  * exporting raildiagrams as pictures, as HTML, and exporting the eBNF definitions as (individual)
    text files inclduing XML-DITA.

His package can also be used stand-alone via the commandline (including the ability to define ones
own extended BNF dialect)!

If you have any questions, then please come forward.

Regards,

---rony

P.S.: The package also works with LibreOffice, needless to say.

Problems downloading source through Mercurial

Hi,
I am trying to download the source for building Open Office. I am new to all of this but have used SVN before (never Mercurial though). I have Mac OS X 10.7.1.
My problem is that when I type, hg clone http://hg.services.openoffice.org/DEV300 ooo_source, nothing happens. Finally, I get the following: error: abort: error: Operation timed out
However, when I type, say, hg clone https://code.google.com/p/core-plot/, it works.

Hallo,

Bericht:

http://blogs.fsfe.org/stehmann/?p=102

Dieses Jahr befassen sich zwei Themen mit OpenOffice.org.

Alexander Bahlo von CAcert wird über das "Signieren von Dokumenten in
OpenOffice.org/LibreOffice" sprechen. Und ich werde etwas über
"Canzeley", ein Kanzleiprogramm für Rechtsanwaltskanzleien, erzählen,
welches auf OpenOffice.org und MySQL basiert.

Gruß
Michael
