Hi,

I read this message :
<http://blogs.sun.com/GullFOSS/entry/aes_encryption_for_openoffice_org>
and then :
[allfeatures] changed/cws mav60 : Improve ODF1.2 encryption supporte in OOo.
<http://openoffice.org/projects/www/lists/allfeatures/archive/2011-03/message/2>

Does it also apply to the encryption method for password-protected Basic libraries ?
Answer may be obvious for the designer, but it should be clearly indicated.
Issue 117562 does not test this aspect, also.

[framework-dev] dispatch framework not respected in calc for inserting new sheet

Hi all

the whole suite menus/action use dispatch framework

this is useful when one want to disable some UI commands by code (eg.
for extension developers)

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/DevGuide/WritingUNO/Disable_Commands

especially, it is said :
The dispatch framework works with the design pattern chain of
responsibility
...
The disable commands implementation is the first chain member and can
therefore work as a wall for all disabled commands. They are not be sent
to the next chain member, and disappear.

applying this to "Insert" command works for menu entries (insert > sheet
or right click on a sheet tab) - see given macro code

but, the Insert is still available by clicking empty space near sheet tabs

--> these functionality should respect the dispatch framework

it sounds a bug to me.

any idea on how to avoid this ?

Thanks in advance

Laurent

Hi all

i have a macro running and i want to deactivate OOo while it is running,
so that the user can't activate any menu nor click inside the sheet

under windows & linux, it works using
thisComponent.CurrentController.Frame.ContainerWindow.Enable = False

But under macosX, the main menus (File, Edit, ...) are still active

I tried adding
oLayout = ThisComponent.CurrentController.getFrame.LayoutManager
oLayout.HideElement("private:resource/menubar/menubar/")
and it works under linux and windows, the main menus disappear

But no success under MacOsX i think due to menus detached of the OOo
document window

is there any trick to lock OOo main menu under macOsX ?
(the best would be cross-plateform compatible ;) )

thanks in advance

HI All,

I am Ameya , I want to contribute to the open office .org open source
projects.

I have been learning C for past 9 months & am pretty comfortable with it ,
but i want to test my skills on practical applications.

I have been through The To-dos list of framework & saw that the skills
required are C++ & also the difficulty level is medium.

So i decided to work on these projects.

Can any one of you help me on how to start?

Ameya

Hi,

Maybe I have missed something...

The menus that I create for my extensions are *not properly displayed*
in the builds towards 3.3.0.

Imagine it should be

My Menu
  AAA
  BBB
  ---
  SUB >> AAA
  ---    BBB
  CCC    ---
  DDD    CCC
         ---
         DDD
         EEE

It displays correct in 320
In 330m1 (or 300m83...), it may look like

My Menu
  AAA
  ---
  CCC
  DDD
  BBB
  ---
  SUB >> AAA
         BBB
         ---
         CCC
         ---
         DDD
         EEE

Also, creating a new extension with the Addon Builder gives an error
that the basic library cannot be found.

Are there changes that I should be aware off?

Thanks,
Cor

Hi,

I created a new hrc & src in svx/source/tbxctrls to define a resource
entry for the string 'Find' of Find Toolbar(some other strings will also
be defined later). The new hrc is defined as:
#define RID_SVXSTR_FINDBAR_FIND 1

, and the src is defined as:
String RID_SVXSTR_FINDBAR_FIND
{
    Text [ en-US ] = "Find" ;
};
There would be a compiling warning "Global resources should have an
identifier >= 256", so I changed 1 to 256. Will this number(256) be
conflicted with other identifier number? How to choose the identifier
number when defining a resource entry?

[framework-dev] office restart service

I see the following problem with the implementation of
<http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=108704> "Need UNO
service for restarting the office process" in combination with its use
in the implementation of
<http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=77196> "Bundled
extensions":

108704 makes available a service that shuts down the running soffice
process and restarts it with the same command line arguments it was
originally started with. (At least, that is my understanding from
glancing at the code.)

77196 wants to make use of that service to decide, during soffice start,
whether changes to bundled extensions require an immediate soffice restart.

A starting soffice opens two kinds of connection acceptors. For one, it
starts an inter-office "IPC" connection
(desktop/source/app/officeipcthread.cxx), used to make sure that only
one soffice process is ever running for a given user at a given point in
time (presumably to avoid chaos in the UserInstallation), and
additionally started soffice processes for that user connect to the
initial process and pass their command line arguments to the initial
process, which then handles them. For another, it starts URP connection
endpoints for all the "-accept" arguments passed in on the command line.

It is important in which order the three events (77196-restart,
accepting "IPC", and accepting "-accept") happen during startup.

Accepting "-accept" should come after 77196-restart (otherwise, there
would be the problem of an external process connecting to the first
soffice instance, only to immediately afterwards loose its connection
again when soffice restarts). This is the easy part.

The problem is with the ordering of accepting "IPC" and 77196-restart.

If accepting "IPC" happens before 77196-restart, a second soffice
process can pass its command line arguments to the first instance of the
first, accepting soffice process, which then restarts and thus forgets
about the command line arguments from the second process. The net
effect for the user is that his second soffice invocation (requesting to
open a specific document, or to accept on a specific UNO endpoint)
appears to have no effect.

If accepting "IPC" happens after 77196-restart, this enlarges the time
span in which multiple soffice processes for a single user can run
concurrently, potentially causing chaos in the UserInstallation.

Hi Carsten and Mikhail,

Please excuse me but I need you to clarify this to avoid possible
misunderstandings: which views did you refer to the "classic", the "current"
and the "disabled" respectly please? I have to admit I'm a little confused
because the "classic view for OOo 2.0" seems to be referring the same view
as "disabled" which is a grey window without any UI controls. And the new
look of the StartCenter of DEV300_m77 adds to my confusions.

And another question: is there a quick way to merge and deliver the modified
configuration files into an installed office without repacking the whole
installation set and reinstalling? I would appreciate if you can teach me
some tricks.

Thanks and Best Regards,
Felix.

Shortly before Carsten rushed towards FOSDEM today, he managed to upload
the beta version of the new find bar and asked me to announce it.

It can be downloaded from here:
ftp://qa-upload.services.openoffice.org/findbar_beta/

At times, Linux (archive), Windows and Mac versions are available.

Feel free to have a look and give feedback here.

[framework-dev] about dispatching commands and implementing a DispatchProvider

Hi Carsten,

For the findbar feature, a shortcut key(e.g.: Ctrl+G) is defined to
set the current cursor to the EditControl of the findbar, here are two
methods to dispatch the command(e.g.: .uno:SearchText, which can be
got by the Accelerators configuration):

1)Define the command 'SearchText' and the corresponding slotID in sdi
files and handle them via shells in swriter/scalc/simpress.

2)Implement a DispatchProvider for command .uno:SearchText, here are
the ideas how to implement this:
- add a new unocommandsdispatcher.hxx/cxx in
framework/source/dispatch/, implement a new UNO component
UnoCommandsDispatcher, which implements interfaces XDispatchProvider
and XDispatch. In the dispatch call we can set the cursor to the
EditControl of the findbar by such way:
getLayoutManager(m_xFrame)->getElement("private:resource/toolbar/findbar")->GetWindow()->GetItemWindow(nId)->GrabFocus().

- make some changes for
framework/source/dispatch/dispatchprovider.cxx, below is part of the
patch:
--- dispatchprovider.old.cxx2010-02-04 03:22:12.000000000 +0800
+++ dispatchprovider.new.cxx2010-02-07 15:51:26.750000000 +0800
< at >< at > -509,6 +509,14 < at >< at >
xDispatcher = xController->queryDispatch(aURL, SPECIALTARGET_SELF, 0);
}

+        if ( ! xDispatcher.is() )
+        {
+            if ( aURL.Complete.equalsAscii(".uno:SearchText") )
+            {
+                xDispatcher = implts_getOrCreateDispatchHelper(
E_UNOCOMMANDSDISPATCHER, xFrame);
+            }
+        }
+
// If controller has no fun to dispatch these URL - we must search
another right dispatcher.
// Search for any registered protocol handler first.
if (!xDispatcher.is())
< at >< at > -769,6 +777,13 < at >< at >
                     xDispatchHelper = css::uno::Reference<
css::frame::XDispatch >( static_cast< ::cppu::OWeakObject*
                 }
                 break;
+
+        case E_UNOCOMMANDSDISPATCHER:
+            {
+                UnoCommandsDispatcher* pDispatcher = new
UnoCommandsDispatcher(xFactory, xOwner);
+                xDispatchHelper = css::uno::Reference<
css::frame::XDispatch >( static_cast< ::cppu::OWeakObject*
+            }
+            break;
     }

     return xDispatchHelper;

Method 2) should be better than 1), do you think above implementation
of the DispatchProvider is all right, and is there any other better
way to do this?

Hi,

At present, there are two UNO interfaces com.sun.star.frame.XModel2 and
com.sun.star.frame.XController2, is it a plan to provide one
XViewControllerFactory and one XViewController to create views for
models? ,and the possible XViewController will also provide some other
methods as well.?

A new generic frame loader, which is needed by, e.g.: the enhancement of
autorecovery feature, could be implemented in framework after the above
methods are implemented. Currently(as for DEV300_m69), the two methods
createDefaultViewController and createViewController remain
unimplemented for sfx based documents.? or the implementation of these
methods has been done, but has not been committed to ooo source
repository yet?

http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/features/3.2/beta.html#general_odf

"As OpenOffice.org 3.2 currently requires a superset of the ODF 1.2
specification, the software now warns users when ODF 1.2 Extended
features have been used."

How can I explain that to a 'normal user'?
I did not see any pointer in the release notes page.

Thanks,
Cor
