Announcement: List Migration to ooo-dev list

Please read this note in its entirety. It contains important
information related to this mailing list, its migration to the Apache
Software Foundation, and the steps you must take to ensure continuous
access to the list.

Background

As you may have heard, Oracle contributed the OpenOffice.org (OOo) code
to Apache in June. All new projects at Apache start in the "Incubator",
a special part of Apache where new projects ("Podlings") and their
communities are given special attention by Apache "mentors" as they
learn about Apache, ensure that the source code meets Apache's license
requirements, and work toward their initial Apache release.

In parallel with the coding efforts needed before we can publish Apache
OpenOffice.org 3.4.0, the Apache OpenOffice.org community, working with
the Apache Infrastructure team, is migrating the many legacy OOo
websites and other online services formerly hosted by Sun/Oracle onto
Apache servers. This has been a huge effort and we are showing good
progress in many areas.

You can read more about the current status of the migration effort on
this wiki page:
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/OpenOffice.org+Mig
ration+Status

Additional relevant information is published in our project blog at:
http://blogs.apache.org/OOO/

Resubscribing

Among the services hosted by Oracle on the legacy OOo servers are over
300 mailing lists, including the dev-YWaVCsv5WAFmGtoHLuoWFYEi6QHJFnWz2LY78lusg7I< at >public.gmane.org
mailing list you are reading now. In order to preserve your
subscription to the list, you will need to resubscribe to the new list
address, per the following instructions:

1. Send an email to ooo-dev-subscribe-d1GL8uUpDdXTxqt0kkDzDlN6ohzGQtmt< at >public.gmane.org This should
be done from the email account where you want to receive the list
messages.

2. This will generate a confirmation email which will be sent to your
email address. You will need to reply to the confirmation email in
order to complete your subscription to the new list.

3. To send posts to the new list, you will mail them to the following
address: ooo-dev-d1GL8uUpDdXTxqt0kkDzDmD2FQJk+8+b< at >public.gmane.org

4. And if you ever want to unsubscribe to the new list, you can do so
by sending an email to ooo-dev-unsubscribe-d1GL8uUpDdXTxqt0kkDzDmD2FQJk+8+b< at >public.gmane.org

We invite and encourage you to follow the above steps and to
participate in Apache OpenOffice.org project. If you have any
questions, feel free to post as responses to this note, or send a
question to ooo-dev-d1GL8uUpDdXTxqt0kkDzDlN6ohzGQtmt< at >public.gmane.org

Notes

1. We recommend that you do not subscribe via a legacy openoffice.org
email address. It is uncertain at this point whether these addresses
will be supported in the future.

2. Archives of the legacy mailing lists are available here:
http://openoffice.markmail.org/

INFO: New home and EOL of this mailing list in the near future

Hi,

It's probably not news to you, but in case you haven't heard, the
OpenOffice.org project has a new home under the Apache Software Foundation (
http://incubator.apache.org/openofficeorg/index.html). And some things are
going different under Apache. We will have only one project - Apache Open
Office - and the number of mailing lists will be limited to only a few (see
http://incubator.apache.org/openofficeorg/mailing-lists.html). There is a
common consensus that we will create new mailing lists with specific topics
if necessary but at the moment we will move forward with only few lists to
concentrate the information flow. From my point of view it's an advantage
compared to the former setup with many projects and many project related
mailing lists.

As the project lead of the API and Extension project i would like to inform
you that this mailing list will go end of life soon (exact date not known
yet) and further discussion on API and Extension specific topics should
happen on the ooo-dev-d1GL8uUpDdXTxqt0kkDzDmD2FQJk+8+b< at >public.gmane.org mailing list. I recommend that
you join the Apache OpenOffice project and subscribe (mail to
ooo-dev-subscribe-d1GL8uUpDdXTxqt0kkDzDmD2FQJk+8+b< at >public.gmane.org) on the ooo-dev list asap and help to
make this new Apache project successful in the same way as before under the
old setup. Well it's not really a new project but more the continuation of
the former official OpenOffice.org project. New in the sense that it is now
under the umbrella of the Apache foundation.

Maybe there will be some mail forwarding mechanisms established to ensure
that we won't lose any messages in the future but i hope that you all will
subscribe to the ooo-dev-d1GL8uUpDdXTxqt0kkDzDmD2FQJk+8+b< at >public.gmane.org mailing lists and that we
accept the new project under Apache as it is.

The migration of the project infrastructure to Apache is ongoing (source
code, website, wiki, forum, ...) and there are still a lot of things to do.
Every helping hand is welcome. Some things will change under Apache because
of the already existing rules there and we want to be a good and well formed
project there. Every change is also the opportunity to make things better
(if necessary) in the future. And you can be part of this important move of
OOo and can help to move things forward.

The good thing at Apache is that it is independent, well accepted in the
open source world and all project members are equal. Important is that the
rules of the Apache foundation and the project are accepted and that things
are getting done.

I hope to see you all on the new project and the
ooo-dev-d1GL8uUpDdXTxqt0kkDzDmD2FQJk+8+b< at >public.gmane.org mailing list soon. I am looking forward to an
interesting and challenging future of OOo under the umbrella of the Apache
foundation.

Hi all,

Is there a list of uno names of the standard menus and menu items used
in OOo?

I've been searching the wiki's and internet all day.

I'm using OfficeMenuBarMerging in an extension to replace menu items.

I need to use the File menu, New command in a format similar to:
<value>.uno:FileMenu\.uno:NewDoc</value>
but I don't think that's correct.

When I use a combination I know is correct the extension works. Like:
<value>.uno:ToolsMenu\.uno:WordCountDialog</value>

I found a list of the uno commands at:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Framework/Article/OpenOffice.org_3.x_Commands

I'm working on an extension that will replace some commands in the File
menu.

Sample
<node oor:name="OfficeMenuBarMerging">
<node oor:name="net.codebuilders.ooo.filelocation.main" oor:op="replace">
<node oor:name="s1" oor:op="replace">
<prop oor:name="MergePoint">
<value>.uno:FileMenu\.uno:NewDoc</value>

Is there something seriously wrong with the extensions website. Every
time I try to search for, or download an extension (if I am lucky enough
to get a result) from the site, I get systematic timeouts. Is this a
sign of the times, or is it just a glitch after the transition to new
servers ?

For a new user, trying to use the extensions site is like running
through a boobytrapped labyrinth, I bet most of them just give up.

Additionally, the presentation of the site has completely changed, for
some reason the results are now displayed in a very basic HTML layout
without all that graphical goodness that used to make the site so
inviting. What happened ?

to reduce the maintenance effort for the SDK in the future i plan to
cleanup the SDK a little bit. The first step should be to remove some of
the examples that are either redundant or not really important. But i
plan to make the sources available somewhere else in a new separate
repository where i plan to host more examples in the future.

So far i plan to remove

<sdk>/examples/java/*

<sdk>/examples/java/remoteclient

If anybody has a problem with this cleanup please let me know asap.

Context Menu interceptor with XFrameActionListener

Hi all,

I making a little extension in Java. This extension has JobExecutor to
activate ContextMenuInterceptor. When a new document is created or a old
one is loaded, this extension intercepts Context Menu and adds some
items and submenu items to it.

But, as Ariel explains in his post [1], the matter is that when a user
goes to Preview:

"the controller where you registered your interceptor is
disposed, when the user comes back to the normal view, a NEW controller
is created, and you will have to register your interceptor "again"
[technically: for the first time with this new controller]."

So Ariel suggest to:

"XFrameActionListener to the Frame the component is attached
to. You will get notified for every frame action.
If the frame action event (FrameActionEvent.Action) is
FrameAction.COMPONENT_ATTACHED or FrameAction.COMPONENT_REATTACHED,"

I'm a really newbie about extensions and UNO development, so I don't
know how to add XFrameActionListener into JobExecutor.java. I'm trying
to find any OOo Java extension which works with context menu
interception and xframeactionlistener, but nothing found yet.

Any suggest will be appreciate,

Thanks and best regards,

Dooteo

xslt filter in an extension xcu file

Hi (Mathias),

according to
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/DevGuide/OfficeDev/Properties_of_a_Filter
I did the entries in the userdata prop as follows:
<value
oor:separator=",">com.sun.star.documentconversion.XSLTFilter,,com.sun.star.comp.Calc.XMLOasisImporter,com.sun.star.comp.Calc.XMLOasisExporter,%origin%/xslt/Adressbuch/AddressImport.xslt,%origin%/xslt/Adressbuch/AddressExport.xslt</value>

After installing the extension under tools/xml filter setting only the
export filter is presented. Any hints?

Regards

Peter

BTW: This dialog (Edit..) shows some old file formats (.sxw, .stw),
which should be replaced.

MediaWiki - problem with German MediaWiki

Hello!

When I use this extension in OpenOffice 3.3.0 (German installation) to provide a German MediaWiki the login process fails - in case of anonymous login too.

We read in log file that the request POST ... special:userlogin ... will be redirected by the serving system to the German default page and in this case added login parameters will be lost or are going to an indefinitive state.

We need this page request: "spezial:Anmeldung"
