    <description>Hi,

I've run into a Problem with changing the compiler of a class in a Tweak
System. (JavaScriptCompiler from Marcus Denkers Babel)

Tweak overiders

Metaclass&gt;&gt;compilerClass
^thisClass compilerClass

but this has the effect, that you can't define a new compiler class on
the class side, because the system uses the new compiler for the class
and the instance sides.

Bert Freudenberg help me with creating a fix, which I uploaded to

- changed compilerClass, evaluatorClass and parserClass in Metaclass to

Problem is, I set the field, I get a changed event, I convert the

around and around I go.

propertyValueAt: key put: newValue with: changeEvent
"Store the value of my property at key"

myProperties ifNil:[myProperties := IdentityDictionary new].
oldValue := myProperties atProperty: key put: newValue.
oldValue == newValue ifTrue:[^newValue].
self signalChanged: changeEvent from: oldValue to: newValue.
^newValue

Does ==, which fails because '123' == (123 asString) fails.

WHats the proper pattern for this use of tweak fields and input fields?

<description>Can somebody tell me the correct runes for managing window order?

I have UIs that use a variety of player/costume arrangements, all
using CWindows with the title frame, and all seem happily reorder
themselves upon mouseDown.

I get into trouble when I close, open or "reopen" them (reopen being
repeating a menu call that opens a single-instance UI or requests
activation of an already open instance).

I've been able to track down the close, closeRequest, beTopWIndow
methods, as well as sending around activate signals. What I seem to
be missing is a reliable way to force a window to the front of the
stack; it seems that sending #activate just gets me the correct
appearance in the window frame (without actually bringing the window
forward).

Trying to understand CWindowManager has given me a bad headache!

You need to wait for another fix (cleanup for multiple event waits) Bert

Unless you are willing to wait for a full garbage collect between mouse

    <description>Hi everyone

I have been building quite a large project in morphic the last 6 months
(hobby, part-time 6 months). I have been considering which way it should go
now and as a result did my usual look around the language scene. Tweak looks
very nice and does a lot of the things I was trying to achieve in a
framework built around mophic. Tweak of course has a much larger scope and
delivers a more elegant solution. As a long term aim I would like to move my
project to Tweak but want to try to port a couple of my components to see
how it goes first.

Before I start that I have a couple of questions which I couldn't find
answers to on the site. I like Squeak but was never very keen on its look. I
like the look of Tweak a lot more so that's a good plus for me. At the
moment it runs inside a system window. I assume this is a temporary
arrangement to aid development. I'm not sure what the relationship is
between Squeak and Tweak. Again I assume Tweak will be Squeak rebuilt to use
the Tweak framework rather than morphic but otherwise will support
everything that Squeak supported in exactly the same way, so non-UI code
will not need to be changed.

I have to say its a great job and streets ahead of anything else I have seen
in any language. Keep up the great work.

    <title>[ANN] SqSquare BETA release</title>
    <link>http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.smalltalk.tweak/557</link>
    <description>Hi all,

We have developed a new collaboration software built on Tweak.
In a word, it is tweaked Kansas in 2006. On a virtual broad desktop,
you can freely add/edit objects, or even write eToys scripts.

The software is called SqSquare. In Japanese, 'SqSq' can be spelled
'Suku Suku', which means growing healthily and quickly.

FEATURES:
- Provides virtual broad desktops for shared activities:
 - Drawing pictures
 - Writing documents on SheetPlayer
 - Add/edit generic Tweak players
 - Tile scripting in eToys (partial support)
- Projects can be stored in servers
- Voice chat support (Currently, Windows only)
- Web UI and Web Browser plugin for easy access

HOW TO PLAY:
0: Install SqSquare from http://www.sqsq.jp/SqSquare/7
1: Access http://sqsq.jp:9092/seaside/SqSquare, and register user id.
2: After the registration, please log-in.
3: Select your favorite board.
4: Edit, add, do whatever you like.

Enjoy!

I've noticed a difference between how the Clipboard and CClipboard
classes behave and it is causing me some trouble. I would like to paste
the word "Nyíregyháza" into a Text area. In morphic I see that
Clipboard takes the string then decodes it:
Clipboard&gt;&gt;clipboardText:
    &lt;snip&gt;
decodedString := self interpreter fromSystemClipboard: string.

But the Tweak class CClipboard skips this step. That means that my word
doesn't have the nicely accented i and a. Is there something else I
should be doing to prepare my clipboard for special characters?

Thanks!

    <title>Event mechanism in tweak</title>
    <link>http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.smalltalk.tweak/548</link>
    <description>Hello,

i have a general question concerning the event mechanism in tweak. When
signaling an event like:

MyClass&gt;&gt;doSomething
   ...
   self signal: #myEventHappened.
   ...

an handling it in:

MyClass&gt;&gt;onMyEventHappened
   &lt;on: myEventHappened&gt;
   self halt doSomeThingElse.

the event handler will be executed (and the debugger halts) when sending
"doSomething" within a tweak-workspace. Within a "normal" (squeak)
workspace this does not happen.
Where is this different behavior located exactly? When i debug both
scenarios i can not see the difference.

Best regards,

Manuel Wellmann
