Status: UNCONFIRMED
         Component: ImgurExport
           Product: kipiplugins

I export images from ksnapshot to imgur via the pastebin plasmoid. When the
kipi imgur plugin was implemented, I tried to switch to it. I press "Export to
imgur", then I press "Upload" and nothing useful happens: I am told that I
should check "Xmp tags" for the imgur URL but I have no idea what is that and
of course I cannot check anything about the image because I don't have access
to it and don't need it (it is apparently stored in a temporary location). So,
unfortunately, this plugin cannot be used in my use case.

Reproducible: Always

new kipi plugin: Web-Slideshow Creator

Hello,

I've programmed a kipi plugin that generates a javascript based
slideshow of images that can be viewed in an internet browser. It is
meant as an alternative to the existing Flash Plugin and HTML export
plugins.

In contrast to the HTML export it uses dynamic HTML and resizes images
so that they fit into the browser window (good to deliver
slideshows to devices with different screen sizes!). Also, I believe, it
looks a bit nicer than most of the HTML export templates ;)

The results look something like this:
http://www.eckhartarnold.de/apppages/GWTPhotoAlbum/BayreuthAndAbroad/GWTPhotoAlbum_xs.html#Gallery

If you want to check the plugin out, you can download the sources here:

https://code.google.com/p/gwtphotoalbum/downloads/detail?name=kipiplugin_webslideshow-0.8.8.tgz

Please, let me know what you think about it.

Have a nice day,
Eckhart

Update kipi-plugins docbooks

Hi,

reading http://docs.kde.org/development/en/extragear-graphics/kipi-
plugins/index.html I noticed, that this documention is in a really bad shape
and needs some love.

It is a waste of time for users to read and the i18n teams to translate it.

What should be done:

1) index.docbook
Add
<para id="mising-plugin-docs">
A lot Kipi plugins currently have no
documentation. If you are interested in rectifying that situation,
please contact the Kipi team mailing list at <email>kde-
imaging-RoXCvvDuEio< at >public.gmane.org</email>.
</para>
and adapt all X-DocPath entries in kipiplugin desktop files without
documentation to this anchor.

2) Acquire Images
Scan - update with a stripped copy of skanlite docbook
Screenshot - remove it, no code

3) Calendar
remove docbook

4) Color Images
looks ok, needs additional info?

5) Convert Images
ok, needs additional info (see ?-Help)

6) Effect Images
ok, needs additional info (see ?-Help)

7) Filter Images
ok, needs additional info (see ?-Help)

8) Find Duplicate Images
remove docbook, no code?

9) Flickr Export
ok?, needs new screenshots?
change that to a chapter for all exports to image hosting services?

10) Gallery Export
remove docbook

11) Geolocation Editor
ok?, needs new screenshots?

12) Images Gallery
remove docbook, no code?
(looks like konquerors plugin Image Gallery)

13) OpenGL Imageviewer
ok?

14) JPEG Loss Less
is there really a plugin special für JPEG?

15) Digital Camera Client
remove docbook

16) Metadata Editor
ok, needs additional info, screenshot?

17) Print Wizard
ok, needs additional info, screenshot?

18) Raw Image Converter
No raw files here - can't check it.

19) Recompress Images
ok?, needs additional info, screenshot?

20) Rename Images
ok?, needs additional info, screenshot?

21) Resize Images
ok?, needs additional info, screenshot?

22) Send Images
up to date docbook + screenshots :)

23) Advanced Slide Show
needs update and new screenshots

24) Time Adjust
remove docbook

Thanks.

            Bug ID: 297162
          Severity: major
           Version: 2.5.0
          Priority: NOR
          Assignee: kde-imaging-RoXCvvDuEio< at >public.gmane.org
Summary: Application does not have permission for this action
    Classification: Unclassified
                OS: Linux
          Reporter: bill-kde.org-6ft+4TUC7y9qCwUM1VThig< at >public.gmane.org
          Hardware: Other
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
         Component: Facebook
           Product: kipiplugins

I was seeing "Application does not have permission for this action" when trying
to upload a photo, though auth, album lists, etc. were working.

After some googling on the error, I solved this by manually creating/visiting:

https://graph.facebook.com/oauth/authorize?client_id=107648075065&scope=publish_stream&redirect_uri=http://apps.facebook.com/kipi-plugins/

and then it worked as expected.

If it matters, this is on Fedora 16:
  digikam-2.5.0-1.fc16.x86_64
  kipi-plugins-2.5.0-1.fc16.x86_64

and the last time I probably used the plugin was on Fedora 14. I saw something
~= "Upgrading to OAuth" but that didn't seem to work, so I re-added the
account, but was still stuck in the above situation.

Digikam face recognition

Hi there

Taking a look at this year GSoC list I proposals I found this one:
http://www.google-
melange.com/gsoc/proposal/review/google/gsoc2012/varun_herale/1

Short description: Face Recognition was implemented in digiKam using the
libface shared library which uses Eigenfaces algorithm. This project aims to
implement a new and efficient algorithm for the same based on the Hidden
Markov Model.

I thought we already had a quite decent face recognition, do we need a new
one?

Cheers !

When I try to create new album with Gallery2 export plugin with non ascii
character in its name (eg. ěščřžýáíé), that character is translated as "?" (so
I have album name Dovolen? instead of Dovolená). I have to log in to the
Gallery webpage and change that manualy in admin screen.

Plugin can display names with accented character normaly after they are changed
in the Gallery interface.

+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #207157 +++

I cloned the bug because the previous one was closed but not solved.

Below I repeat the most important information:

I use:
Use Time & Date * EXIF/IPTC/XMP
Update Time & Date v File last modified

When I click "OK" there is some activity of my HDD but then a message appears:

"Unable to update file modification time in:
file1.jpg
file2.jpg
file3.jpg
"

I know what is the problem:
Apparently this plugin has problems with national characters e.g.
I had to change the directory name from "zdjęcia" to "zdjecia" in order to make
it work.

[Bug 294751] New: unlisted dependancy (hugin)

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=294751

           Summary: unlisted dependancy (hugin)
           Product: kipiplugins
           Version: 1.9.0
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: minor
          Priority: NOR
         Component: ExpoBlending
        AssignedTo: kde-imaging-RoXCvvDuEio< at >public.gmane.org
        ReportedBy: samuel-91qlTS3bU/xBDgjK7y7TUQ< at >public.gmane.org

Version: 1.9.0 (using KDE 4.6.5)
OS: Linux

expoblending (part of kipi-plugins) needs hugin (and it's dependencies) to run,
but does not list it as a dependency.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
install kipi-plugins on base system, then run expoblending

Actual Results:
complains that it is missing executables needed to run (align_image_stack then
enfuse)

Expected Results:
run without blocking errors.

When I first tried using expoblending, it complained that it couldn't find
align_image_stack. I figured out I needed to install hugin_tools to get that
binary. Then it complained that it needed enfuse (part of enblend). this led
me to installing hugin which seems to be a singular dependency which would have
solved the problem one-shot.
