Hi,

As part of Mule 3.3 goal to improve the usability this task aims to
facilitate the access to the HTTP properties, review the current properties
and add new ones according to the considered usefulness.

Please see the full specification here:
http://www.mulesoft.org/documentation/display/MULECDEV/HTTP+properties+usability+improvement

This is a first step towards improving the usability in HTTP, the following
task, which specification I will be sending shortly, will focus on
facilitating the creation and configuration of HTTP responses.

Thanks,
Eva

Hi Guys,

I've been working on a spec document for a single expression language for Mule 3.3 (it won't replace expression languages but will live alongside them for now). Please take a look and let me know what you think. Any/all feedback is greatly appreciated.

http://www.mulesoft.org/documentation/display/MULECDEV/Mule+Expression+Language

Let me know if there aren't enough examples and what you would like to see and I can add them.

Also for those that might be interested here is the development branch that has an almost fully functional implementation of this and a distribution built from this branch:

Hi,

As part of 3.3 M3 we are working on improving mule basic functionality as adding message properties or variables, adding attachment, etc.

The following wiki page explains this new behavior and how configuration will look like:

[http://www.mulesoft.org/documentation/display/MULECDEV/Mule+Basic+Functionality]

We need feedback from every user mostly around how this new behavior should be configured but any kind of feedback or comments will be appreciated.

Also, if you find out that we are not considering that there are other areas to improve around basic functionality let us know.

Thanks, Pablo.

Schema Validation Filter

Hi,

I'm using Mule Studio to set up a simple flow. The whole flow works apart from my schema validation filter. I have an HTTP inbound endpoint which I am posting XML to. I then want that XML validated by the schema validation filter.

Initially the flow was just stopping dead at the schema validation filter, so I did some digging and ended up creating a global schema validation filter and adding it as a ref to a message filter and telling it to throwOnUnaccepted so I could get an exception, like this:

        <message-filter throwOnUnaccepted="true" doc:name="Schema Validation">
            <filter ref="Schema_Validation"/>
        </message-filter>

This is good as I actually get an error now, which is:

Root Exception stack trace:
org.mule.api.routing.filter.FilterUnacceptedException: Message has been rejected by filter. Message payload is of type: DocumentImpl
at org.mule.routing.MessageFilter.filterUnacceptedException(MessageFilter.java:99)
at org.mule.processor.AbstractFilteringMessageProcessor.handleUnaccepted(AbstractFilteringMessageProcessor.java:62)
at org.mule.processor.AbstractFilteringMessageProcessor.process(AbstractFilteringMessageProcessor.java:48)
    + 3 more (set debug level logging or '-Dmule.verbose.exceptions=true' for everything)

So I have a couple of questions. What payload type is the schema validation filter expecting? and how do I set that debug logging level?

All this is run within Mule Studio, no external install of Mule.

Thanks.

[3.3] Groovy Expression Evaluator Improvements

Hi,

I'm about to start working on some changes to make the use of script-based expression evaluators such as groovy much easier.

The following wiki page includes information about the motivation for the change and the proposal with some before and after examples.

http://www.mulesoft.org/documentation/display/MULECDEV/Improve+Script+Expression+Evaluator+Context

If you have an feedback, suggestions or ideas please let me know.

This is the kind of improvement (more info if you follow the link)

THIS: <expression-filter expression="#[groovy:message.getInboundProperty('Content-Type")=='text/html')">
BECOMES: <expression-filter expression="#[groovy:inbound['Content-Type'] == 'text/html')">

For further information about other changes to expressions in Mule 3.3 see: http://www.mulesoft.org/documentation/display/MULECDEV/Mule+Expressions+Improvements

thanks!

I was trying to access mule web service with spring security as I need

       <!-- publish webservice -->

       <flow name="managerPublishService">

exchange-pattern="request-response">

                     <cxf:jaxws-service
serviceClass="com.gs.nisystem.ws.ManagerService" />

              </inbound-endpoint>

              <component>

                  <custom-interceptor
class="com.gs.crm.security.CustomInterceptor" />

                     <spring-object bean="managerWsService" />

              </component>

       </flow>

But when I intercept mule flow to set Authentication object to the
securitycontext I am having following exception.

WARN  2012-02-14 10:14:22,611 [main]
org.apache.cxf.phase.PhaseInterceptorChain: Interceptor for

Caused by: com.ctc.wstx.exc.WstxEOFException: Unexpected EOF in prolog

at [row,col {unknown-source}]: [1,0]

If I remove the interceptor I am getting following exception :
authentication object is not found in the securityContext.

Could you give me any insight to this problem.

Thanks

Mule + Activiti + Drools

Hi,

I´m preparing a POC with Mule together with activiti as BPM. Mule will receive messages through different protocols and depending on the content will trigger one or another process in activiti. The problem is that the fact in determining which process has to start is quite complex and there are many business rules to check. As an example, if an email is received and the subject is X, the recipient is Y and the Body has W, start process A, if not if ...

Because of that I´m thinking about different possibilites:

1) Integrate drools into Mule to decide which process should start in activiti.
2) Integrate drools into activiti and create a single entry point in activiti (one main process) that after checking the content of the message with drools will call activiti sub processes.
3) Use what is provided by default in Mule and activiti (not using drools) to handle the routing and process decisions. With this I don´t want to end with large mule config files or really complex processes in activiti that are not easy to mantain.
4) Any other advice?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Devs,

I have a problem in initializing mule client to send JMS messages,

My code is as follows

MuleClient client = new MuleClient(true);

MuleMessage message = client.request("jms://jbpm.response", 1000);

I am getting an exception

org.mule.transport.service.TransportFactoryException: Unable to create
connection factory. Either configure a connectionFactory-ref or a
jndiInitialFactory. (org.mule.api.lifecycle.InitialisationException)
(org.mule.api.registry.RegistrationException)

How can I configure connectionFactory-ref or jndiInitialFactory with Mule
client. If you can provide me a code snippet, it is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Harsha
